I Want To Change My College.i Am In 1st Year And A Student At Rtu. Help Me

Can I change my college after first year of engineering ?

Yeah you absolutely can change your branch or college after first year. I’ll explain both below:BRANCHIn many engineering colleges the syllabus of all the branches in first year is approximately same. They do it so that student can have a overview of all branches and if they find that the branch they took is not their cup of tea, students can change it after the first year. There are some factors on which you will be shifted. First of them is availability of seats. If there is a seat available in the branch that you seek then there is a chance that you will be admitted to that branch. Second factor is your percentage, some colleges are having minimum percentage requirements if you want to change your stream if you are fulfilling it then you can easily change your stream.COLLEGEStudent can also change their college after first year but they can only go to a college which is under the same university as their present college. Then you only have to take migration certificate any you can move. If you want to go to a college which is under another university then there are many problems which you will be facing firstly you have to take NOC and migration certificate from university that you are studying in. After that when you go to new college they will cross check the subjects that you studied in your previous college if there is any subject(of first year in your new college) that you haven’t studied in you previous college then they will show your backlog in that subject and you have to clear those subjects. Moreover some colleges also will ask you to pay money for the first year if you want to take admission in second year.

I am a first year engineering student. Can I leave college and join DU next year to pursue a B.Sc course? Am I allowed to do that?

Yes, you can do that.To give you a personal example, I left my B.E in Electronics & Communications Engineering after one year, from one of the prominent universities in that point of time and pursued my dream course in BSc. (Environmental Sciences) from another university. It always pays to pursue your dreams rather than live someone else’s.In my case, I realized that it was definitely not worth my happiness if I try to live up to my parents’ dreams. It had been a difficult choice at that point of time and full of challenges but I refused to live my life full of regrets. Today, that was a choice well made and I still continue to my live on my own terms and conditions.

I'm an engineering student (BTech) & I have 10 back papers in my first year (4 back papers in the 1st semester and 6 in the 2nd semester). What should I do?

I think I am qualified to answer this question. I had 17 backlogs during my whole BTech. Some my fault and some by luck. I too had a very low point recognizing and accepting fact that my friends are getting all clear and I am failing to pass even in subjects so easy as Manufacturing process and that too in First year and from CSE.But I have cleared all in a span of 6 months over my btech and i am working as a software developer right after my college when I had backlogs. So What You can do?Firstly stop thinking about other people and their results.Collect all the study matter and write down the syllabus of current semester and backlogs corressponding to current semester.Slice each backlog subject concurrently with current semester.Be positive at most of the time. Its Mandatory.Focus on your skills as engineer but not as the book worm. Dont do engineering to just pass through all subjects. Do it to make difference to yourself. Small or big doesnt matter.Repeat from 3.World is a nasty place. You will find a lot of people who will show that they are better. Just dont pay attention. For the record my B.tech backlog schema was :1st Sem - 4.2nd Sem -4.3rd Sem - 5.4th Sem - 3.5th Sem - Passed.6th Sem - Passed.7th Sem - 1.8th Sem - Passed.Failure might break you down. But it also prepares you to find success. All the best.

Hi, I want to ask which branch is better mechanical/ECE ?

Hi Hemant

Both courses has its merits or positive parts and both are good in many aspects especially in career . There would be many comments and discussion happening with you from friends and dear ones on Mechanical & Electronics & Telecommunications. There was a stage where in India the Electronics & Telecommunications field had less job opportunities compared to Mechanical in 1980's to 1995's. Now both has equal options.
e.g Hundai comp has both divisions; Tata Comp has both division's and many mores companies like that .

It would be suggestible to pursue your willing or interesting course. Then inter college transfer is possible till third year and not for fourth year.To know the results you could approach the University under whom the college is running. Most of the university has an internet site and you could give your exam roll number to know your results or you could write a letter to Registrar of the university to know the same.
