I Wanna Become A 10th Grade English Teacher.

Why do you want to be an English teacher?

Because I want to change the mentality of people. I wanted to help raise the awareness that learning english can get you somewhere. So innocent back then. Haha Back then I used to think by being an English teacher, I can help students to get out of their current living situation and explore the world.I was right and wrong ( you will know later if you read on).Learning English means that you get to go other countries without worries and people can understand you. Plus, if you score your English paper, the chances of you to get in the university is better, at least in my country. Or so I thought. And so, there I was doing my practical in a public school. I realised that the students don’t want any help. Well, they like their living situation (the place that I taught was full with students whose parents open up businesses). They are the future candidate to take care of their parents shop or whatever. So they think that learning English is not important (heck, learning anyhing is not important to them). They just have to get through school and continue what their parents did. I was surprised with answer. However, I did try to instill some of the good point of learning a language can get them somewhere, not just out of the state. But more to out of the country. However, that and there was another whole mess with the school system got me really thinking about teaching again. I didn’t teach again after. When I finish my degree, I worked in customer service instead. But who knows, in the future maybe I will continue teaching again.

10 Grade Honors English?

I'm going to be in 10th grade this year and I chose to be in honors biology. I already am enrolled in AP government for one semester and AP economics for another. I am taking spanish 3 and academic geometry. I dropped honors english since I was in it 9th grade and I found it pretty difficult and was up til 1:00 am finishing reading and I never had time to do any other activites like hanging out with friends and joining clubs so I chose acadmic english this year. I find government and economics very easy and interesting so I believe the AP classes will be easy. Although I'm not sure if I should have taken honors english or stayed with honors bio since I didn't want to do both. I hope I made the right decision. I wouldn't want to be stressed out again in honors english and in academic english I never tried and always got an A but honors I always put 110% and my teacher would give me C's and on rare situations B's. My science teacher in 9th grade requested me for honors bio since I find science comes easy to me and he felt I would do great in that class. Sorry for making this so long. Any feedback would be great. Thanks

Requirements to become a preschool teacher?

first i'm going to suggest you review your plans, and maybe define what you mean by "pre-k teacher".

working in a daycare sometimes called "preschool" is much , much different than being a pre-k teacher.

a pre-k teacher is a member of the regular faculty at an elementary school or other licensed educational institution and requires teacher certification.

teacher certification varies from state to state, but licenses are generally transferable, with proper paperwork, fees, and sometimes additional coursework. a bachelor's degree in education (which includes at least one internship) is generally considered the bare minimum requirement for certification, although there are programs that will ft you for teaching if you come from other fields.

if you expect to be a counselor at a school, you should expect to have at least a master's degree in a related field, e.g., psychology, counseling, or education with a strong background in counseling. you will require additional licensure for this.

in the field of corrections, you may only be required to have a high school diploma although many agencies are looking for bachelor's degrees.

maybe as you go through your remaining time in high school you might see if you can gain a little more focus about what you'd really like to do for a career, or perhaps you may wish to broaden your study base to be more general so that when you finally decide on a direction, you'll have a foundation.

corrections and early education aren't very closely related fields, unless we look at the causality of criminal behaviors, so unless you've got your heart set on working in both those fields it might be best to work toward one.

We didn't get into the AP English Track, because we were not gifted. Is this fair?

It is possible that the gifted kids just did better overall on the requirements to get in, meaning, it may just be a coincidence that only gifted kids got in. Doesn't sound like it, though.

What I think is unfair is that they had interested students do an essay to try to get in. If they made a decision to admit only gifted kids, they shouldn't have had others do the essay, because that implied they had a chance when they really didn't.

It won't ruin your life, however. You don't need a special lit class to take the English AP. You do need a composition class at a certain level, but Honors English should be enough to allow you to take the AP exam.

Think about whether you really want to appeal. If you're sure you can make an A in it, fine. However, it's far better to have an A in Honors English than a B in AP English. It's strictly college prep stuff; it won't get you ahead in Journalism.

Get over not being "gifted." Often it's the kids that apply themselves who do the best, not the gifted ones who coast. You do say you work harder than the gifted kids, so you apparently notice a difference. Often a kid is labeled gifted at some point just because he or she is a little ahead of the other kids, and the kid may not really be brighter. Ultimately, it's the ones who master the material who succeed in the long run. Once many gifted kids get to college, they can really flounder if they've been coasting, because college requires real work.
