I Need To Move Out But I Need Help With Money And Where Do I Start

Have to move out, 18, No money, No job. Need advice and helpful tips for starting a?

There are lots of ways to make cash without committing to a job. For instance:

1) Find a popular search engine for your area like Kijiji or Craigslist and advertise yourself as a young man looking for any kind of labor. Give examples like landscaping or heavy lifting and describe yourself as physically fit etc.

2) See if you can get a hold of any landscaping equipment, such as a rake or shovel or lawnmower etc. Anything you get can supplement your "resume" above and can also be used with door to door selling of your services "Mow your lawn, rake your lawn, edge your lawn (with the shovel)" etc.

3) If you don't have a vehicle to live out of when you move to this new location (which isn't a very happy choice regardless) you have to make plans for where you're going to live before you get there. Call property management firms and find the cheapest acceptable place you can get your hands on. With your girlfriends help bills shouldn't be an issue as long as you get work right away too.

4) Speaking of work, look for a job out there before you move so you have something to fall into. Call, fax resumes, and describe your current plans and when you'll be available for work.

5) Call in any favors with friends or family to help any of these above plans, even if it means borrowing money.

6) Find out what your expenses will be, factoring in rent / utilities / insurance and gas if you have a vehicle / food / other necessities.

It's important you HAVE a place ready for you or near when you move, that you have a JOB, and have enough money saved for 2 months worth of bills.

How much money should I save before moving out of my parents house?

Build a budget including all income and expenses. Typical monthly expenses include: Rent, Loans, Water, Cable, Internet, Phone, Electricity, Car Insurance, Renter’s insurance, Groceries, Gasoline, and spending money. The cost of bills depends on where you live. There are lots of free budget forms for download; also check out DaveRamsey.com and mint.com for help budgeting. Rent should never be more than 30% of your monthly income. If you don't have enough money coming in to cover these expenses, consider getting a roommate.

Make a savings plan to prepare for moving out. There are lots of "start-up" costs involved in moving out the first time. Deposits for apartment and bills are the largest factor. Other things to save for are: Furniture (bed, couch/chairs, coffee/side tables, TV stand), electronics (TV, Computer, Microwave), Pots & pans, Dishware, Silverware, Bedding, towels, and the list goes on. Buy what you can in preparation for moving to decrease the amount you're spending at one time.

In addition to saving for the items listed above, put some in savings for a “rainy day” in case of job loss, medical emergency or car accident. $1,000 is the minimum, 3-6 months bills is recommended.

I want to move out, but have no money?

well, I am approaching that situation soon also. I'd say get a job now, get some money and go, California has high living costs. The apartment you'd rent there may cost $1300 a month where I could get the same thing here in NY for $430 a month. It's really not a good place to start out especially in your situation. You need money to start and you wouldn't be able to provide yourself with any "wants". (everynight pizza, video games, movies, entertainment) because you won't have any spare money making payments on your car & apartment and a credit card if you have one. I suggest having a credit card only for emergency (fuel pump in car fails or something) when you are just starting to live on your own you can't really buy yourself what you want. If you can't afford it, don't turn to your credit card or you will be in the hole before you know it. Hope this helps a little

How much money should I save before moving out?

Okay. DO NOT GET A STORAGE UNIT. The money you spend to store things you are not yet ready to use is money that you can put into a savings account. Right now, all you need to do is start saving. SAVE the money for the furniture that you need. SAVE the money for other household things you might need. Shop around and get some price ideas so you have an idea what budget you need for furniture and household items. If it is small items, like dishes and things that can easily store in your current living space, you can buy those things. (my closet was full of small household items before I left home.)

As for how much you should have saved up before actually moving out, that really depends on how much your monthly expenses will be. A comfortable savings account should cover three months of expenses, such as rent and utilities, in case something happens that you can't work. A better savings would be enough money to cover six months of expenses. Most people move out when they can cover one month of expenses.

So, I recommend saving enough money to buy your furniture and your appliances. Save enough money for the deposit and first months rent. Save enough money for any deposits that might be required for electricity or water or gas to be turned on. Then, have enough money to cover at least one to three months worth of bills for rent, electricity, water, gas, and any other bills you think you may need to pay each month.

How can I move out of my home and start my life from scratch in a new city since my parents have made it impossible for me to live with them? They are very controlling and I have no freedom to go out or make my own decisions. I am 24.

Just make sure you have enough money saved up first. If you don’t have a job, that’s step one. Then save hard. Remember you will need a deposit on a place to live plus at least one month’s rent and maybe two. Do the maths carefully: what you will need for food, utilities, transport, all taxes etc etc. Find out what the removal truck will cost, if you need one. Decide if you’re getting a place furnished or unfurnished, and factor in the cost of furniture if the latter. If you’re going to a new city, that’s more expense because you need to get yourself there first and pay for accommodation while you look for a place to rent. Budget for at least a month staying in a cheap hostel or whatever. Plus storage for your stuff if you have a lot.If you don’t have a job in the new place? Save up enough money to live for at least 3–4 months while you find one. Remember that you’ll be working at least a month before they pay you.Just work out very carefully what you need, and whatever you think it is, add 20%, because you’ll have forgotten something, or something will go wrong. But perhaps you should consider whether it has to be another city. You could get your own place across town and just see your parents once a week or whatever. Moving away from all your friends and everything you know can be hard. If you set the right boundaries with your parents, it could work.Good luck!
