Lauren, this can be solved. Two options in addition to the olive oil, which your first reply mentioned. Try mild heat for a long period, like a heating pad on low held against the ear for a half hour or so. This can soften the wax so much that it may come out easily. But if it doesn't, hit the drug store. They sell ear wax removal kits, a bottle of drops of this stuff that softens the wax, and a small bulb syringe you fill with warm water to flush out the wax. These work really well. My brother thought he was losing hearing until he used one.

Hi Kevboy It's an awful feeling isn't it! My ENT(ear, nose, throat) doc, (an otolaryngologist), told me to use a few drops of hydrogen peroxide in my ear. Lie down blocked ear up and drop a few drops of perioxide in your ear. It will feel cold and may cause you to cringe when it works through to the ear drum. Then it will start to bubble and that sounds and feels weird. After it quits bubbling hold some tissues to your ear when you sit up. The warmth from the bubbling will have caused the wax to liquefy enough to flow back out of the ear. He now as me do it as a preventative every few months. I have to do it because my ear canal is narrower that usual. But since you know why you have the blockage you won't have to do it more than once. I hope this helps you.

Sometimes I get really bad earwax clogs in my ear, and I use debrox to get it out. Today in my left ear I used debrox, and tried to flush out the ear wax, but it wasn't working, so I did something stupid and put the ear syringe bulb deep into my ear and tried to suck the ear wax out. I think I pushed it deeper in because now my ear feels really clogged and I tried debrox again and it didn't come out this time. My dad suggested a qtip and I was also....really stupid again and put the qtip all the way into my ear and it pressed on something (which really freaked me out because I've never hit anything in my ear before with a qtip.) Is that just a glob of earwax I pushed too far into my ear? I've tried flushing it out for about a half hour now and it won't come out. Should I try debrox again tomorrow, or should I go see a doctor. I'm just paranoid that I did something to my hearing, because I can barley hear anything, but my ear feels really clogged up. So, what should I do? Even suction with my hand on my ear isn't working (and hurts too!) I have to go to work tomorrow half deaf...

Mix water and hydrogen peroxide 50/50 and pour in your ear and let it set for about 10 mins. Repeat is necessary. What helps a great deal is a bulb blaster ( I don't know if that's the name for it) they come with ear wax cleaning kits and they are are also used to suck snot out of a baby's nose. You can spray very warm water in your ear canal, along with the hydrogen peroxide cleaning, it will flush the wax out.
I just pulled a big chunk of earwax from my right ear. Now I hear stuff too clearly. What do I do?
Pull the big chunk from your left ear. You now have super hearing and can become a superhero.

You can buy ear drops from the pharmacy. If you have some olive oil, warm some up and soak some cotton wool in it and squeeze it into your ear and leave in for a while with a little cotton wool, to save it from running out. Do this a couple of times in the week. Never push anything sharp in your ear because you can perforate the eardrum. Try 24hrs after the first time, to rinse it out in the shower if you can. Then if not cleared, do it again. If it continues and you can`t hear properly, go to your docs and get your ears syringed.
I just saw a doctor to get my ears cleaned due to excessive earwax buildup. I think it was caused by my in-ear headphones pushing earwax into the canal. Am I correct with this assumption?

I'm 13 & my earwax has gone in DEEPER!! CLOGGED ears!!!??
I'm 13 & I'm a girl. I visited the doctor several times a year because I have a problem of wax blockage. The doctor usually prescribe a bottle of ear drops & usually it'll be gone in 5 days after using the prescription ear drops. But last month, I was desperate so I accidentally probed my ears with cotton buds & the buds pushed the wax in deeper! We went to the doctor again the next day for a check up & he said there's nothing there because the doctor only checked the outer part of the canal using an otoscope. So, probably the wax has gone in deeper. What should I do now?! Drops WON'T work because I tried to use the ear drops (that the doc prescribed) left over for 2 weeks but it didn't work! It's been about a month, and I still can't hear clearly!! I'm scared! PLEASE HELP!!
