I need your knowledge to help a very ill and sad friend. Could you please tell me what this is?

I need you to help me to find the name of a neurological disorder that a boy I have encountered today suffers from. I didn't have the chance to ask him directly and now I want to find the right neurologist for him and contact him.

He is 23 years old and he's mentally capable of doing everything that a normal person can do, however he has some problems with walking around in a proper way, although he manages to get around. He mentioned that the problem stemms from his cerebellum and that his disorder is the type that doesn't involve any attacks. He often finds it hard to control his mimics, as I have observed. But he understands the direction of a conversation and responds in a perfectly sane, normal way. But he told me that he feels really sad and useless, as he lost his good health.

Can you please tell me what this disorder is so I can find the right neourologist for him.

What are some ways to cope with general sadness?

Cry- Some studies suggest that crying may have a relaxing effect on the body by releasing endorphins, a natural “feel-good” chemical in your body. Crying may also activate your parasympathetic nervous system, which helps your body recover from stress and trauma.Exercise- Several studies have shown that exercise releases endorphins and other chemicals that can help fight sadness. One study showed that participants who did moderate exercise over a 10-week period felt more energetic, positive, and calm than those who did not. In addition, the benefits of exercise were greater for people experiencing depressed mood.Smile. Several studies have shown that smiling, even when you are sad, can help you feel better. Duchenne smiles, or smiles that engage your eye muscles as well as those near your mouth, have the strongest positive effect on your mood. So if you are feeling sad, try to smile. Even if you don’t feel like it at first, it may help you feel more positive.Listen to music. Listening to music can help soothe and relax you. Why you choose to listen to music is as important as what you listen to. Listening to “beautiful but sad” classical music that you enjoy may help people work through their own sadness.ake a warm bath or shower. Research has shown that physical warmth has a comforting effect. Taking a warm bath or a hot shower will help you relax. It may also help you soothe your feelings of sadness.Acknowledge your feelings. Sadness is normal and can even be healthy. Research has shown that experiencing mixed feelings and negative feelings is crucial to mental well-being. Many studies have shown that people who apologize for or repress their feelings actually intensify those negative feelings.Distract yourself. Studies have shown that rumination, or the process of going over and over your feelings of sadness, hinders recovery. Distracting yourself from ruminating on your sadness may help you overcome it.Practice mindfulness. Mindfulness is based on acknowledging your experiences and accepting them without judging them or yourself. Research has shown that practicing mindfulness can actually change how your brain responds to sadness. It can also help you recover from sadness faster.Try meditation. A common mindfulness technique is mindfullness maditation. Several studies have shown that mindfulness meditation can reduce your brain’s responses to negative emotional stimuli.

Need help finding a Girl's name meaning Sadness/pain/bitter/loneliness etc. for a school short story?

Hi, Thanks for helping me out. I have to write a short story for school and I need help finding a girl's name that means one of the 4 listed above or something along those lines.
Her name means this because it goes along with the mood of the story, and I want it to be kind of a sad, slow feel to the story. Thanks so much for your help, I appreciate it!

What do you do when you feel sad?

If I am sad, I write. If that doesn't work, I read. If that doesn't work either, I go for a walk. If even that fails to ameliorate my state, I talk to one of five best friends. If even that fails to disperse my sadness, I sing and dance on my favourite songs. And, as a last resort when nothing works, I go out for a movie, or for food or for both. But, whatever I do, I don't sit idle, doing nothing. And, sadly, that is what most people do when they are sad. And, that is a blunder. That never helps. When we are doing something, our mind too is engaged into that activity. But, when a person does nothing, their mind is all freed up, thus unoccupied.Ergo, it keeps repeating the same thoughts that made the person sad in the first place. The mind plays those thoughts again and again and again in a loop. And, this further reinforces the sadness into the depths of our head and heart. And, this only exacerbates the condition. It turns us more and more sad and anxious. It captivates and fetters the person in a murky and shady condition which doesn't allow the person to get over the tension. And, that further amplifies sadness. Thus, the key to trash off those sad thoughts is to keep your mind occupied with something.Or anything, but not nothing. Bliss!Edit: Fellow Quoran Rhishita Jha raised a really good point in the comments section. Here is that, and my response to the same just for more clarity:Love,Shilanjan

How can a therapist help if I feel sad all of the time?

This very much depends upon the therapist, the therapy and any relationship that you foster with the therapy and therapist.Engaged or active listeners usually have less academic imput into your psyche or consciousness. Talking to and listening to someone who either personally or professionally understands your sadness is better in most cases, and some people find themselves in extreme circumstances because they have not expressed their feelings, when dealing with sadness alone.Communication is the key here. Many people do not have the fortunate personality trait which allows effective communication or the language to express their thoughts and feelings adequately and that is why sadness or grief overcomes them in the first place.Self expression is a key factor. Therapists who are person centred, meaning open to dealing with your needs rather than expressing a dogma of some academic psychiatrist/psychologist/psychoanalyst and taking you down someone else’s designated route to recovery, will help if you can find the right person.A therapist who encourages you to trust them will often be more beneficial to a sensitive sufferer of sadness than a cognitive behavioural practitioner. CBT only works in certain circumstances. We are working towards psychosynthesis now which takes into consideration the spiritual or metaphysical aspects of why people do not function well at times in their lives or all of their lives. Personality has a great deal to do with this but also how we deal with negative events one after the other. We can all only deal with so much no matter how bright a star we are. Some people are naturally resilient to events which would sink other people. Humanity has the emotion of sadness built into the collective whole. Sensitive people are more prone to sadness than those who are not. An advanced thinking or spiritually aware person as therapist will know this and allow you to discover for yourself why you are sad.
