How do I break into the marijuana business?

First you have to understand in a good business you must have 3 stream of cash flows.1. Fast cash2. Medium term cash3. Long term cashSo now you have to setup at least 3 of what we call in Malaysia ‘ATM Machine’. Where your money flows into you.FIRST. The best idea is started with Hemp. Hemp are end products of Marijuana. We can find it on fashion, development, medicine etc.I want to choose selling Hemp bags, Hemp stockings, Hemp twine. These item are rare and can only be found in the Hindustan (India-Pakistan-Nepal). You can sell it for 3 or 4 times the price you get. Because its rare! Then when you have some cash coming.SECOND. Buy seeds. This is where the you have to make more friends and connecting each other. When at some extend we can even ask the policy to be change on Marijuana.Get a place. A place where the people are still live in peace. But of course you have to be a genius to find this place. Like me. Lol.Plan the Hemp plant. Let the government tax it. Import Nepalese to this place. Produce Hemp.THIRD. Produce to to an extend you can supply to industrial, to medicine use of Hemp. You can help people all around the world, help to have a greener world for our next generation. It almost a capitalism now. Will it be a slavery issues? With THC & CBD on everybody’s body system. Everybody will be working happy ever after.I’m thinking people working with singing like I used to watch when i was a kid. Even some Hindustan film always have that scene. It is a future where material needs is no longer exist.Watch some Star Track my friend.

What would be your first steps to enter the legal marijuana business in the USA with unique technology?

Highly risky business.  I agree with Keith Preston -- you need a top notch criminal defense attorney available at any time first and foremost.  Then you need a general attorney because the liability issues are through the roof.Understand what you are getting into.  Most banks will not allow you to have an account with them, so everything must be done in cash.  You must pay all your taxes, payroll and invoices in cash, and move cash around town.  Landlords may not want to rent to you.  Neighborhoods may not want you present.  Do your research before you spend any money.Have a clean record, and keep it clean.  Do not give anyone an excuse to shut you down.

What kind of jobs can I get in the legal marijuana industry? Does it matter that I'm pursuing a degree in computer science?

You could try to find a job with a company involved in creating software to assist the marijuana dispensaries or growers in managing their inventory. There are many complicated state laws surrounding how inventory must be monitored from "seed to sale." Therefore, some companies, such as BioTrackTHC, have developed software to be used by government agencies and the private sector for such a purpose. You might also want to consider working for a company that develops apps to assist potential clients/patients in finding legal dispensaries in states like Washington, California, Oregon, and Colorado. Check out WeedMaps for more info. Also, there are other popular apps, such as Leafly, that help people identify and choose the marijuana strain that suits their particular needs and preferences.  Of course, you could always set out to develop your own app or web services straight out of college, but it might make sense to work for one of these companies first (or even in a dispensary itself) to get an idea of what problems exist in the industry and how you could help solve them with software.

How can one get started in the legal weed business in the US? How much money can one make?

Considering that marijuana revenue may surpass $7 billion this year (at an annual growth rate of 26%), it could potentially be a very lucrative industry to start a business. That being said, your question of how much you can make would require an answer impossibly broad. Businesses often fail (so nothing made, or more commonly a net loss given your investment). If your business succeeds, what time period are you considering? The cannabis industry may look very different after November 8, when 5 states including California vote on legalization. Will that create momentum for federal legalization (and interstate or even international commerce) in the near future? These unknowns could change the size of the addressable market by orders of magnitude over a relatively short period of time.To answer the question of how to get started in the legal cannabis industry, I’d say start by understanding it as well as you can. For those looking to get into the cannabis space, there is a dizzying array of choices and not a lot of reliable information. This isn’t surprising: it is still maturing as an industry, and for decades has faced intense pressure to stay underground due to law enforcement and the War on Drugs. The best advice on investing in cannabis is to know your product and your customers. You should not invest everything you’ve got in something speculatively if you do not understand it; that’s a recipe for disappointment and likely increases the chance you will lose your money. If you want to profit in this industry, it will help to understand use cases, pain points, competition and the changing regulatory landscape as much as possible. Everything is changing quickly, so before starting a business, invest your time in learning about the cannabis industry generally and specifically about the area you’re interested in (be it cultivation; manufacturing; distribution; transportation; testing labs; retail; or other ancillary services like software and consulting). Ask yourself, what are your skills? What value can you create with them? Then start working out how to apply that to a product or service you are able to create. Best of luck!

How do I get started in a legal cannabis business?

This is close to home for me because I’m a business lawyer in a state (Maine) that just chose to legalize recreational cannabis and there are tons of people here, including clients of mine, asking how they can take part in this now-legal business.Short answer: as quickly as possible, talk to professionals in your area who already know something about this. Make this the last question that you ask on the Internet — get out and find people to have coffee with. Look for:corporate/startup lawyersaccountantscommercial bankersyour Chamber of Commerceyour local chapter of SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives), if your area has onevarious types of nonprofit organizations in many states that provide free business consulting services to startup business. In Maine, this includes the Maine Center for Entrepreneurial Development and Coastal Enterprises Inc.Notice I have not yet said anything about people in the actual product market that you want to work in — for example, growing cannabis, techniques for extraction, marketing cannabis, making edibles, etc. That’s because before you can do anything, you need to understand the considerable practical hurdles that can prevent you from even starting a business, let alone succeeding. For example, you may have trouble finding an attorney who can form your company; in some states, bar association rules forbid lawyers from doing this. You’ll have trouble finding a bank to house your business banking account and related financial services, because of federal banking insurance and laws. You may realize that this all means you cannot form a company, so you have to do business as a sole proprietor, which places tremendous personal risk on you and your personal assets (and those of your spouse).Again, this is all threshold stuff that you need to get your arms around before you can even put together a business plan for whatever your company is actually going to be doing. In sum: start calling all of the people in the bullet points above, ask them to coffee, and start asking questions. If you’re looking to do this in Maine, feel free to call me.

How can I get involved in the marijuana industry?

Disclaimer. This is a plot and nothing more, anything that turns to a fact that is in any way similar with this plot is none of my business. We have Jake. Jake wants to be a dealer. Jake is smart and all, and he wants the money. Jake knows that first rule of drug dealing is that you ain't using what you sell. That makes of a good midman.Jake finds a dealer around and, with the money he's gathered from his private sources, buys a significant amount of pot for selling. He knows that buying more means buying cheaper. So he buys let's say 30 grams. He makes portions of 0.8 grams and sells them as it were a gram, for (insert price here, whether market he sells it to), but not much more than he bought it/gram.He then does the same thing with a bigger amount of pot, but by this time he will be known as a dealer and will have some connections. He will try here and there to supply somebody to sell his stash, while his portions become from 0.8 to 1 gram.Same story goes on for as much as needed. He then gets some good money out of this and affords to travel to better suppliers to buy much more and way cheaper. He eventually gets caught and ends up in jail, but we may assume he has enough money to bail himself out. If not, Jake will do his bid and stay away from weed selling, maybe just stick to smoking.

How to get a job in the Marijuana Industry?

I have been trying to find out how I can become much more active in the Marijuana industry, I believe this is a booming industry as I grow up and I would love to be apart of it, as of now I live in New York an illegal state, I will obviously have to re-locate but I'm just not 100% on how I would go about opening my own head shop/club and distribute/grow my own strains, and help my patients by sitting down and learning what problems they have and deciding if they need a more saliva/indica/hybrid strain, this is what motivates me and this is what I am interested in, if you have any information as to how I can pertain my dreams please leave a comment and let me know.

What does it take to start a successful and legal cannabis business in the US?

I think that the most beneficial thing you can do for this type of industry, is have a solid understanding of it. Some people are attracted to the cannabis industry because they assume it’s an easy way to earn a profit, but that is far from the truth. Not only do you have to do the typical things associated with business, such as developing a business plan, establishing as solid team, and crafting a clear operations agreement—but you also have to be weary of additional things such as :Finding a bank willing to work with you ( hint: not all of them will since there’s still the legality issues on the federal level.)Having extensive knowledge about growing or hiring an expert.Understanding all the legal requirement associated with the business.Your best bet?
