I Plugged My Vga Cable Into The Back Of My Tv But Nothing Shows Up.

How do you troubleshoot a HDMI to VGA cable that is not working?

If it is an HDMI to VGA cable and not an HDMI to VGA adapter then it will never work. There seem to be people trying to sell HDMI to VGA cables on the internet because they are slightly cheaper than an HDMI to VGA adapter. But the problem is that you cannot just rewire HDMI to VGA with a special cable because HDMI is Digital and VGA is Analogue, they are electrically and electronically on different planets.Step 1. Check if this is an adapter or a cable. If it is just a cable then take it back to where you bought it!Step 2. If it is an adapter then check your graphics settings to see what they say about the monitor, if it says nothing then try another display/TV/etc.

How to connect your DYNEX tv to your laptop with a VGA cable?

Assuming you have windows

1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
2. Click Appearance and Themes, and then click Display.
3. On the Settings tab of the Display Properties dialog box, click the monitor icon that represents the monitor you want to use in addition to your primary monitor.
4. Click to select the Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor check box. After you enable this feature, you can drag items across your screen onto alternate monitors. Or, you can resize a window to stretch it across more than one monitor.

If my tv has an hdmi plug in the back does that make it a HD tv?

Yes, it does! Simple, right?

Unless... in the unlikely event that it was manufactured before March 1, 2007, (the date after which all TVs made for sale in the USA were required to include digital tuners, assuming you are in the USA), then it might be only "HD Ready."

"HD Ready" means that it has an HD-capable screen and inputs, but it is lacking a digital tuner (so it can only display HDTV from external sources).

I'd like to help clear up some misinformation in other answers (at the risk of losing out on "Best Answer" for doing so)...

-- You do NOT have to subscribe to HD Cable TV and pay extra to "get the HD quality" if you have an antenna and you can receive over-the-air digital TV broadcasts. Broadcast (over-the-air) HDTV is free.

-- The difference between 720p and 1080i has nothing to do with whether a TV is "HD Ready." See my main answer above the line.

-- Although 1080i is marketed as "full" HDTV, 720p is certainly also HDTV. The ABC and FOX broadcast networks, and the ESPN, ABC Family, Disney Channel, and Fox News cable networks, all use 720p for their HDTV content (although most other networks do use 1080i).

How do I mirror my Android's screen to my TV without a HDMI cable?

If your Android device is higher than 4.0, then if you you have a TV, Blu-ray player or Console that supports Screen Mirroring, you can use Wifi Direct to mirror it to your bigger screen. Since the screen mirroring protocol is different for each receiver, then you will need to read the documentation for it. These can usually be found on the website of the device manufacturer.

My emachine laptop to soniq tv says unsupported help!!?

What does it mean when your computer displays a "VGA No Signal" message?

It means that the monitor is working but does not see the computer is turned on. The message means your monitor is working okay but is not getting a signal from your computer. The best thing to do is make sure your computer is powering on. Look on the back of your computer and see if you more then one video port on the back. They will look like the blue one or the white one. See if you have 2 of the blue or 2 of the white. If you do then move your monitor cord to other video port and see if it works or not.If that is not the problem then there is something wrong with your computer is not turning on or you have a problem that you are getting any video from your computer.
