I Want To Drink A Protein Shake On A Regular Basis But .

Can we drink a protein shake on a daily basis or 1, 2 times a week even if we are not doing any workout or maybe just walking daily? Will it be good or will it have some side effects?

Eat food. Protein is in beans, nuts, milk and dairy produce, eggs, fish and meat. If you eat any of those regularly then you’re not deficient in protein. If you are an elite athlete with a team of personal trainers and doctors take their advice on what will shave seconds off your times. If you’re not then eat food and take exercise. Some of these products are high in sugar or salt.Eat a balanced healthy diet, which has the extra benefit of being actual food and tasting great. You could for example have an egg and salad sandwich on wholemeal bread, adding basil and a twist of black pepper. Don’t you want that more than a protein shake?

Should i drink a protein shake anytime when i am sore?

i know protein shakes give best results when u drink them before and after a workout, but is it harmful to my body if i drink a protein shake on a day that i do not workout while i am still sore from the day before? And then after i drink one, i go to sleep.

For example:
Monday: i work out
Tuesday: i do not workout, but i am still sore from Monday. I drink a protein shake and go to sleep.

i know that it is probably not recommended, but is it harmful?

i dont know the real answer to the question, but i dont think it is harmful because i know that ur body repairs its muscles with protein the most during sleep, and wat is the best way to help it repair than by drinking a protein shake BEFORE u go to bed?

Should I drink BCAAs instead of protein shakes or should I drink both?

Protein usually contains Branched Chain Amino Acids (three amino acids: leucine, isoleucine, and valine). See Branched Chain Amino Acids (BCAAs) - Scientific Review on Usage, Dosage, Side Effects:BCAAs are important to ingest on a daily basis, but many protein sources, such as meat and eggs, already provide BCAAs. Supplementation is unnecessary for people with a sufficiently high protein intake (1-1.5g per kg of bodyweight a day or more).

Is it safe to drink protein shakes everyday?

Are there any negative effects that may arise if you drink protein shakes on a regular basis? Could it increase my chances of getting cancer? Will it lower my intelligence or damage my brain in any way? Are there any other hidden dangers or potential risks?

Creatine plus whey protein shake?

I have been working out on a regular basis now and was to start adding pre- and post-workout protein shakes to my plan. I was given a tub of Creatine Monohydrate by a friend and was thinking of buying some whey protein powder to mix in along with it. I was wondering if this is a good idea? If so what is best to mix with it? Soy Milk?

If it's not a good idea what is an ideal mixture for a protein shake? I am just looking for opinions here and am not actually set on anything yet.

Thanks, and 10 points to the best answer!

How does drinking whey protein shakes for breakfast lead to weight loss?

How does drinking whey protein shakes for breakfast lead to weight loss? Not only whey protein shakes, or protein shakes but protein in itself is the best for weight management, whether it is weight gain or weight loss! Protein helps in building muscles which could be lean or help in weight gain as per your diet and exercise. To lose weight along with the right diet, some form of exercising is also very important. With the right diet and exercise, protein would help in building lean muscles which would in turn boost up your metabolism and burn fat. Here is an example of an INDIAN vegetarian diet which would help you in weight loss.Breakfast: Paneer Sandwich or Paratha with fruit smoothie OR you could make a protein smoothie with protein powder, fruits and milk or yogurt.Mid morning snack: 1 bowl beans chaatLunch: 1 bowl Salad with 1 Bowl Sabzi, 1 bowl daal, 3 rotis (or one bowl rice) and 1 bowl curd.Evening snack: Mixed fruit bowl and yogurt bowlDinner: same as lunch. Alternatively try to have a meal replacer since they are best for weight loss. I love OZiva’s Meal as they are really delicious and perfect end to the day.Along with this, I would suggest that you remove at least 30 minutes daily to exercise. It could be anything from running/jogging to going to the gym whatever suits you better.People usually have this misconception that protein shakes are only either for weight gaining or weight loss only. I think protein shakes are something everyone should invest in especially if they are not getting the required amount of protein from their daily meals.A person requires to have about 0.8 to 1 gm of protein per kg of body weight. This means that if you are 60 kgs then you need about 48 to 60 gm of protein per day. I usually try to divide this amount of 60g in my meals. So if I am having 5 meals a day, then I need 12g of protein from each meal. But if I am having about 3 meals in a day then I usually try to get 20 gm of protein per serving.Try out this diet and let me know if this works out for you. Hope this helps!

Can protein shake or any kind protein cause bad kidney?

Nobody "needs" to drink protein shakes. That's just what the manufacturers want you to think. protein shakes don't "grow muscle". Hormone does that, using proteins (from ANY source). Shakes are SUPPLEMENTS. That means "In addition to real food". Not instead of. They "supplement" your level of protein.. but only when you need more. Your body does not store protein like it does vitamins.

Too much protein can be bad for your liver and kidneys, - yes, eventually. But you would need to be in ketosis, or 300-400% more then you need on a daily basis. And in that case -- you would get large in (body fat) more then anything. The calories in unused protein nutrients get stored. The rest get's flushed when you pee. Proteins also require carbohydrates and fats to get the full benefit. Something the manufacturers "forgot" to mention also.

Will drinking protein shakes help when running/ walking on treadmill ?

Every 20 lbs. or so will make a big difference in how easy it is to run.
Protein shakes will not help in your immediate performance. (in my opinion)

Try this for a week and you will be amazed:

boiled or scrambled Eggs (reduce or eliminate the egg yolks)
bacon or ham
skim milk or almond milk
for a sweet tooth: dark chocolate and a bit of peanut butter
grilled vegetables such as broccoli, cauliflower, yellow sqash
grilled fish
ham slices
small portions of cheese
protein powder drink with skim milk
nuts
salads without loads of dressing

(get the idea? reduce carbs, reduce insulin production, release fat storage)

that means no sodas, waffles, cereal, pizza, breads, rolls, ....etc
