I Really Really Want To Know Name Of This Movie That I Have Seen Long Time Ago And I Cant Remember

I need the name of this movie that I watched a long time ago?

I watched this when I was a child (20+ years ago to be exact).
I would like to watch it again but I can't remember the name of the movie.
Here is what I remember:
There was a teenager. He found a box in his house containing a magic dice game. Each time he role the dice his character move forward. The goal is to reach the finish line. The catch is each time the character land on a square, something magical happens, that including both bad and good things. I remember he hit a square that has a murderer, then a real murderer showed up and shot him, another time he hit a square with a bear on it, he becomes a bear. But anyway, he finished the game after 30 years. When he finishes he came back to the past just before he rolled the dice, so it's like nothing happened.

Recently, there was a movie trying to mimic the original. It has 2 brothers playing a similar game but they go into space and at the end they got sucked into the sun and then they come back to earth. But that is not the one that I want.

Please help me out if you have seen this movie. Thanks.

Name of a movie that may be based on the Zodiac Killer?

I can't remember the name of this movie, and I really really want to see it all the way through.

I saw near the end of the movie, and having watched a documentary on the Zodiac Killer a few weeks before I instantly connected the two. In the movie the serial killer wasn't the Zodiac Killer, he had some sort of different name (it's not the 2007 movie). It looked like it was a 70's or 80's movie, maybe early 90's. It may NOT have been based on the Zodiac, but it might have been inspired by the events.

From what I saw, there was a detective and this rather obese guy that the detective had been blaming for the murders. The detective had pretty much stalked the obese guy, becoming obsessed with pinning the crime on him. After one point, the serial killer ties up two teenagers while they're picnicking and stabs them brutally. One of the teenagers was the detective's child (can't remember if it was the male or female). After this the detective goes off the deep end, and his accusations get him fired. The case goes cold and he has no way of proving anything that he's claimed. The detective either loses his job or quits it. After so many years, he forges a letter claiming to be the killer to remind them that the killer is still out there (much like the real Zodiac letters, it claims a body count that is unproven, something like "me - 46 Police - 0".

The detective tracks down the obese man one last time. The obese man, this time, beats the hell out of the detective and ties him up, throwing him in the trunk or back seat. He tells the detective that he was right all along and that the sad part is he'll never be able to prove it, as he murders a final victim with the detective's gun, but keeps his fingerprints off of it. The killer then parks at a public place (a police station I think) and runs in, claiming the detective has just killed the final victim. The detective runs in and murders the killer, only to be murdered himself by police in an attempt to stop him from killing. The movie ends shortly after, I can't remember if the police ever find out who actually committed the murders.

I know this is kind of vague, but I don't want to say something like "it was DEFINITELY a police station that the killer runs into in the final scene" and it actually be somewhere else. Is anyone able to help?

Why don't I remember movies and books shortly after having watched/read them?

This is known as the salience effect. If a movie pertained greatly to your current situation - as, say, The Hunting Ground did to me, a recent rape victim - you would find in it a great deal of material that mirrored you. You would perhaps get a great deal of confirmation bias, which is the expression for the feeling of, "yes, I believe this, too, so it must be accurate!" Or, alternatively, you might feel as I did when I saw Juno: I, who had been a teen single mom, got mad at the rosy posey depiction of the parents of a young mother just letting her hang out again with the baby dad. Like everything was keen-a-reeno. Like her other friends treated her the same. Like SHE was the same?! So, yes, because of situational similarities causing salience, I remember those movies quite well. I remember ANY books and movies which cause an emotional response higher than, say, a seven out of ten. This means they sank in. They resonated. They made me laugh, like Confederacy of Dunces. They made me cry, like Rascal. They made me think, and feel, and scorn, and fear, like Hey, Rube! and Cat's Cradle and Salmon of Doubt. So maybe people forget the material around them because it isn't worth remembering. Do you remember fast-food fries? Or do you remember going out to get lobster? Eating a sun-warmed apple in that windy orchard? Growing your own tomatoes and enjoying the first harvest? It's the richness that counts. So seek more rich, fulfilling, enticing books and movies. They're out there!

How can I find a movie if don't know it's name?

The best way I've found it's two fold:Try and remember any actor or specific incident that occurred in the movie. If you know the actor you can search through the IMDB and look through what films they've done.Second. There are tons of movie groups on Facebook. Try and find one for the genre of film and ask for help in identifying it.A semi recent example. I was trying to find a movie from the 80s.. I distinctly remember the opening with a boy and girl. She's opening a valentine from another boy and they mock him. She leaves and comes back to the boy dead hung up on a coat rack. Someone recognized it as “The Hospital Massacre” while another assured that it also goes more under the title “X-Ray”. Come to find out it's actually available on Blu Ray.

During the movie Coraline there was a preview for a movie I can't remember the name to?

During the previews before Coraline there was this preview for this movie that had a little, alien like creature in it that was made by some man to save the world or something like that. It was a rather creepy movie and I really want to see the trailer again. I think the title was a number or something. Does anyone know the name?
