I Need To Leave Soon Can I Go Or Not Vehicle Inspection Sticker

Expired pa inspection stickers?

Call and make an appointment with a reputable shop. Drive carefully; if stopped offer the name and shop you are going to for inspection. Most officers will write up a warning and tear it up when you verify inspection complete.

If not, at least you have a valid argument for ticket

Is it legal for a PA vehicle inspection station to attach a valid inspection sticker on vehicle that fails?

Was this fault disclosed at the time of the sale? You must ascertain that you were not informed of the need for repairs when you bought the car. If you purchased the car at a used car dealership you can sue for reckless endangerment. Name both the dealership owner and the inspector who placed the sticker on the car. You can recover damages under the "fitness for purpose" laws in Pennsylvania. You can also go to another inspection facility and find out if the ball joints are part of the inspection. If they are, file a complaint against the person(s) who placed the sticker on the car. If not, sue the person/dealership that sold you the car. In any case, contact the lender and inform them about the car. They may find you another one and help you recover your investment, as well as to keep your business. In any case, if the inspector knowingly put a sticker on a vehicle that fails to meet any of the inspection standards he is subject to prosecution by the State of Pennsylvania, as well as at risk for being sued for reckless endangerment by the person(s) who could be involved in an accident due to the faulty ball joints.

I've been cited for having an expired inspection sticker, even though I don't have enough money to make the necessary repairs to my car. Should I plead "not guilty"?

You don’t say where you are from. Laws are different everywhere. You have no idea if what I might tell you applies. That said, in most places what they want is, indeed, for you to get it registered. You probably have to pay a fine at the Motor Vehicle Department too. Then you have no legal ramifications. But if you are in one of those states that inspects vehicles… (necessary repairs)… unless you make them and then get it registered, you have to plead guilty because you are. As others have said, you may be able to plead not guilty and get a trial date but… you’ll still have to get it fixed, if your jurisdiction even allows that as a free-pass.I live in a largely rural state that also has half of it’s population in one county, in like 40 square miles. They don’t inspect at all anywhere else, but in that one county they sure do. And it’s based on where you live, so. You can’t drive to Montana to get around it. It is what it is based on where you live.Be careful - you can’t just pay a fine and go away. You drive that car, the next citation is more money, then more money. There’s people in jail for never paying a parking ticket. So don’t blow it all off.An idea - perhaps you have a friend who will fix it in exchange for you doing something for them? We all have skills. Barter is a fine way to get around not having any cash-money. What things are worth to people might surprise you - where I live there are people that will build a patio for you in exchange for doing their taxes. To them, that’s a really good deal. Then you just have to get it tested.

State inspection sticker, Maine?

I live in Maine and here is what I believe. I hope this is what you said so you win the fight :) lol.

1. Taking off the inspection sticker retributions:
Driving without valid inspection sticker
Driving with uninspected vehicle

He may be looking at a higher fine or more than one fine, and depending on when he got his license, lose it for a (x) amount of days for the infractions. (X) being 30 days for first offense.

2. Leaving the outdated inspection sticker on the vehicle.
Driving with uninspected vehicle

He is going to get a fine (but not as much as he would if he took the sticker off.) and he might get a warning for not having the inspection done. But he would be looking at definite fines if he takes it off.

Hope that helps

Can I drive in Florida if my MA inspection sticker has expired?

I’m assuming you still maintain Massachusetts plates and insurance. If that is the case you can, however if it’s proven you’re a Florida resident then you might have some problems with the Massachusetts plates. The inspection is however irrelevant.

Do you need to pay tips for car inspection?

No and they should not except one, state authorized service.

DMV Inspection Question?

My car is registered in NJ and the sticker expires this month to get an inspection. But I wont be in NJ to get this done any time soon. Can I go to any state's DMV to get an inspection

Do Police Officers ever scan New York State inspection stickers?

In my area (Upstate NY) the police have license recognition systems in some of their patrol cars. The database they match plates against is full of stolen cars, cars used in crimes, cars registered to people with outstanding warrants ... and cars with expired registrations, inspections, and insurance.

Your plate would appear in the database, and if one of those cars got behind you in traffic ... the officer would know that your inspection is not currently valid. He would probably pull you over, and when he saw a valid inspection sticker in the window ... he would run it! Both you and your friend would have some problems.

Another problem ... isn't it part of the inspection procedure to remove and destroy the old sticker? Your friend might not even get the old sticker back for you to borrow.

If our small county sheriff's department can field license plate check patrol cars ... just about any department can! It would be too risky for me to consider trying.

For those people that think this technology does not yet exist ... check the sources!

If I get a parking ticket and do not move the car, can I get more tickets?

Usually, every 8 hours but whatever the max time on the meter is or what the city's parking ordinance is will let you get tickets like two rabbits in heat. Park at a 3 hour max meter, technically 8 tickets a day.  Philadelphia, as Jennifer Ellis, points out will ticket you 2 times a day unless the street has no overnight parking then 3 a day. I had a person you parked halfway across my driveway making it impossible to pull in and out (this was in the Philadelphia suburbs).  The neighbor was out of town for a week.  I complained to the cop who refused to reticket the car.  I called the police station and he got, guess what, 3 tickets a day.  Neighbor came back to more than 20 tickets. Before you think I was a jerk.  The kid apologized profusely and I went to court with him (I was not a lawyer at the time) and I asked the judge to give him a break.  The judge found him guilty on just two and told him you owe your neighbor (me) a big thank you.  (It was a case of thank yous)

New York plates with Texas inspection?

I live in New York and bought a truck from my son in Texas. I needed to get it insured to get the loan from the bank. I am not able to pick the truck up for 2 months. Do I have to get it registered in a certain time period or can I wait until just before I go pick the truck up to register it? If I need to register it in a certain time frame will the Texas inspection be ok to drive the truck back if I have New York plates on it?
