I Need Tree Theme Help

Help with my jungle theme costume: tree?

Dye a linen sheet light brown. Spray paint the bark of a rough textured tree with dark brown paint, and while wet wrap the dyed sheet around it and press all over to transfer to the sheet. When dry you would wrap this around your body loosely and pin it under your arms. Make a head piece for the foliage using a knitted stocking cap/hat - attaching many different lengths of limber Styrofoam tubing/rods dyed green ...so they bend out around and down over your shoulders and which you part to reveal your face.
Styrofoam additions to your shoes like roots might work but consider a trip hazard.
You could also make the trunk like a bamboo cane (a large one) or a palm tree trunk. You should be able to move about and sit in this without damage and can always remove the head piece if it became tiresome.

I Don't Want To Be
by Gavin Degraw

I don't need to be anything other
Than a prison guard's son
I don't need to be anything other
Than a specialist's son
I don't have to be anyone other
Than the birth of two souls in one
Part of where I'm going, is knowing where I'm coming from

I don't want to be
Anything other than what I've been trying to be lately
All I have to do
Is think of me and I have peace of mind
I'm tired of looking 'round rooms
Wondering what I've got to do
Or who I'm supposed to be
I don't want to be anything other than me

I'm surrounded by liars everywhere I turn
I'm surrounded by imposters everywhere I turn
I'm surrounded by identity crisis everywhere I turn
Am I the only one who noticed?
I can't be the only one who's learned!

Can I have everyone's attention please?
If you're not like this and that, you're gonna have to leave
I came from the mountain
The crust of creation
My whole situation-made from clay to stone
And now I'm telling everybody

I don't want to be [x4]

Need help finding devices and the theme of this poem called trees by joyce kilmer?

According to the poet the tree is more beautiful than any poem. The tree is personified as a lovely woman who gets her nourishment from mother earth through her roots. It is pictured as praying to God throughout the day, lifting leafy branches as arms in prayer. In summer her hair sports many nests of robins and she is clothed with snow and washed with rain. The poet concludes that anybody can write a poem but a tree is a work of art which only God can create.
The poem is written in rhyming couplets which makes it simple and easy to follow. So also the language is not complicated leading to clear understanding and therefore better appreciation.
The whole poem is an extended personification of the tree. Other figures of speech are also used expressively.
Line1.-Hyperbole--idea exaggerated.
line2.-simile-poem and tree compared
line3.-metaphor--roots are described as mouth--hungry is transferred epithet.
line 4metaphor--earth's nourishment described as flowing with milk
line5--personification
line6.-leafy arms-metaphor branches regarded as arms.
7,8,9,10--personification.
Last two lines most probably form antithesis--not sure.

Themes for cold sassy tree?

I remember doing this last year lol.
I got some ideas from: http://www.sparknotes.com/lit/coldsassy/...
Some themes they include: The struggle to understand death (mattie lou's death, grandpa's death...), dawning of a new era (cars, modern technology), fight to overcome social constraints (closemindedness, and how the town doesnt want to integrate with the Mill town people)....

I also wrote about the theme of love through the ages (Lightfoot and Will, and Grandpa and Miss Love), and just the simple theme of not judging others.

Hope that helps you get on the right track!

Help! don't know a thesis statement for the bean trees and to kill a mockingbird ?

So, I can't help because I haven't read the Bean Trees, but I can tell you that "became" is not a good word to use as it is in past tense and all analytical papers should be written in present tense.

Ex: In the novel To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee and the novel The Bean Trees by Barbara Kingsolver, parenting serves as the main component for how...

The word ingredient just sounds exactly like what it means: like you're cooking something.

Good luck, sorry I can't help more!

Christmas tree themes?

once i was eating at a cajun restaurant and i saw a christmas tree decorated in the mardi gras theme.

you could do anything...chickens, birds, old fashioned (popcorn strings), snowmen, santas. or just theme it based on color. nascar, theatre, anything. what do you like as far as sports or hobbies?

you should display your trees of christmas past in other rooms of your house, if you still have the ornaments that you used.

i always have trees in every room of my house. in my kitchen i have roosters on the christmas tree because my kitchen is decorated with roosters.

The central idea of the poem , the heart of the tree by Henry cuyler bunner,is a poem that speaks about planting trees and the beauty and the benefits of it , at the surface level. but the core idea is the simple thing like planting a tree is associated with greater noble cause.the selfless act proves to benefit the larger good of the society the present and the generation to come it not only enhances the beauty of the nature but also brings in the rain and shade thereby helping habitate the other creatures and bringing man fortune by creating an environment that would enable him and the generation to come live in a better, beautiful and world built of loveThere by the simple act just becomes divine and the planter god alike.

What is the theme of the poem "Trees" by Joyce Kilmer?

It might be considered a metaphor in which Kilmer suggests that the world is God's poem... one that far surpasses his own verse.

In a way, the poem is almost ironic. Kilmer expounds at length of the beauty of even a single tree, not just in appearance but also in how it lives and interacts with the vaster beauty of nature. Because his verse is so elegant, we can see through it a greater elegance that he sees.

And just as Kilmer knows himself to be the author of his own beautiful poems, so too he wants to credit the author of that greater beauty. Or, as Kilmer says:

Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.
