I Slipped On Ice And Landed On My Hands And Now My Hand Hurts

I fell off my bike and landed on my hand and now it hUrts when I put pressure on it, please help?! ?

The Purple and bump is called a Contusion.( A raised bruise forming.)
If your able to move your hand or wrist, you didn't fracture anything.
Usually with rest, ice, a compression bandage (ACE bandage) and Elevation you should
be fine soon and back riding your bike.
It will feel sore, for awhile...but you could take an anti-inflammatory medication like Ibuprofen.
and keep it wrapped in the elastic Ace bandage for support and protection....Good Luck!

I slipped and fell down and now my lower back hurts. What do I do now?

It depends on where exactly you are feeling the pain as to how to treat it.Firstly you should go to a professional physiotherapist or doctor to get a scan to properly diagnose what it is.I am not a physiotherapist and can’t give advice but can tell you how I have fixed my own lower back issues through physiotherapy and a lot self treatment. Also, is the pain radiating down one of your legs? Or up into your lower back area?If it is down one of the legs, it is possible you have some compression in one of the the lower lumbar discs. To help alleviate this, you can decompress it by putting your lower back in traction - easiest way I could do this was to let my legs hang while in a dip station (see pic):It’s the best pic I could find. You don’t need to raise the legs or work your abs, just breathe, relax and let them hang for 20–30 seconds at a time. This will take a lot of pressure off the spine. You can also lay on the ground and have a friend lift and pull your legs or think of your own variation. If the pain is radiating upwards, it is likely an issue with your gluteus minimus or gluteus medius. To help this, you need to stretch and massage it to release it. See pics:If you google or type ‘glute stretch and massage’ into youtube you will find a wealth of info on how to do it and will explain better than I could :)That is just a start. You still should go to have it professionally diagnosed but these exercises will help alleviate the pain.I hope this helps.

Fell from a handstand today and now my neck hurts. Heat or ice?

Oh my gosh! I did the same thing-but in dance. And I was doing floor work. Lol. Anyways my mom told me to do 'neck circles' and then like Jake said 10 minutes ice, 10 minutes heat. Also you could go get a neck message after whatever you have tomorrow.

I slipped over and fell on my hand, how should I treat it?

Today (about 12 hours ago, so yesterday actually..) I slipped over in the bathroom - floor was wet.. and landed on my hand. It isn't swollen and doesn't hurt that much but there is a really uncomfortable pain in my middle finger that goes all the way from my wrist to tip of finger. I have it wrapped up in a bandage, should I keep it on? And well I said it doesn't hurt, but it's getting worse and worse.
-I really don't want to take panadol or anything.
So I think it's just bruised or sprained. How should I treat it? Thank you! (:

Fell on my hand now my elbow hurts?

I fell backwards and caught myself with my hand. When it happened, my hand went numb. It happened last night. It still hurts when I go to straighten it or bend it more.
It hurts like it kinda needs to pop, but I'm scared to just straighten it and see what happens because it hurts.
I haven't seen a doctor, and I don't think I can. My parents say that I may have sprained it, but that's not what it feels like.
I have been taking aleve and keeping ice on it. I have also been moving it about five times every hour so my muscles don't weaken.

Can someone possibly tell me what this is, what I can do and what'll happen when I straighten it?
Going to the dr really isn't an option.
PLEASW HELP!!

What happens when you put your hand in icy water for an extended period of time?

I’m pretty sure I did at least 15 minutes, but it was my feet.Long story short, they had a lot of ice, a kiddie pool, and a hose at a camp I went to during the summer. Ice into kiddie pool, just enough water to fill, and the promise of an extra prize for the kid who could stand in the pool the longest. Most of them were out in 1–3 minutes, until it was me and this other kid.The initial pain came back after a few minutes, but then I could have stood in the pool all day because I couldn't feel them at all. Finally, the other kid stepped out, and I was declared the winner.Only problem? I couldn’t move because I couldn’t feel my feet (and they were now dark purple)The counselors’ solution? Lift me out and spray my feet with the high-powered hose filled with sun-warmed water. If I would have known any curse words at that tender age, I would have said all of them. The pain I felt then is unrivaled by my other painful experiences. To top it off, I never did get that prize…and my parents never sent me back after that.Looking back, I’m just glad I didn’t lose my feet! (However, it seems that I’m actually pretty resilient, because looking at some statistics, I would have surely gotten frostbite by then!)If you did the same thing, but with hands, I’m pretty sure you would follow the same path I did, ending in your hands turning black and having to be amputated.Don’t do it - take it from 9-year-old me.

I fell on my hand today and my pinky hurts, should I be worried?

Put an ice pack on it. If that helps, monitor it over the next few days as it is probably fine. If the ice pack makes it hurt more, go see your doctor.

Has anybody ever have their feet and hands hurt while smoking meth?

Ok so I've seen this before in friends of mine & it's happened to me before. Could be a few things…dehydration, bad circulation from the dope use causing vascular problems, could just be a side effect of binge dope using & I've actually read somewhere that it could be a particular cut in the dope causing it. Whatever causes it please see your doctor if the pain persists or gets worse. I remember back in the day if I binge used my hands & feet would sometimes turn red & feel like pins & needles, sometimes getting numb. It went away when I quit using. Be safe, friend.

Cuts/Scrapes on my hand BURNING?

I fell off of my bike earlier today... I feel on my palms and both are badly scraped up. Both hands are burning like crazy, it's 2:21... and I haven't been able to sleep because of it. It's also very difficult and painful to move both hands. I had to bike a few miles after I fell to get back home, and when I did I put bactine and neosporin on them but still nothing is really helping and it's really painful. Does anyone have any suggestions as to help the burning stop and make it so I can move my hands again without limitation and pain? Thanks!

I hurt my elbow, now my hand is numb and swollen?

If the part of your hand that is numb is your pinkie finger and the side of your ring finger that is closest to your pinkie then you have definitely done something to the nerve that runs underneath the elbow. This nerve is called the Ulnar Nerve. You might be experiencing some numbness in your palm under you pinkie finger too. You could have just bruised it pretty good. But, as in my case, the nerve actually got trapped in the bone under the elbow. I had to have a surgery called an "Ulnar Nerve Transposition". Basically the surgeon made an incision about 8 inches long, moved the nerve to the inside of my arm and stitched it in place. I haven't had any problems ever since and if I ever hit my elbow now I don't get the shock of pain in my arm anymore. But if I hit the inside of my arm where the nerve is now....it is horrible!! I would guess that it is just badly bruised right now. Keep it iced and elevated. If it's not remarkably better in 3 or 4 more days then definitely make an appointment with your doctor so he/she can refer you to a specialist. I saw an orthopedic surgeon for mine. He had me go get a nerve conduction test done that measures whether the nerve is being blocked. I hope it's just bruised and you are feeling better soon :)
