I Want To Block An Email I Keep Getting. Cannot Find Where To Do This

I want to block an email I keep getting. cannot find where to do this?

Go to Settings under the gear and Blocked Addresses tab. Start adding addresses there to block them.

How do I Block a email I don't want to hear from any more?

Removing them from your address book AND clicking Spam on those emails----WILL NOT block them. You'll still get their emails---just in a different folder (the spam folder). You need to actually block them.

You can block the address, and Yahoo will delete any emails arriving from that address immediately----and you'll never see any of them.

The email will NOT be returned to them (Yahoo deletes it), and the sender isn't notified that he has been blocked (for security reasons).
They will think you're still getting their emails and are just ignoring them---HA---you're not.

Mail page>>options>>mail options>>Spam (from the list on the left)>>block addresses.
Enter that exact address in the space provided>>click "add block">>then click "save changes" at the top of the page.

How do i block unwanted bad emails?

You can not completely stop all spam, but you can help to put a big dent in it. These instructions are for Yahoo, but you can use them and find similar equivelants on the other sites.

First, try not to open any of them, that only makes them send more and more to you.
Check mark them and click on 'Spam,' this should stop those addresses from being delivered to your inbox.
Use your spam guard and block address.
Look for the 'Options' link at upper right corner of mail screen and click on it
Options /mail options
Click on 'spam' in the list on the left.
Make sure spam guard is on, by checking in the little box.
Then in 'Blocked Email Addresses,' enter the E-mail address you wish blocked, in the box after 'Add a blocked address' and click on the 'add' button, then click on save changes at top left of screen.
You will never get mail from that address again.
This should help you to control your spam.
Other tips:
Do not ever open E-mail from people you do not know; and unless you are absolutely sure who it is from then treat them as spam.
Opening spam alerts the sender that your address is a valid one and they send you loads and loads more of it to you.
Never, ever give out your account information or other personal information to anyone.
If you are on a site and you absolutely have to sign up for something, check the entire page to make sure you uncheck any lines wanting to send you any other info, notices, catalogs, ads, and the like.
Added detail:
Yes, spammers change one item in their addresses a lot, so you might try blocking the entire domain, by putting in
*@ thedomainyouwanttoblock.com
for instance: *@seeyou.com
Or, if they change the domain, instead of the company name you can block the name by putting in Imatheft_inc@*
Hope this helps

Stop getting email from someone?

NOTE: Yahoo Classic Mail won't mark as Spam unless you open it - don't do that! Instead, use your spam guard and block address.
Look for the 'Options' link at upper right corner of mail screen and then ...
Options > Mail options/More Options > Spam. Click the Help link in Mail Beta.

Make sure spam guard is on, by checking in the little box.
Then in 'Blocked Email Addresses,' enter the E-mail address you wish blocked, in the box after 'Add a blocked address' and click on the 'add' button, then click on 'save changes' at top left of screen. (You can copy and paste this for accuracy)

If it is coming to your Inbox, it is probably coming from a 'spoofed' or disguised Internet provider, so blocking may not work.

What do I do if I am getting spam emails from myself? How do I make them stop?

This is called spoofing. Someone basically impersonates your email address from a remote server using “smtp severs”, SMTP stands for “send mail transfer protocol”, which basically is the protocol that allows any email to be send in behalf of any domain names.Because anyone can build a tool that makes this possible, it's your email providers responsibility to build a filter that fights spoofing. The most common ways to fight fake emails coming from your own domain name are SPF records, DKIM signatures and Dmarc policy. I will explain them in simple terms.SPF record stands for sender policy framework, this record is added in your Domain Name System (DNS) and it states who you have granted permission to send emails in behalf of your domain. For instance if your email provider is Google, you add a txt record that they will provide to you, same with office365, and any other email provider. In simple terms let's imagine that you always get letters from the same person, and the sender has appointed an specific mail man to be the one delivering the email, upon receiving the letter, you will check if the mailman is the one, anything that is not being delivered by him is a fake letter. Then you as a recepient decide what to do is the mailman fails to be the one. (Mark as spam, reject etc).DKIM record stands for Domain Key identified mail. It's basically another record you add into your DNS and also configure in your email provider server. This is a digital signature that will be added to your message headers and it needs to match exactly with the record in your DNS at the moment the message is being filtered. In simple terms let's use the mailman example once again, following the pervious rules because SPF is a must before implementing DKIM, this time the sender signature needs to be in every letter you send out and the recepient will verify that it matches exactly.Note: These two should suffice and prevent spoofing.Dmarc policy it works with Dmarc compliance systems. Some in house servers that are not so up to date don't comply with it. Basically it's a policy that dictates that emails that are generated that failed SPF and DKIM check should be either quarantine (normally it means marked as spam) or rejected. Yahoo, AOL and some other email providers have a Dmarc policy that rejects emails that are not generated in their servers.I have briefly touch what this records do, there is a lot more to learn about each of them. I hope it helps.

How do I block incoming calls without getting a notification on an Android phone? Is there any free Android app to do this without the need to root my phone?

During working hours or a conference, you may want to turn off your phone’s notifications or block incoming calls to prevent distractions. Usually, configuring these settings requires additional apps. However, if you are using a Samsung device that comes with Android 4.1 and above, you can tweak the settings in just a few taps all in one place.Open the App drawer, and go to Settings. In the Settings screen, scroll down to the Blocking mode option, and tap the slider to turn on this mode. Tap on the text to access the options inside this mode.Inside Blocking mode, you will find options to disable incoming calls, notifications, alarms and timers. Putting a check next to one of these will disable it. Under the Set time section, you will also find the time range for Blocking mode to be active. By default, it is set to Always. However, users are allowed to customize the range. The bottom of the page in the settings menu has an option to let specific contacts call you in that time range.Tapping on Allowed contacts will bring up a list of options: None, All contacts, Favorites and Custom. If you created contact groups, they may also appear in the list.If you choose the Custom option, you will be able to add them to the list by going to the Allowed contact list at the bottom. When you are in this section, tap the Add button at the top to import your desired contacts into the white list. You can choose multiple contacts at the same time by using the check boxes. It is also possible to add more contacts to the list later if you want.I hope it helps…

How do I stop getting spam emails and advertisement emails (Yahoo Mail)?

Spam can get to you in different ways and it’s important to know those to avoid spam as much as possible:you subscribed to some online websites that resell your email address to dodgy marketing companies. Note that this is not illegal in many countries if this behaviour is specified in their terms & conditions (we all know that nobody read them, they know too)you subscribed to some online websites but never read their newsletters - due to a lack of interaction with those emails, the spam checker will think that are unwanted emails, therefore it’ll move them into spam.spammers can generate random email addresses to send emails, sometimes they create yours and you get dangerous emails. The spam checker anyway will protect you putting those into the spam folder. Now, for the 3rd point there is nothing that you can do but trust your email service provider (ESP), in this case Yahoo Mail, that is marking an email as spam for you.For the first two points, you can act in this way:If in your inbox and spam folders you find legitimate newsletters that you are not interested in, take your time to go through them and click on the UNSUBSCRIBE link.(Please, use the unsubscribe link and not the spam button for real companies. Sending them to spam would potentially ruin their business as their reputation will get lower, potentially marking their company as dangerous.)Use filters! - Few people know that modern ESPs give you the possibility to automatically filter and organise incoming emails. For Yahoo Mail, enter your settings and find the section FiltersHere, give a name to your filterSpecify the rules (i.e. if you know a specific email address is used to send you spam, write that address in the “From” field)Select the destination for the email (Delete Items if you want to automatically get rid of the incoming spam)Another useful resource is the Yahoo Mail guideline for spam: Manage spam and mailing lists in Yahoo Mail
