Help! My parents don't want me to leave my state for college!?
Well the thing is, the decision of where to go to college should be your decision. As a young adult who's about to enter college, your parents should understand that the decision should be yours, not theirs. With that being said, you should sit down and have a serious talk with your parents, and perhaps reach some sort of compromise. Meanwhile, show them that you can be independent and would be able to go to an out of state school. Also make a list of pros and cons and show the list to them. An obvious pro would be self-development (since being away from your parents will allow you to development more independently). A con would be you wouldn't be able to visit your parents/your parents wouldn't be able to visit you whenever they would like and the cost of the plane tickets associated with the visits.
