I Need To Loose Weight If I Dont Play Football

Can I lose weight by playing football for 2 hours a day?

Of course!! YOU can.But initially you won’t even be able to run constantly for 30min.Don’t be demotivated.Your would have to gradually increase your stamina and then ultimately achieve your GOAL of 2 Hours.I too play FOOTBALL(THE BEAUTIFUL GAME) and I play football twice a week for 2 hours a day, andIT is VERY EXERTING. you always need proper rest to recover.I am no expert but I suggest you to do the following:WEEK 1WARM-UP(Exercise and Stretch a little) - 5 min to 10 minJOG/RUN (Will increase stamina) - 15 minPLAY FOOTBALL (If you have enough ENERGY LEFT i.e.) - TIME depends on you.DO STRETCHING (It HELPS RELAX YOUR MUSCLES).Take rest according to you. Once Every two days(You’ll need more rest in the starting weeks)Gradually increase the JOG duration to 30 min in 3–4 weeks time.EAT HEALTHYSTAY HYDRATED

Will football help me lose weight?

You should. I assume you're going to be working out with the team, and practicing with them? They will run you pretty hard and you should lose weight. At 14 this should be the case. When you get a little older, you'll gain a lot of muscle mass (which weighs more than fat) and you will gain weight, but it will be healthy. BMI and Body Fat % are more important than weight.

Does football make you lose weight?

it makes u lose wight if u don't eat 3 big macs after every practice
u work hard, so as long as u don't eat a crap load of calories, u will probably lose weight
u gain muscle 2, esp. if u lift

How do I lose weight after playing high school football for 4 years? I am fit and active, but I struggle to run for long distances. However, when it comes to sprints and short burst, I don’t struggle. I am currently 6′1″ and 255 pounds.

You seem to have a muscular composition that primes the fast twitch fibers, the ones needed for explosive bout of energy vs. endurance. You can start a program for endurance training working out at 60–70% of your max heart rate, you could start on the elliptical as this allows a better control when you are not used to long cardio training and it is also a low impact activity that greatly lessens the risk of injury.OR you could try HIIT, short interval workouts of high intensity work with easy recovery intervals in between. These are short, normally 18–20 minutes and do not need as much preparation as running 5km. You can use the elliptical for some killer Tabata intervals that will leave you embracing sweet death (if done properly). The best is doing both as no matter how killer the Tabatas a 10KM run at easy jogging pace outperforms an HIIT including the much hyped EPOC “afterburn”. Sure, after an 18 minutes workout you will be burning a 40% more of energy as compared to doing nothing for an hour or two and about a 7% for some more… but running an hour will burn a 100% more calories than sitting on the couch during this full hour…. and it also induces EPOC. Not to speak about a 2 hours long run and doing this several times a week.

My 11 year old needs to make weight for football.?

I assume the weight problem is because he doesn't want to have an X on his helmet? I played football in middle school, and I always had that X. (X means he can't do anything but play on the line, correct?)

Anyways, I wrestle in High School and I have to cut weight for that once in a while. 3 lbs in a few days is nothing to worry about. If you just feed him a little less between now and then, and make sure he goes to the bathroom (you know what I mean) right before he gets weighed in, there shouldn't be much of a problem. Strange though when I played football you could weigh in your underwear if you were too close, I had to a few times.

I assume you mean he is 148 with the cleats and thigh pads on, correct? I can't guess how much those weigh if you didn't mean with those on.

Also, if he sleeps in the cold his body has to work harder to keep him warm. That's always an option I've had to resort to before, I just opened my windows and slept in my underwear without a blanket. Or skipping breakfast that day until after I make weight, sometimes when I would have to drop 5 or so lbs in a day or two I'd just skip eating entirely for a day, which isn't healthy.

Mainly, the best thing I can recommend is to slightly downsize all of his meals and make sure he drinks only water and milk/juices. If you're really hurting you can try sleeping in the cold/not eating, but those aren't very healthy. If he is going to have to cut weight for every Sunday though, he might want to consider something else because I've done that before for wrestling and it isn't any fun at all to cut weight week after week and never eat on Wednesday and after school Friday and Saturday morning.

Hope I helped.

Will playing football (soccer) daily help me loose weight?

YES!!! People who say it depends on what you eat is only answering it halfway. Alot goes into what you eat yes if u eat mcdonalds 7 days a week ur just goina gain weight unless you burn more calories than what you take in. But I feel like ur not that type of person. So for one thing have u ever seen a fat soccer player who was not a goalie? Probability if that is super slim. Soccer consist of tons of running, running = cailorie burning. If you continue to eat the same foods that you eat today and picked up soccer as a hobbie and played soccer every day you will shred the weight off. But if u don't have a decent diet you will not lose but maintain the same weight. If u have a bad diet and u play soccer every day you will not maintain ur weight but gain weight. So if u started playing waite weight ur self the first day then after 2 weeks jump on the scale if u gained weight look at ur diet if u maintain weight change ur diet, but if u lose weight do nothing ( only if u want to) and the pounds will come off.

I am 15 and I don't want to play football anymore, how do I tell my parents and my coaches?

i was in a similar predicament in high school. i was the second best player on the team. i had played on varsity for two years and we were state champions. come february of junior year we were starting to practice (we practiced almost all year) and i just wasn't into it at all. we had a new coach i didn't like, i wanted to to do other things, i wanted to freaking relax and have a fun senior year.
i told my parents first and i could tell they were a bit disappointed. i ended up getting in a fight with the new coach on the day i planned on quitting, and i just walked off the field.
i also had an aggravated injury that had been bothering me for years.

if you have a scholarship on the line or something, that may be something to consider. otherwise, if you are truly just wanting to lose weight, get a female personal trainer and go once a week with her for an hour (usually 30 bucks or so(.

she will keep you motivated with her hot bod. wrestling? meh. not my cup of tea, but it can help you lose weight. i say go to the gym and concentrate on resistence training and cardio. lift weights maybe 2-3 times a week

Can I lose weight by playing chess?

Apparently you can’t lose weight by playing endless hours of online chess - I am testimony to that. What I think helps in my case is to avoid these things at CafeNero each day:Panini & Sandwiches - Quality & Freshness – Caffè NeroAlthough very tasty, I suspect the Cheese (especially daily) may not help reduce weight. I have for the last few weeks tried to avoid these, and think intuitively my waste line might be on a slight decrease now.Preparation for chess - can help lose weightHowever Elite Over the board chess is different. There is an interesting article I found here:Why chess is really an extreme sport | Stephen MossStephen Moss indicates in regards to the Elite players : “You need to be at the top of your game to perform. In that sense, it is as much a sport as football or rugby; indeed, it has been suggested that in the course of a long chess game a player will lose as much weight as he does during a football match…”But the article goes on to say at the amateur level, players are often playing in pubs etc, and it is not entirely a priority to be physically fit.Playing chess in itself doesn’t lose much weightAccording to a detailed metabolic analysis mentioned in this Stack exchange answer:Does playing chess burn as many calories as running?“chess grandmasters do not come anywhere close to runners when it comes to caloric expenditure”Anecdotal evidenceHowever, in one of the epic Karpov vs Kasparov matches, this article:The great rivalries of chessindicates: “The contest lasted five months and featured a series of successive draws of 17 and 15 games. It was controversially ended by the chess authorities over fears for the health of the players, both of whom had lost weight during the struggle. Kasparov had been resurgent at the end, although Karpov still held a lead.”This may be because both players didn’t eat as much. The stress of the match may have wanted them to prepare hard with clearer heads - and maybe they didn’t eat as much during this epic match.Cheers, K
