I Want To Be A Pilot But .

I suck at math and i want to be a pilot?

Your eligibility with poor math skills depends on what country you live in. In the USA, very little math is needed to pass the written exams to become a pilot. However, since an applicant cannot be competitive for an airline job without a 4 years college degree, therein lies the rub. Most college degrees have a minimum math requirement for both acceptance and for graduation.

I want to be a pilot but I'm a girl.?

I'm a junior in high school and I started to look into career options. I realized that I love flying a lot. I've never flown a plane my parents wont allow me too. I love traveling and going on planes to me I feel at home in the sky. One problem I'm a girl and a lot of people have told me girls shouldn't be pilots and girls don't belong in the sky. I think this is the only career I'l be happy with. I don't want to have a boring job my whole life. I'm fascinated by aviation I want to be a commercial pilot. I've just never seen a women pilot in a commercial position its mostly men. So is it even worth it to pursue this career or should I pick another one? Can anyone female commercial pilots give me advice?

I want to be a pilot but I'm scared.?

I think every Pilot has that in the back of their mind, but the chances of that happening are very very small! You would not be given a license unless you were trained to such an extent that you were extremely unlikely to make a mistake.
If you know you'll be happier being a pilot then a business man then do it! Don't let fear stop you from being happy!
you only live once and life's about taking risks!
your life would be extremely boring and uneventful if you didn't take risks!
i say go for it :)

I want to be a pilot, but I'm a moron. Can I do it?

Yes, indeed. Many have gone before you.Along with all the rules and regulations, you must submit to the King, gravity. Gravity rules all mass not firmly attached to the ground. Once you realize that your life will be significantly short if you violate gravity you can progress to Private Pilot. If your moroness continues to appear after making PPL, your license will be revoked or your short life will come to an abrupt end. Consider flight training an intervention for your moroness. When you are no longer considered to be a moron many people will invite you to backyard Bar-B-Ques.You too needent be a moron.

I want to be a pilot but I suck at physics ?

You should at least have GCSE "A" levels in mathematics and physics -
And add to that some geography and English -

You do not need top level knowledge, but it helps when you are training as pilot -
Or you will suffer understanding the basics of aeronautics or navigation -

That is either for RAF, or for civilian pilots -

I want to be a pilot, but I'm colorblind.?

Right now I'm a junior in high school and the time has come to decide what to do with my life. My dream job is to be a commercial airline pilot, but I'm colorblind. Because of this, it is very difficult to pass the medical. Even if I can't distinguish certain colors, what about the co-pilot? If he could confirm the colors, why is it such a big deal if I can't?

What can I do if I want to be a pilot but my maths and physics is lacking?

You and I, we’re in the same boat. It worked out for me, it’ll work out for you as well.Physics? Not sure why this is even in the ballpark of being a requirement but it was when I was applying for a spot in the Navy flight program. Where I went to college even the INTRO course was a tough class so I took it at a local community college … managed a B. If someone says its a requirement to get into their program and its where you want to go - do it. Otherwise don’t make it a big deal or a showstopper.Math however, is essential anywhere in life. In the aviation arena if you are solid with the basics (add, subtract, multiply, divide) and can manage geometry and a little bit of algebra (even this is a stretch)- you’ll be fine. You simply have to put in the time and work at developing that part of your brain which deals effectively with ‘numbers’. Sorry, no easy answer here.In the end, all of it takes work; academics, flight planning, thinking ahead, developing your memory capacity, attention to detail, etc. Once you commit to aviation and launch headfirst > much of this will develop via repetition and work ethic and as result of forming good habit patterns. While all pilots need the aforementioned things to be foundationally solid, the one thing that makes an average pilot into a great one is ‘feel’ or ‘instinct’. Referred to as ‘seat of the pants’ flying, it’s an inherent sensory force or instinct that tells a pilot something isn’t quite right or something could be done to make it a little better. The seat of your pants will tell you more (and quicker) important stuff about flying an airplane than a book ever will. THIS cannot be taught out of a physics or math book! Think in terms of Blue Angels or the Thunderbirds. These guys are the best at what they do because they not only master the academic side of flying but they also have great feel for not only what the airplane is doing but what it’s capable of doing. For now, get to work on your math studies. Cheers, sr

I want to be a pilot but my eyesight is bad?

Lasik/ PRK is accepted by all branches of the military. I fly for the Navy and had PRK myself. Whereas eyesight used to be a big deal back in the day, its a non-issue now. I wouldn't sweat it. Get glasses if your vision bothers you, but other than that, live your life, get a commission and then join the Navy when you're ready for the big leagues.

Edit: You don't need spectacular grades to fly for the military.

I want to become a pilot but i'm not good at maths?

When i grow up i would like to become a commercial pilot (With Monarch), i have been wanting to do this for nearly 7 years now. I'm 13, in year nine and live in England, UK. I have become a bit obsessive over becoming a pilot because i always imagine my self in that smart pilot uniform sitting in the cockpit. I am beginning some flying lessons soon, which i am really looking forward to!

However, i'm not the brightest in maths at all, i never understand things its just so hard.
I don't really know what to do i try really hard in my lessons at school hoping to get good grades but i don't feel i'm smart enough to become a pilot or ever will be. Although, I am extremely good with computers (if that helps?).

I know most pilots these days start in the RAF then make their way into major airlines but however silly this sounds, i'm afraid of getting killed and never being able to get into a major airline at all.
I thought about becoming a cargo pilot for a while then moving to major airlines but then realized you would need the same qualifications anyway.

Anyway, I'm just looking for a bit of advice to maybe help me for fill my dreams of becoming a pilot.

I'm out!
Luke
