I Want To Give My Cat Away But I Feel So Bad

SHOULD I FEEL BAD ABOUT GIVING MY CAT AWAY?

he is seven years old, not a very nice cat to most people... ive had him since he was a kitten since a family member abondoned him with me... the problem is he pees and poops everywhere despite his litter box being clean. He is not sick... just likes to poop in my kitchen ..has messed up my carpet and new floors... ? as a pet owner i know about being responsible but i can no longer continue to let this cat mess my home up... what is the best option i have here...i know that a shelter will kill him as soon as i surrender him ...ive tried putting him on CL but very wary because he is a all black cat...

So sad about giving my cat away?

Aw, poor dear! (Both of you)
I'm sorry about being allergic to such a sweet little guy. Unless you want to take Claritin all the time, I can't say much. If your allergies aren't that bad, maybe you could fight through them. Lots of vacuuming and bathing the kitty could help. (Though most cats would hate to be washed all the time. Not all, but most.) After all, it's the animal's dander we are allergic to, not the hair. But they come hand in hand, don't they? If you are unable or unwilling to go through taking medicine and clean all the time (no guarantee it would help anyway) then I say it's for the best. As long as the shelter is no-kill and is truly there for the benefit of the animals, he'll be ok. He can find another loving home, I'm sure.

Hope it all works out for the both of you.

I want to get rid of my cat but i feel bad for her?

Never ever give an animal away. People take care of the things they pay for. If they can't afford to pay then they can't afford quality pet food or vet care.

Take the animal to the SPCA and tell them what's wrong. They have trained people who might be able to foster the cat and socialize it. They have medical care and can give it medication so it doesn't vomit each day. If it does that it needs medical help. As least give the cat a chance at a good home and let the SPCA try to work with it before it's adopted.

Am I a bad person for giving away my cat?

My cat Sherman died September 14 of last year and I miss him every day. I had him for 11 years and he died due to complications from cancer. It was one of the most heartbreaking things I've ever experienced. I got another cat about a week later, and I love her, but not like I loved Sherman. Lily is a great cat but I have been upset at her for chewing up my cell phone cord and stationary bike seat. In November of last year my niece's babysitter could no longer keep their two cats due to problems with their landlords, so my sister-in-law took one and I took the other. She ended up giving the cat she took in to her mom because they had two other cats already and it was too much to handle. The cat I took in fought a lot with Lily, and I noticed shortly after droppings left around on the carpet and sometimes dried pee stains. Sometimes he'd use the litter box and sometimes he wouldn't. This week I found that he's been peeing in the corners of the basement on our brand new carpet, and the carpet is soaked with his urine. My husband took him to the shelter today and now I feel bad. Am I a bad person for giving away my cat? My husband told the shelter what has been going on and now I am afraid they will euthanize the cat. He was a very sweet cat but I couldn't take him peeing and pooping all over the place. Apparently he didn't do this at his other home, so we told the shelter that he should be the only cat to whoever adopts him. I still feel bad though and couldn't keep him as an outdoor cat because his previous owners declawed him.

Should I feel guilty giving my cat away?

We have had the cat for 6 years and had her since she was 6 months. She is declawed, clean and doesn't shed. She does bite occasionally and smack you when you walk buy. She has started biting more since we had a baby. My son is twenty-two months and on occassion the cat will walk up to him and bite him. when he sleeps the cat goes to the crib and scratches against it waking him up. If I shut any doors, the cat will eat the carpet and get very stressed. WE always keep doors open.
The baby does not bother her at all. In fact you can tell from the baby's face that he knows she will bite him. She will rub against him, when he tries to let the cat sniff his hands she chomps on it. He cries.

Someone at work wants the cat. She had a cat die. I explained how the cat is, and my coworker says she is used to a fiesty cat and wants a cat to love. She has another cat (my cat does get along with others) Should I feel guilty giving her away? I feel awful

I have to give my cat away, will she be sad and miss me ?

MY MOM GAVE MY CAT AWAY?

My mom gave away my cat and I got so mad. We only had her for 5 days and now my mom wanted to get rid of her because my cat maya was so lazy an always hid under beds and made noise at night which didn't make us sleep well. I miss my cat do much, in actually crying. I grew so attached to her and I was proud that I saved her and now all of a sudden my mom secretly got rid of her! She was like my best friend and it's sad seeing her leave. Also I found out that the man that took her grabbed her from her tail when she was trying to run away from him(she didn't want to leave) I was so mad when I found out about this. I told my mom to please get her back but she said no I've tried everything I don't know what to do :(((

My cat fell in a pan of grease, I have already given her one bath today, & she is shivering,?

Was the pan with hot grease? If so- take her to the ER vet, she may be burned. If the pan was old cool grease, then bathe her using DAWN dishwashing liquid. It is the best to remove grease, the vet's office I work at always tells folks with a sticky pet to try that first. Using warm water, and then towel her off well- put her on a heating pad, or microwave a towel and wrap her in it until she dries.
