I Never Follow Through With What I Want To Do Loss Of Motiviation

I need motivation to workout!?

Well a motivation factor could be to impress someone you always wish that you could, maybe that person you like is with someone but hey not everything may last forever- and when they finally break up with that loser then by all means; go for the rebound and look good doing it. Alternatively you could consider looking attractive for your future mate and consider the fact that in a relationship that you can only really respect someone who respects themselves and let's face it- someone who lets themselves go obviously probably lacks the ability to care for anything else either. Not saying everyone is like that but let's assume that is what is going through the majority of people's minds. Yes, people can be evil but hey- it's always fun to shove that dirt they threw you right back! :D

Here's a few tips... if you need them:

For starters stress can affect your metabolism. If you stress yourself out with the concern of how you measure your progress then your already on a bad start. I personally find that everyone who tries working out/ dieting will find it impossible to actually make progress when they're simply too concerned about achieving a certain goal.

Secondly I guess if your not stressed then the next esscential step would be dieting. Drinking AT LEAST a gallon of water (I hear you technically need two gallons but who are we kidding sometimes, not all of us are going to spend the day by the faucet sipping on water).

Lastly, how long are your workouts and what workouts are you doing? Certain workouts like crunches will burn only burn little fat but only build muscle. So sometimes the illusion of gaining is put off by muscle gain at the same time. Either way; doing cardiovascular workouts that affect your entire body like Running, Squatting, Playing Sports, swimming, etc. will greatly improve how you look by burning fat. You can't do just one routine and expect it to berid of all your body fat. It takes time and it takes alot of energy. If time is a problem then by all means; go to a nearby health store and check to see what vitamins they can offer. If time is not an issue then just go and do whatever, getting out of the house may not be a bad thing but remember to never follow a routine- be spontaneous and make it fun. ^,^

I have almost zero motivation, but I feel I have so much potential...?

I was like you: Always thinking about how much I knew about medicine when im not around my friends, they never knew who I really was. I knew that I can really help people, like on here (not really sure how I got so many points and Top Contributor for only joining in August) but I never felt like I would do anything good with it. It's almost like im taking the "easy way out" in life and never doing what I want.

What you have to do is look at all you have. If you know you could really excel at something do it, no matter how hard. The way I got past this was saying to myself, "I wont go through life never knowing what it's like to go into a field of medicine, I just can't", and it really helped. Although I am still a senior in high school and not even in college yet, im going for Paramedic if it kills me. If it doesn't work out, at least I did what I promised myself to.

The biggest thing is regrets, you DON'T want to live with regrets, especially big ones that could decide your fate. Actually it was just yesterday: I was in Business/Personal Financing, and we had to create a "Future Financial Plan" with short term and long term goals. I have to say, some of the things I typed seemed unreal, but only to the teacher...because they don't know me or what I have; niether do my parents. They wont know what I will do after high school or what im doing now to get there, but I WILL do it and they're left in the dust, and that's all that matters. Sometimes when you dream of your life as a movie or your favorite show, it could happen because when you look at it, your life really is a show.

You have to just do what you think is right, don't feel like your forced to be smart because you'll never know what it's like to have the life you want because you only get one. I wouldn't want to waste my life knowing that I did things just to please other people- For now it's all about you. Write down all your goals like I did in my business class and do whatever it takes to get to them. Stop dreaming and looking into the future, just live the moment for now until you know how your going to get there, that's the hardest part.

Feel like giving up on my diet? Motivation? Help?

alright, honestly.. dieting, NEVER WORKS, unless you change your eating habits, in general. A diet has to be a way of life.. becuase as soon as you stop your diet, you gain the weight back. AND, with starting diets, its such a change in eating habits, that you really miss certain foods, and u end up saying *** it, and go back to eating the way you did, and getting depressed, or upset, becuase you cant follow through.. and it DIDNT WORK!

Honestly, my suggestion is, DO NOT give up hope, and if the current diet your on, doesnt make YOU feel good, DONT do it. Find a diet thats close to how you LIKE to eat, that allows you to have what you want in moderation. Believe me.. i started a diet.. that i could live with.. everyday, for the rest of my life.. and i lost weight, AND i felt good, and it motivated me to work at it, and i lost weight, AND i could SEE the difference, and THAT motivated me to work harder. a week and a half of the diet and i was down 15 almost 20 pounds..

keep at it, and find what works for you love, itll make a BIG diffference in everything.

Laziness, lack of motivation, anxiety... what's wrong with me?

I am a 27-year old male, married and work full-time. I am relatively healthy aside from slightly high blood pressure. I'm fairly intelligent (college grad with two degrees). Over time have come to realize the following things about myself.

• show interest in only a few different subjects or matters
• always feel like I need to rush to complete any task (do things half-assed)
• rarely follow through on projects that I start
• get really excited about something, work on it for a few minutes, then instantly lose interest
• extremely lazy when it comes to general household tasks
• no motivation to complete a task at home or work
• rarely contribute in group conversations
• don't like to talk to co-workers
• uncomfortable in groups of 3 or more people
• constantly analyzing everything I say or do in a group of people
• never satisfied with where I currently am (if at home, feel like I need to be out doing something; when out doing something, feel like I need to rush home)
• can easily experience panic or anxiety attacks
• oftentimes daydream
• can't concentrate when reading, then have to go back and re-read paragraphs or sentences sometimes three or more times
• get very drowsy while driving and watching TV
• always feel like I have to be doing something and keeping busy, yet I have no idea what to do
• quickly losing interest in my line of work (graphic design) but no ideas of anything I'd rather be doing

I don't know if any of these things are related to each other, but many of these bulletpoints seem to be worsening over time. I intend to see a doctor soon, but in the mean time, does anyone have any ideas what may be going on with me?

I need motivation to exercise? I'm just too lazy?

And I have to work out..I have to. My doctor said so..I mean, I'm getting in that red zone..I already know what I'm going to do for exercise..I just need motivation. I'm too embarrassed to exercise because I have low self esteem. I wish I could hire a personal trainer, but I just can't afford it..I could try convincing my parents AGAIN, but..To be honest, they're busy paying for Christmas..

I just need to start working out..I need motivation.

Please help me?
Seriously..
