My friend is injecting himself with steroids?
Hey, we all want to look our best, right? The question is...at what price? I've known a few guys that have used steroids for the sole purpose of just wanting to look bigger and more muscular. Basically, it's just stupid and foolish, but they wouldn't listen either. It is common knowledge that the possible health concerns and other complications can cause permanent damage. Arnold Schwarzenegger lost a kidney due to prolonged steroid use/abuse. Additionally, a resulting condition is atrophy of the genitalia...quite contrary to enhancing ones manhood, and no man wants that! In the end when one stops taking the steroids, the bulk was simply a facade, where the body withers back to its prior state. The real question might be...why does Gerald feel that he needs to look like something other than who he is? If he can deal with his mental and emotional issues with some effect, then he won't need that bulk, and if he wants to improve his physical condition, then he just needs to get and stay on the diet and excessive program...just like the rest of us. :) There's no such thing as magic here.

You have to understand that it was a totally different country back then—WAY before the anti-steroid hysteria, and the reclassification of anabolic steroids as schedule III drugs.Steroids were easily obtained, and you didn't have to worry about the man kicking down your door and sending you to prison—because you simply wanted to improve your physique.In the eighties, you would scan the back pages of the bodybuilding magazines for an ad selling a steroid handbook for some minimal price—two dollars comes to mind. You’d send them a couple bucks, but they wouldn't send you a steroid handbook, nope, they knew what you were after. They’d send you a complete steroid price list and ordering instructions. (pre-internet, kids)Finally, another reason why they all used steroids was because it was before they began having separate clean, or natural bodybuilding contests. So even if a bodybuilder started off competing for Mr. Universe without using steroids, he would've been pretty much forced to start using them if he wanted to stand a chance against his steroid taking rivals. It was hard enough competing with genetic freaks like Schwarzenegger—how about competing against Schwarzenegger on steroids.

Lol yes The Rock is on steroids.It is not possible to have the type of size the Rock has with his level of bodyfat without being on steroids.For public persona reasons, he will never admit to it. No, the word "steroid" is a generic term for any chemical compound with 4 fused carbon rings. Cholesterol is a steroid, as are a lot of things. Anabolic steroids are a subgroup of steroids which include testosterone and derivatives that induce cellular buildup (i.e muscle growth) and as a possible side effect when taken externally (and usually improperly, I might add) can cause shrinking of the genitals. The steroids used to treat asthma are not the same as anabolic steroids. So the side effects of anabolic steroids should not be a concern.
What does it feel like to be on steroids? Does it change your personality?
I’ll give a answer from my personal experience, which isn’t scientific, but I’ve spent many years in the bodybuilding community and spend a big chunk of my life in the gym and around people who take steroids.What does it feel like? For me, a man in his early 40s, it feels great… and I think most people who use testosterone would agree. You get an overall feeling of well-being, along with increased energy, strength and focus. It’s not like being high, it’s much more subtle. You get a spring in your step. Also if you are cycling with straight testosterone, your libido will go through the roof. I’ve had unwanted erections in inappropriate places, like being a boy again. Your body’s powers of recovery will become super-human, which is the key to the success of steroids in bodybuilding. You can do an intense PB-busting session of heavy squats and then wake up the next day not even knowing you trained legs.Does it change your personality? For me - categorically, no. I’ve got a fairly normal life, with the usual stuff like friends, a family, kids, job, etc, etc. I’ve never flown into an uncontrollable roid rage, no-ones ever commented on personality changes and I’ve never had depression - I’m generally a happy person - and I’ve never become violent or being involved in a violent incident. It’s not just me either - I know plenty of people who do steroids and show no signs of personality changes. Of course this isn’t scientific, it’s anecdotal, but I’ve seen nothing that suggests to me otherwise.The general rule of thumb is: If someone is a JERK, then yes, steroids have a chance of making them even more of a jerk. If someone is a normal, decent human being, then steroids won’t change that.
