I ****** Up And Got A Felons .

Can I still get section 8 if I have a felony?

It is up to each regional housing agency if they have restrictions baring a convicted felon from participating in the program. Considering you can't avoid the fact you have the felony nor hide that you have it (it will surface) I would prepare a statement regarding how you learned constructively from the situation and how you have put this behavior behind you noting favorable records for post release drug screenings and possibly list a parole or a probation officer as a referral.

The truth is, section 8 only covers the tab on the place to live. You forseeably will have more issues with the landlords you are hoping to rent from after you receive your voucher than the actual agency. A statement like the one mentioned will help your angle with property management companies. Again, the prop management companies will find about about the record, its almost unheard of for them not to pull an extension background search before renting on a section 8 voucher as in most states, there is little recourse other than hindering a collection judgment on a persons credit report as qualifying for section 8 basically makes your exempt from garnishment in most states.

Also, if you are able to get your voucher and get a landlord to rent you a place, don't mess up. The landlord knowing there is a drug record is going to keep pretty close tabs and not only will a violation deeply affect probation status but you will not be very likely to get a 2nd stab at section 8 if its found that you are using subsidized housing for drug related activities. All it takes is simple possession too.

Hope that helps

I got charged with a felony theft?

I have a question

*State of Indiana

*I took a plea agreement of probation and community service

*After completing my sentence the courts dropped the felony to a mister-meaner

*However, I am 90% sure, even though the courts dismissed or dropped the felony to a mister-meaner it will come up as a felony if a employer does a back ground check

*I looked up the Indiana State code trail and under 35-38-8 is a petition to restrict access to criminal history records. Unfortunately, I would have to wait 7-8 years to file

*So my question is: Is there any other way I could restrict access to my records?

Long story short! Friend and I was at a shopping store, she stole cloths and I knew she was stealing and I was the one driving.. So even though she was size 0 and I am a size 5, I got charged with the cloths she walked out with.

Please no rude comments. I'm just trying to look for other possibility's!
Thank you

UPM, brought up to a felony unless I become a CI?

So a few days ago I got arrested with a 2 other people. We had a half ounce of weed in the car in, and one of the friends had Suboxone on him with out a prescription. I didn't have any thing on my own person at all. At the station I was being interrogated or whatever, and admitted to smoking weed but said that the half ounce belonged to the driver (who sells) and that the suboxone belonged to the other friend who's actually prescribed it.
Basically the cops where saying something along the line of if the others don't admit that what I said was true that we would all face felony charges. Then the sargent proceeded to say hed cut a deal with me, and said that if I was to become an CI (Informant) hed drop all the charges. I basically said that I would have to talk to a lawyer before agreeing to anything like that.
Well basically both of the other people admitted their part in the whole thing. The one with the suboxone got a controlled substance offence which will likely get drooped. The kid with the weed either got a upm or intent to sell im not too shure on that. I got a UPM however one of the cops said that if I don't cooperate they will bring up new charges.
I mean im almost positive that they cant do that, that once you get charged with something its impossible for them to invent new ones. Now the Sargent is trying to get in to contact with me to set up a meeting, but I really really cant. I got arrested in a ghetto, im from the suburbs and just got out of rehab, im 19 years old and not trying to get shot. My court appearance is in a week, and I mean im like nearly positive that they cant really do any thing except like try to testify against me if I fight the UPM, and that they're just trying to scare me into being their *****. But at the same time, ive never been arrested so im not shure of what they can and cant do. If theres any one out there who could clear this up for me it would be Amazing.
