I Think I Shrunk In Height

I think I've shrunk an inch in height?

It was either the measuring that screwed up one of the times or you standing in a different way. I'm 6'5, but every time my dad measures me I'm like 6'2 which is obviously not right, I think he does it so I won't be too much taller than him.

Can our height shrink as a teen?

I did, actually. So, yes. But it's not natural.Actually, in my case, I would be 4'11" instead of 4'10" if not for that height loss… It might not seem like much, but when you're short, it matters… and I suspect that the reason behind the decrease is actually an effect of my long-term bad posture. Using a computer 12 hours a day and developing forward head posture has made it impossible look like I am "standing up straight" even when I do my best. This could actually have taken an inch or a half off my full height. My point here is that, yes, it happens; people can lose height in their teen years — and there are more reasons for that than the other answers have already pointed out.

Has Prince Philip's height shrunk

Thank you for the A2A.It is common for people to lose height as they grow older. Prince Philip is 94, so he's definitely getting up there in years. It isn't so noticeable when Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth stand next to each other because they've both lost height due to the normal process of ageing. Elizabeth has always been about Philip's eye height and she still is, it's just that they are both losing height at about the same rate.Guesstimating from Barack Obama, I'd say Philip has lost about 4 inches which is par for the course.

How did my height shrink? I'm only 16 years old...?

When I was in middle school my height was 5'10 1/2, I remember we measured at home once, and when I went to the doctor they also said that my height is 5'10 1/2. Now I'm like 5'9, because I remember when they measured my height at school in health class to check everyone's blood pressure, they said I was 5'8 1/2, and when I went to the doctor not too long ago, they said I was 5'9. I don't get it, what can possibly make my height shrink?

When I was in middle school I used huff fixative matte - http://www.cheapjoes.com/prismacolor-spray-fixative-matte.html, but not that much. Also I overdosed on pills during middle school, when I went to the hospital they said my bloodstream had like 10 grams of aspirin, a week later I got stomach ulcers and difficulties with constipation due to it, so I laid down a lot. I was pretty lazy in middle school, not much physical activity. Also I drank a lot of pop during middle school, which I heard can stunt my growth. Damn, what the hell was wrong with me in middle school? Anyways, do these things have anything to do with my height shrinking?

Does any of these things make you shrink in height or is this just a rumour?

Don't know about coffee drinking and height - I think that's probably an old wives' tale.

Shrinking in height usually occurs due to a few things, such as:
(a) fractured vertebrae due to an accident or osteoporosis - the latter is related to excess coffee drinking, but is not the only cause of osteoporosis

(b) compression of the discs in the back - from being in an accident or involvement in activities like skydiving where you land hard on your feet rather than rolling upon landing. There are numerous stories about race car drivers who have been in serious accidents and have lost up to 4" in height.

I think i shrunk, is that possible?

Yes, you've got the shrinks. Unless you get a good stretching, you can expect to disappear very soon.

You are shrunk to the height of a nickel and your mass is proportionally reduced so as to maintain your original density. You are then thrown into an empty glass blender. The blades will start moving in 60 seconds. What do you do?

EDIT: I misinterpreted as I skimmed over the “height” element of the question. :(I’ve heard a lot of people say jump out. That makes pretty fun sense, until you realize the real answer is: there would be no blender left to kill you.My logic — (someone show me how this is incorrect):Based on conservation of mass/energy, if I were immediately shrunk down to the size of a nickel it would mass destruct the whole area.An average human is 65kg. That’s 65,000 grams.A nickel is 5 grams. So 65,000g/5g leaves you with 13,000.1 (the nickel worth of mass you would be) / 13,000 = .0000765,000*.00007 =4.55Let’s subtract your new potential mass from your current mass.65,000–4.55 = 64,995.45 (that difference is really not important in the grand scheme but, here we are)This means that you have 64,995.45 grams of mass being converted to energy if you immediately shrink to the size of a nickel. Those grams if converted to Joules would be 5,841,499,728,182,989,408 Joules(Basically 6 Quintillion)For reference, a firecracker going off is about 500 Joules of energyThat means you have about 6 Quintillion Joules / 500 Joules worth of firecrackers going off at once. That’s like 12 Trillion firecrackers. There is not a blender to put you in. There is not a room to put the blender in. There is not… You get the idea. That’s why my answer is: there is no blender.

Is it possible to shrink in height?

I'm a 16 year old girl and around 5'2" ~ 5'3". I haven't grown much since I was 13. Last time I was at the doctors, he said I've grown about 1/4 of an inch. I also have markings on my wall at home where I check if I've grown. I've had the markings there since I was a toddler. Anyway, my grown seems to have stopped about 3 years ago like I said, but today I measured myself, and I shrunk by almost 2cm. How is this possible? I feel like I'm starting to look younger too. Someone thought I was a 12 year old.. Maybe I'm worrying about it too much.

My grandma is shrinking in height because of her bones, but I'm too young to have that (hope it's not genetic, I'm already short as it is!). I recently broke a bone my ankle 2 months ago and am recovering now. I also lost about 10lbs because I'm on a diet. Do you think it has anything to do with shrinking in height? Sorry if this was long.. Thank you for answering. :)

Is it possible to shrink in height?

Your spine being curved can result in height 'reduction'.
Maybe she measured herself before (Inaccurately) then again accurately.
