I Want To Do A Water Fast After Christmas

I’m 16 and I want to water fast for 16 days. Is this safe?

I disagree that there is no benefit to fasting. It is remarkably beneficial… for adult bodies. Your body is not ready to be without food, yet. It’s still growing, it’s still developing. Even if you don’t see it or feel it, your body is undergoing a great many changes during even this period of time and will need, if anything, excess food, not a fast.No culture and no religion mandates fasting for children and adolescents. It is understood that growing bodies do not thrive in a fast the way adult bodies can.No matter what you hope to accomplish with this fast, it is not the right time for you to be trying it.If you want to lose weight, now is a good time to work on developing healthy eating habits! Eat whole grains, whole fats, lots of vegetables and fiber. Cut down on sugary drinks like sodas, fruit juices, and energy drinks. Drink lots of water, walk when you can - walking is so healthy in so many ways!Leave fasting for when you have finished growing!

You are 16 and should be aware that there’s no scientific rationale behind “detoxing” regimens. The various kinds of “detoxing” have no positive effect on the body, and some of the plans can cause harm. You should consult a licensed physician and have a frank discussion about your dietary habits and the concerns you have that make you feel compelled to compromise your health.That said, the typical “water detox” regimen is generally to eat nothing for a few days and drink only water. Other than being a symptom of a developing eating disorder, it’s perhaps the safest form of detox, even if a short-term starvation diet is only marginally harmful.For a teenager, a 1-day fast should have no meaningful effect on the individual’s health, assuming the teenager was already in good health. In the short term, it will result in reduced energy and reduced focus. Pre-existing conditions such as diabetes could make such a fast fatal, and it could aggravate pre-diabetes.If the fast is done periodically, in a teen it almost assures the development of an eating disorder. Fasting also increases cortisol levels, so it increases risk and aggravates inflammations — if either of those is an issue — and promotes later weight gain. Also, this type of fasting dramatically increases the severity of food sensitivities.The severity of health effects obviously increases with the duration of the fast. A week-long fast might cause some endocrinological issues and for a teenager could effect future growth and development a bit. A multi-week fast will result in organ damage and eventually death.

10 DAY WATER FAST, help!?

A water fast is not a bad idea if you know what you are doing. Yes, you will lose weight. The best water fast is to mix the juice of a real lemon (not the fake lemon stuff you buy in the stores) with steam distilled water. This will cleanse your liver and other elimination organs.

After 3 days, you will not be hungry. When you start feeling hungry after that initial 3 days is when you should start eating again. Start with a banana and then gradually build up what you eat so your body can move from the "fasting state" to an eating state.

If you eat anything but water on the fast, you will not be in a fasting state, but a starvation state and the body deals with each of these states in a different way. The starvation state is NOT the way to be. Fasting has been done for centuries with great success.

The fasting state causes toxins to come out of your fat tissues, but starvation mode is just the opposite, the body's kidneys start shutting down and the metabolism also shuts down because the fat tissues start working like an endocrine organ by the way Leptin hormone is produced and this regulates the way the body utilizes insulin / glucagon in the blood stream. I personally did a water fast to cleanse my liver and other elimination organs with great success. It lasted 2 weeks and I lost 30 pounds. I did it for medical reasons. You won't faint, on the contrary, you will have quite a bit of energy that is typically not expected. When you start feeling hungry, that is your body telling you it's time to stop the fast.

High fat and moderate protein...keep carbs to a strict minimum

Coconut oil, olive oil...really any kind of meat & non starchy vegetables. Your food choices are pretty narrow.

what is a water fast? I hope your not planning on just drinking water for 3 weeks..that might kill you.

Is it ok to water fast at age 15?

I don’t know why Everybody Tells that “fasting” (in general) is bad for Minors. My Name Is Adam I’m 14 years Old And I Am A Muslim.After Passing the age Of 13 Years old, Every Child (not everybody, there’s some exeptions.) Have to fast because Our Religion Obligate Us To Fast (I reapeat, Not Everybody) .So Basically what we do is that we wake Up At 3 am to get some food, And After 4 am (Adan of fajr) You are no Longer able to eat or to drink anything Until it’s 7 pm (Adan Of Maghreb). I know it’s a bit hard, but I can do it easily after the first or two days of Ramadan. Im 15 abd i weigh 150 pounds i want to do a water fast for 20 days .DOes it work?

All you have to do is eat heathly , drink water , exercise and 5 porstions of fruit and veg a day and you'll be good aas new!!!
Don't starve yourself!!!If you do then your more likey to put on weight because your body thinks when you eat somthing then none for a while it will holdon to that weight cus it don't know when it next feed will be eat reaqquly then it will lose loads!
