I Took Out My Ear Piercing After 6 Weeks And It Bled And Swelled

Ear piercing bleeding and hurts a little after 6 weeks?

I got my second holes done at Claire's 6 weeks ago. (I know it was a bad idea because they use the gun. Going to a professional next time.) Anyway, I cleaned and turned them regularly. But when it finally came time to take them out, they began to bleed a little. My left ear bled a little but that quickly stopped and it's healing fairly nicely.

But... my right one bleeds the most and even hurts a little. (NOT a lot. Just a tad.) When I took the other studs out, it feels as if there's a lump of... Stuff in my ear, and when I try to squeeze it out of the hole, it just keeps bleeding. It's all red. Just blood. But still. Also, when I put the piercing back in, it goes all the way through without any pain.. BUT it seems as if the hole is kind of swollen because it covers most of the post so when I put the back on, it's kind of tight in my ear.

Also, from time to time, I notice some clear liquid coming out of both ears.

I hope this is making sense.

Is it infected, or is there some puss like substance inside my ear hole?

Ear piercing bleeding and pus?

clean the earing
then clean your ear with a little salt water
the infection/swelling should clear up :)

Ear piercing bleeds after 6 weeks in.?

You probably need to only use hypoallergenic earrings. Avoid anything that says it contains nickel. Sterling silver would be best and make sure you clean it before putting it in. I used to have that same problem. You need to start pouring rubbing alcohol on it-- front and back-- every morning and every night and leave an earring in at all times. Yes, you can put Neosporin on it as well, but I'm afraid it won't do much w/o using alcohol. It might take about a week to get better. But if you start getting fevers, swelling, or nausea, you definitely have an infection and need to go to the dr ASAP.

good luck! hope it feels better.

Ear piercing sore, swollen, and bleeding?

I got my ears pierced for the first time like 8 weeks ago (I've changed my earrings now). I cleaned them well and have had no problems with them (other than minor sore-ness, but cleaning them always makes it go away) other than last night. My left ear got incredibly sore, so I went to take my earring out. I pulled the slightest bit and all of sudden, the hole was bleeding. It bled quite a bit, swelled, and got really hot. I put ice on it to get the swelling down, and alcohol to clean it out. I put my earring back in so the hole wouldn't close up over night and went to bed. Do I have an infected ear? Nothing disgusting came out of it or nothing wrong was happening until last night when it began to hurt. What should I do now? My ear still hurts and is swollen. Thanks!

I changed my ear piercings after 3 weeks and one started bleeding when I took it out to change it. What should I do?

I used to manage a tattoo and piercing shop, the same company from the show Inked. It’s important to remember that keeping your piercing clean is the number one rule, and part of making sure that rule is abided by, is also making sure that you don’t touch your ears as much as possible. Using soap without perfumes, alcohols, and scents is preferred as not to agitate the ear. You are smart for waiting the three weeks before changing, but what alarms me is that you’re bleeding. This could be from a few different things.Obviously, the piercing could simply be irritated, and you may take longer to heal. This is a common misconception that is often confused with an infected piercing. The piercing should not be sore after three weeks, and it should not bleed. However, just like tattoos, everyone heals differently.Something else to pay attention to is the way they pierced your ear. If you had it pierced at a piercing kiosk in the mall, you’re probably realizing it was a bit more painful than you thought it’d be. The standard “piercing gun” is the worst way to pierce your ears. It traumatizes the ear. Ear piercing should be done with a sterile hollow needle, and your jewelry should NOT be metal, but instead, surgical grade titanium - the same material used in surgeries and implants. The quickest way to get an infection is to keep touching the piercing with your fingers. Every single piece of bacteria on your hand is being virtually wiped into your piercing every time you touch it or twirl it, or play with it.Without looking at it in person, it’s quite hard to say, “okay, THIS is why your ear is bleeding.”Your best bet is to go right back to the shop you got your ears pierced at, and ask for input towards this situation. Have a licensed piercer look at it and give their professional opinion.Don’t wait to do it, just go. Get your answer and start taking care of it.

Ear lobe piercing bleeds after a week, is it normal?

You may have dislodged a little scab. Complete healing of the tunnel takes about 6 weeks. Until then, don't take out your earrings, clean with an antiseptic, apply a tiny bit of vaseline to keep it moist and improve healing. Turn your earrings daily, and don't mess with them except when you are cleaning, etc. If you develop heavier bleeding, drainage, odor, swelling, increased pain and/or a fever of greater than 100.6, you should see a health care provider for evaluation. Good Luck

I got my ear lobe pierced a week ago and now it’s swollen, kind of warm, and it hurts. Should I panic?

I would not panic, but I also wouldn't let all worry out of my head. I will alway recommend seeing a physician if your piercing gets swollen and warm. Yes, it could resolve on its own. But with piercings, an infection can go from being a little warm and swollen to filled with pus and swollen three times larger in just a few hours. If you go to the doctor now, it's easily fixed. You take some preventative antiobiotics, or you get treatment for an allergy and it's over. If you don't, it may pass on its own. Or it can become so infected you need surgery . Google “infected ear piercing.” The smallest irritation can turn into a nightmare. So, why not do the easy thing and have it looked at by a doctor while there's not much to worry about? It could save your ear.I have 18 ear piercings, and three other piercings. I had never gotten an infection until my very last one, my 18th ear piercing. Like you, it was just a little red, and a little warm. There was also just one small drop of pus. I went to the urgent care, and the doctor couldn't stress enough how glad he was I came. He had all kinds or stories about all kinds of terrible infections. He said it didn't look bad, but that I needed antibiotics anyway. He gave me the antibiotics and cleaning instructions. The first antibiotics didn't work, so I got a different kind. And voila, nothing to worry about.People will argue that we shouldn't take so many antibiotics, and that it makes us immune to them. And that's true. But they will use that as a reason not to go to the doctor, and in that, they are completely wrong. You ARE supposed to take antibiotics for infections, and to prevent them. Antibiotics are for infections, and only a doctor can decide if you don't need antibiotics. This would be the right time to take them, if the doctor decides you need them.If you decide not to follow my advice, which I don't recommend (piercers and doctors agree with me), do NOT clean you piercing with hydrogen peroxide. Alcohol and peroxide damage the tissue in cuts (a piercing is a cut), and prolong healing. Use plain, non-scented soap and warm water to gently clean the piercing twice a day, and use triple-antibiotic ointment after you do. Take your temperature several times a day. If you have a fever, if you see pus, if it starts swelling more, go to the doctor. No arguments. But, really: go now.Good luck with your piercing, and at the doctor's.

I pierced my earlobes 4 weeks ago, and now one of the piercings is bleeding. Is it infected?

They might be, but more likely you would have traces of greenish-white pus oozing out of the piercing if it were infected. Did you do the piercing yourself? Did you use wires or studs? Wires are measurably thinner and piercings that have healed with wires are often too small for studs. Have you been turning them everyday like winding a clock (back and forth motion)? Have you been using an ear wash or rubbing alcohol twice daily? If you had your ears pierced at a shop or mall, they would have told you all this or given you a pamphlet to read explaining what to do with your new piercings. If you did it at home, you might not have known what to do. They would also have used locking studs at a mall..Now since it’s been four weeks, you have two options.1) You can take the earrings out, let the piercing close up and try again later—professionally next time with a sterile ear piercing gun and proper studs (which are usually a tiny fraction larger in diameter than regular earring posts or wires, and likely 14k gold or gold plated, not cheap mixed metal.) After four weeks, you may or may not end up with a little knot in the place where it was pierced this time.Or, 2) you can wait a while longer doing the winding and washing and see if it clears up, since you are only getting blood, not pus, they may just be healing and not been turned enough. If not turned enough the flesh can begin to stick to the wire or post, rather then healing around it and forming a proper hole. Using the ear wash will ensure they don’t get infected from here on out, provided they aren’t already. Good luck!

Swollen ear piercing and bleed after taking out starter studs?

I pierce the middle part of the cartilage on my left ear a few days ago.
At first it was all normal and nothing happen but i think i accidently hit it or lie on it while sleeping ;( Then it start to swell but there was no sign of redness around my stud.
After placing ice around it and a few days had passed, the swell had gotten smaller and i thought it was back to normal.
BUT ! This morning when i woke up, it swell again and throughout my whole day at school, i can totally feel the tightness of the earring on my ear and it feels super ultimate uncomfortable ;(
So after i went home, i just wanted to loosen the stud as it seems like the stud was trap in my swollen meat ! When i tugged it to loosen, the entire stud came out and my ear hole started to bleed. ;( I clean the ear with wet cotton and wipe it dry, I have already place a ear stick (that's what i have for all my other ear hole). When i look at the ear hole, it has obviously became bigger and the inside is red (due to blood, i think) . After i cleaned the blood away, it didn't bleed anymore but it has this watery thing.

I really don't wish to close the hole because i really like it and i dont want to visit the doctor either.
Also, the ear hole was done by a piercing gun (which all my other ear hole also use) and there isnt any professional shops around here ~
Please tell me it is not infection because i hear then it is dangerous to remove the stud if i have infection. T^T

Btw, it doesnt really hurt like hell but it's kinda sore ;(
