So next week I'm going to the hunger games midnight premiere with my mom and two friends and I had some questions 1. What time should we get there? I already preordered my tickets so I won't have to wait in the box office line (I have to wait in the kiosk line though to print my tickets). I was thinking of getting there at 11. 2. Should I dress up like a hunger games character or isthat weird? I'm 13. A lot of people from my school are going and I don't wanna make a fool out of myself..
How to buy midnight premiere tickets?
My friends and I want to go to the Harry Potter midnight premiere, and I checked on Fandango and all the normal showings are sold out at our theater, but they have a 3D showing open. We'd rather see it not in 3D, but if we have to we'll see it in 3D. I was wondering if it would be a better option to buy the 3D tickets online now, or get them at the theater before the premiere. If we bought them the night of the premiere how early should we show up about? Or can I pre-order them at the theater ticket kiosk now? Thanks for the help!
What does a premiere mean?
World Premiere means the first public exhibition of a film and it is invitation only. It's attended by the cast, director, producer and invited guests (which usually actually doesn't include most of the crew!) and there is a red carpet, photographers, press etc. Sometimes films will have premieres in different countries - for example the Harry Potter Films have pretty much all had a London Premiere and a US Premiere, but each of these would be the first public showing of the film in that country and again is for cast, certain crew and invited guests. A premiere can be held many days before the film opens, not just the night before. For example, we did the Pirates premiere on May 7 and the film doesn't open in the US until May 20. A lot of people say "I want to go to the premiere of such and such at midnight on the day it opens" - or they get invited to an advance screening. These are not premieres. Hope that clears it up.

Being a filmmaker in Los Angeles, I went to several premieres. But the most memorable one for me was my very first, for DJANGO UNCHAINED (2012). A friend of mine knew Tarantino, and I was his +1 for the evening.Disclaimer: Officially, the Weinstein Company canceled the premiere due to the Sandy Hook shootings. However, under the table, the cast and crew had their “off the record screening” to celebrate the launch of the movie.Not only did I get to meet Quentin Tarantino, I also saw Jamie Foxx, Samuel L. Jackson, Kerry Washington, and other stars from the movie, along with their friends—NBA players like Magic Johnson and Charles Barkley.I sat next to John Singleton (director of Boys n the Hood) and his son.I was star struck for like thirty minutes. I felt an intense desire to take selfie pictures with everyone, but I didn’t want to be “that guy,” because literally everyone was a celebrity. After a while, I kinda got used to seeing them around. Tarantino went to the front of the stage and thanked his cast and crew. Then he said, “We’re about to start the movie so turn off your fu**ing cell phones!” The crowd erupted in laughter.The lights went dim, the projector switched on, and everyone applauded as the movie began. With every name that appeared on the title credits sequence, the crowd roared with applause.Keep in mind, at a premiere you’re actually sitting next to the people that made the movie, so everyone cheers louder, laughs louder, and reacts much more intensely to every little thing that happens on screen.After the movie ended, everyone mingled and chatted. Why are movie premieres in Indonesia often on Thursdays?
Because usually Friday, already consider weekend or having lot of free time. Friday night people go to movie, and they want to see new movie (or premiere). Then it might continue with Saturday and Sunday for regular.So Thursday will be a very good and strategic day to release new movie.
