I Want To Format My Microsd Memory Card

How can I recover data from a memory card that asks to format?

Forgot all these spammy links which need money to get working, here is a free and powerful method to get the job done.Plugging in the SD card into your PC to find out it is not getting detected could be the worst nightmare for anyone having thousands of pictures, music and other important data onto it. I have shared many How-to's and utilities to help users recover data but sadly all of them failed or were unable to recover all data on the SD-card which came to me for recovery. After doing a lot of research on why my computer is asking me to "Format" the SD-card instead of reading it's content, I was pretty sure the culprit was a bad file-system boot sector. While 99.9% of the data recovery applications, both free and paid relied upon the same method to "Scan" and find data from the disk bypassing the file-system "registry" of the files, I was looking for something which will allow me to play with the damaged boot sector of the file-system to recover the underlying "file record registry". Luckily, what I found was not only open-source and free but supported advanced features which nothing else offered, the utility supported NTFS, FAT12, FAT16, FAT32, exFAT, ext2, ext3, ext4, btrfs, BeFS, CramFS, HFS, JFS, Linux Raid, Linux Swap, LVM, LVM2, NSS, ReiserFS, UFS and XFS filesystem and came with cross-platform binaries which can run under DOS, Windows (NT4, 2000, XP, 2003, Vista, 2008, Windows 7 (x86 & x64), Windows 10, Linux, FreeBSD, NetBSD, OpenBSD, SunOS and MacOS X.The gem, I found was TestDisk - a powerful, free and open-source (GPLv2) data recovery software designed to help users recover lost partitions and/or make non-booting disks bootable again.TestDisk supports:Fixing partition tables and recovery of deleted partitionsRecovery of FAT32 boot sector from backupRebuilding of FAT12/FAT16/FAT32 boot sectorFixing of FAT tablesRebuilding NTFS boot sectorRecovery of NTFS boot sector from its backupFixing MFT using MFT mirrorLocating ext2/ext3/ext4 Backup SuperBlockRecover deleted files from FAT, exFAT, NTFS and ext2 filesystemRead more: How To Fix And Recover Full Data From Corrupt SD Card Asking For Format | Megaleecher.Net http://www.megaleecher.net/Free-...

Micro SD Card wont Format for camera? Please HELP!!!?

So i had this (micro sd hc 8gb card) for about 8 months now. the only problem i have had with it was that everytime i pluged it into my computer it told me to format it, but i never did. and it keep on working so i thought all was good. then at the end of my trip to paris i tryed to take a pic and it said card error reinsert. i did and same thing. when i got back i pluged it into my computer, it sayed it needed to be formatted. i didnt think much of it again. but this time it would not let me do any thing with it. i cant view any pics. I really dont want to delete the pics but i finally said what ever and tryed to format it. when i did it said "windows was unable to complete the format". i looked up so may things for help but nothing did. i do think it is messed up because i ignored the format message so many times. if this helps when i click format it says capacity- 30.6mb, when its really 8gb. under file system- its at FAT DEFAULT, other options are NTFS,exFAT. its not giving the right specs of it, weird right? also FYI the switch on the adapter is not on lock and i used 3 adapters that all support sdhc. and i cant format from the camera because it wont let you go to menu when the card is in. Please let me know if you can help and if possible can i save my pics.

How to format a WRITE PROTECTED SD card ?

SOLUTION 1 - Unlock the memory card.

There is a Lock switch on the left side of the SD card. Make sure the Lock switch is slid up (unlock position). You will not be able to modify or delete the contents on the memory card if it is locked.

NOTE: If you are using a microSD/microSDHC card or a miniSD/miniSDHC card, insert the card into the microSD/miniSD adapter. The SD adapters will also have a lock switch.

SOLUTION 2 - Toggle the lock switch.

If the lock switch is loose and moves easily It is likely the switch is sliding to the locked position as the card is placed in your host device. In this case the card will need to be replaced.

Contact the manufacturer's support number to check warranty status.

SOLUTION 3 - Try to Format the card using Disk Manager (For all memory cards)

The data on the memory card may be corrupted. Format the card under Disk Management and then try to transfer files to the device once more.

WARNING: Formatting will delete all the files in the device. Backup all your data before formatting.
