How to get into pc gaming?

Is 118 GB A Lot For A Pc?

Actually 118GB can be a lot depending on the games you want to download and play. Minecraft for instance, will download fine on it, taking up about 5GB, while games like Battlefield 4 or even GTA IV will take over 20GB per game, and 20GB a game at 118GB's you'll get maybe 4-5 games, and your PC will become incredibly slow. Like Real stated, you need the whole package. Building a gaming PC is cheaper and usually 100% more future proof (something like your CPU burns out, buy a new one, or your GPU gets outdated, it can easily be swapped), you get warranty through all of the parts through the company, and better quality, but if you are not experienced with computers or afraid of wrecking it, you can get good deals on pre built computers from companies. I would suggest Asus, Lenovo, Cyber power or even Alienware. Stay away from Acer or low end HP's for gaming.

To answer your other question, about whether or not you can upgrade this, yes you can 100%. You can get a USB stick, but its going to cost a lot and usually can't find one with more 64GB on it. The best deal you can get it by buying a external 1TB HDD or 3TB, or what ever you need and hook it up through USB and install your games, put music, pictures, etc. on it, and just use your old HDD for your Windows/ what ever, only downside is that they can get annoying carrying around, or if you have a desktop with an available Hard drive spot, you can simply install another HDD right into the PC and will be used the same way as a external HDD. Something like this would fine. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/wd-my-passpo...

What gaming PC should I get?

I am looking to get into PC gaming and because this is my first time I have no idea what I am looking for. I am wanting to spend no more than $750, but will exceed if necessary. The games I would play would vary so I am looking for something to support many different games of all sizes. Also what are some cheap gaming mouse and keyboards that are recommended.

How do I get into PC Gaming as a console peasant?

Hahaha… This is a funny question… Dude, gaming is gaming… It’s not hard to join the glorious #PCMR. Just get yourself a pc, learn how it works and upgrade the parts accordingly. Although it’ll be a little tough right now to get your hands on a good GPU for a reasonable price because the prices of GPUs have shot up because of crypto mining.Otherwise, it’s not that big a deal. Get a PC and start gaming.#PCMR#HAIL_GABEN

My parents can't afford a gaming pc. What do I do?

I'm a teenager and I want to get into pc gaming like every one of freinds. I want to play games like CSGO, bf4,bfHardlime,gta V etc. The build I want is about $1000 usd but they can't afford it. What do I do? And BTW I don't have any computer or tablet I only have a phone. Mowing lawns and neighborhood jobs are not an option.

What can a non-gamer who wants to get into gaming do to start?

First things first, you have to buy a console (handhold or home) or a PC. Right now most gamers don’t consider cell phone gamers actually to be gamers, with few exceptions, so those are the two routes avaliable currently. You can get used consoles for around 99–200$ used so consoles are a nice entry option as they are plug and play and quite affordable. However if you want to go the pc route, note that there will be more of a learning curve as you’ll have to build your own pc and to get a decent pc capable of playing decent games, you’ll have to drop around 400–600$ for a good rig which doesn’t include a moniter. This is if you want to keep things cheap. The trade off here is you’ll get higher preformance than a console and more customization in your games ranging from minor to major graphic upgrades to mods which can add WHOLE NEW EXPANSIONS TO GAMES not available or possible on consoles. (Bethesda games.)A good start are platformers, they are often built for kids and other groups who are new to gaming. They are easy to pick up and easy to master. They are often a nice gateway to more complex games.A few games that come to mind and by no means a comprehensive list.Crash Bandicoot 1–3Spyro 1–3Ape escapeKnackHat in Time.Ratchet and Clank, the SeriesJak and Daxter, The SeriesSuper Mario, the SeriesAnother good start are racing games.Easily picked up, controls are often very good, and while winning is harder in racing games, you’ll pick up how things work very quickly.A couple of examples of racing games.ForzaCrash team racingSuper mario kartJet motoNeed for Speed. After you play these games, try experimenting, try RPGS, try FPS, trust me on this there is something out there for everybody, contray to what the mainstream media will tell you, theres more to gaming than Triple AAA.

How do I get started with PC gaming?

Depends on what you want to do with your gaming career.I say career because it really will turn into a career. You'll get hooked on some game and gradually it'll pull you into making time for it at the expense of other things. Like anything really. If you're looking to just have fun and create stuff, play games like Minecraft, Sims, Civ.If you want to spend long hours grinding to prove to others that you're awesome and your avatar is awesome, play LOL, or WOW.Maybe you're a fan of shooting games and want to gain kill streaks. I recommend Overwatch, CoD.Also, something that is a thing I really liked.Start out using a basic mouse.Master the basic mouse then buy yourself a gaming mouse. Only then will you have an advantage when lag hits.If you don't see yourself ever being that good, and want a valid excuse when you're friends badger you, play on a laptop at a cafe. That stuffs crap, but everyone accepts it rather then being called a “noob” when you have a heavy duty tower and can sit home on high speed wifi every night.

So I'm looking to get into PC gaming now and I don't have PC currently. Where can I just get a desktop for cheap?

You can’t go cheap on PC gaming unless you don’t mind with lag, stuttering and low graphics settings.BUT you can find some great deals on retail, or to hunt some for a good deal on a secondhand hardware, or some pre-built, i can give some low-med spec tips, just get some of this first, because this hardware is quite fragile and sensitive so better get a new one,Brand new seagate/western digital 1 TB hard disk.Brand new evga/seasonic/corsair/thermaltake/cooler master bronze 400ish-500ish watt power supply.Brand new cheap logitech keyboard and mouse combo. And you’re good to go for a parts hunting, just check if there’s no sign of damages,Memory/RAM, lifetime warranty. Any brand is fine, Patriot/Geil/Corsair/Team/Kingston/Geil any pair of DDR4 4GB(2x2GB)/DDR4 8GB(2x4GB) with minimal speed DDR4 2133 (for 6th gen)/DDR4 2400 (for 6th/7th gen)Processor, no warranty is fine as long as in a good condition. any Intel i3/i5/i7 6th of 7th generation (6xxx/7xxx)Monitor, 2 year after warranty seems fine, or you can use your tv as long as it have hdmi connection, LG 20–24inch LCD/LED with max 1080p (1920x1080)Graphics Card/GPU, 1 year after warranty seems fine, but better get within the warranty if possible. I am getting into PC gaming. I want to know if this (http://pcpartpicker.com/p/PXgcXL) looks like a good $1000 build?

First thoughts are that is a high end board.  I'd look through the specs and features to ensure they're actually what you want and may use.  Too often do I see gamers buy then over-complicated boards with features that sound cool but that they'll never use.  And please don't get me wrong, MSI makes great boards, and this is on, my remarks are simply on features of the board and that you'll use.  Now if you're getting it to match the color scheme, well that's something else and I totally get it.  1 TB 7200RPM HDD is fine, but MOST builders use a SDD for their OS and a HSS for file storage.  I was definitely expecting to see at least a 120GB SSD in your build, even if it was a lower end SSD.  You're GOING to want MORE RAM.  16GB is usually the recommended amount for a gaming PC of any caliber.  I's get 16GB minimum, but aim towards 24GB.  Some games can be quite demanding and you always want more than the simply recommended. Everything else looks OK.  Stock coolers are fine with most processors, yes even if you're gaming.  You really only need an after-market cooler if you're over-clocking, your CPU doesn't include one, or you're going for looks.  Power supply looks alright, I noticed you don't have a mouse in the list, but I'm assuming you're planning on using an existing mouse.  Check to ensure fans are included w/ the case.  I believe this case has the fans you'll need but always double check. Also don't forget the thermal paste/compound.  Most aftermarket coolers will include it, but double check. That's really it, downgrade your mobo, unless you're planning on Crossfire-ing in the future or are going for the color scheme and upgrade your RAM.

What do I need to get into PC gaming? I just need the monitor, PC, mouse, keyboard, and mouse pad, right?

Well, there is something called a game controller. I have one from Logitech. Unfortunately Windows 10 won’t let me use it. Apparently there is no Window 10 driver. If I were more of a gamer I could probably wrestle this to the ground. Quite often devices with no Windows 10 driver can be resuscitated by finding and installing a Windows 8 driver if such a thing exists.A lot of games are completely controllable with the mouse and/or keyboard. As always in computing the bare necessitates may bring a game up but they don’t necessarily guarantee that play will be pleasurable. The most modern, most popular, games will often play much better with a decent video card driving a decent monitor. But that wasn’t your problem statement, was it?I smiled when I saw “mouse pad” in your list of required parts. There is at least one mouse out there that claims to be able to work on any surface, even a clear glass desk top. But I refuse to work with anything other than my Picasso reproduction. :)
