What is a 4D Television?
4DTV is the name of a TVRO consumer satellite receiver technology manufactured by Motorola for use with large-diameter parabolic dish antennas on the C and Ku frequency bands on multiple satellites. It can tune both analog NTSC/VideoCipher 2 and digital DCII satellite signals.

The most memorable television ad I’ve ever seen is this one promoting the country Georgia as a tourist destination, and the national dance company Sukhishvili.It’s over 3 minutes long so I doubt it’d be seen on commercial telly, but it must have been made to see on televisions somewhere, perhaps in tourist agencies. Or maybe it’s intended for cinemas. I can easily imagine watching it on rows of those huge home theatre screens everywhere you look in a TV showroom, or in 3D on an IMAX screen. Overwhelming in the best way!As an ad I know it’s successfully sucked in at least one viewer - me. I definitely want to visit Georgia and see Sukhishvili!
Have you seen a really good movie lately?
I went to see Last Vegas and it is a movie aimed at older people. It has an all star cast. It got a sorta bad review but the reviewer must have been young and so the jokes didn't really apply to him. They are things that only older people have insight into. Also I read on Aarp that we older folks need to go to the movies made for us and support them so that they make more. I waited for The Best Marigold Hotel and it never came here. They said there was no audience for it. I want to see Mr. Banks and in cleaning off my desk...at least one very large old pile today...I found a gift card to the local cinema. I like Tom Hanks and find all his movies excellent. Morgan Freeman is in Last Vegas along with Robert DeNiro and Micheal Douglas and they are all good and...I left out...Kevin Kline. I usually don't go for comedies but I laughed all the way through it...and Morgan Freeman doesn't make bad movies nor does Micheal Douglas. I did go see Gravity in 3D mainly because it was in 3D and I hadnt seen one of those since I was a kid. The movie was made for 3D and without it, much would be lost. Do you remember the man that played...I think...Wild Bill Hickok and he played in an oldie 3D cowboy movie and in a bar fight a beer mug was thrown and I remember ducking. That didn't happen in Gravity but there are some great scenes in space.
Why don't film theaters show TV shows?
I agree with Jon Lawrence's answer, but would add some technical spec stuff, all of which would also cost money to accomplish:Aspect ratio. Movie screens and TV screens are different shapes, and therefore TV shows would have to be edited into the correct aspect ratio in order to look right on a movie screen. (That's why you always have that pesky notice about "this film has been modified to fit your screen" on DVD's and TV viewings of movies. It's an aspect ratio thing that is true whether you convert from movies to TV or vice versa.) As a side note, it's a big pet peeve of mine these days when TV commercials are played in theaters, without any adjustment to aspect ratio.Resolution. If you're talking about older TV shows, they weren't generally shot in a resolution that is appropriate for a much bigger screen. Nowadays most of what you see across both platforms is shot in HD...so this would mostly be an issue with older shows.Different broadcast standards. If you're producing a video for TV, you have to make sure that your whites don't burn out your audio, and that your reds don't bleed. I have not found either of these to be a problem when producing video intended for a movie screen.
