Hamster cage vs. tank?
well to me i would prefer either one but if i really had 2 pick i would say a cage is better because its really meant for a hamster u no? a tank is for fish period. its not really meant for a hamster, but its still good and less expensive. cage: good - it provides more air for ur hamster - many cages come with tubes and tunnels to satisfy ur hamsters love 4 burrowing and exploring (plus its more fun that way.) - when ur hamster needs 2 chew, it can use the bars. bad - some cages can be hard to clean (because of all the tubes and stuff) - ur hamster could possibly escape (by breaking thru the cage bars, etc.) - ur hamster could get cold. - odor can drift off to nearby areas. tank: good - it keeps ur hamster warmer. - u dont have 2 worry about it escaping as much - cleaning isnt much of a problem. - u dont have 2 worry much about the smell. bad - the ventilation isnt that good. - its not as fun because theres no tubes and stuff. - if the tank breaks or falls off of a table or something, ur hamsters history. hope this helps!

How to make fun for my chinchilla?
It would be a lot safer to do an obstacle course inside as if they eat the grass they could get very ill and they could also easily run off they could get heat exhaustion too. If you get lots of cardboard boxes they would love to climb all over them and chew them too (my chinchillas love it) see if you could get a chinchillas wheel to attach to the side of the cage and just make sure they have lots of things and ledges to climb on too.
