I Want To Invent Something. What Should It Be

I want to invent something?

I came across your question and thought I could help give you some answers.
1. NEVER TELL ANYONE WITHOUT A SIGNED AND LEGALLY BINDING NON-DISCLOSURE AGREEMENT. If someone says tell me your idea then we can help, then they are obviously crooks and should be avoided at all costs.
2. You don't have to be 18 but for legal issues your parents can sign for you until you are of legal age.
3. Inventing is a tough go and I have recently been very successful after 23 years of trying.
4. Big companies would rather borrow your ideas than pay you for them. Unless it's a game changer, I.e.: A new computer system or Warp Drive it will be tough to get any large company to deal fairly with you. Find one looking to break into the market and offer your 1st Invention to them at deal you both can't refuse! Don't be greedy and don't try and control the deal, that's what you need professionals for, so if you make a deal let them do the deal, don’t get an Inventors ego and get in the way and blow the deal.
5. Stay away from anyone or any company that claims that they can help you get a patent and only if you pay them for their efforts. They are most likely lying to you in an effort to steal your Invention. I work with an International company that pays me, I have never paid them a dime and they are now paying for one of my Inventions to be patented. It takes millions to patent and protect your idea for its lifetime of up to 21 years. If you don't have $500,000.00 to enforce your patent then don't waste the initial $25 - $100k getting one.
6. Use www.USPTO.GOV to do a free patent search of your idea but do not pay anyone to patent until you know more about the patent process and the expense it brings. Initially the patent process buries way more great ideas and Inventors then it has ever helped see to market.

This should get help you started and if you email me through my website at www.webstarts.com/IamInventor I can show you how to make money from your ideas before the SHARKS rip it off your line. It takes smarts to get your ideas to market, not money!!

Good luck, JLC IamInventor

I want to invent something but I don't know how to go about it?

It’s really great to know you already have everything designed in your mind. All you need is a little planning.Start with your work as soon as possible ,make a time table.Don’t waste time,it’s precious.Make it and don’t drop idea in middle.Stay motivated. Also of you want to make good money out of it DON’T COPY ANYTHING.No matter you got to reject your design a hundred times, but use your own brain and knowledge.Your own creativity, also it’s advisable to meet critics and get their opinion but only once you’ve done.Know your weakness and master them.Hope this helps

I want to invent something but I don't know the steps?

I want to invent something, but I want to know do you create the invention first then get a patent or get a patent then invent ...if i'm leaving any steps out please indicate them...

What degree I should take to invent something?

Well, it depends on what you want to invent.  If you want to invent a new molecule and patent it, I suggest you get a degree in some life science field.  If you want to invest a new energy source, a physics degree might help.   There is no degree in "innovation."  Innovation is defined by thinking OUTSIDE the box, not inside it.  It doesn't matter a whit what your degree is in.  Many innovators have no degrees in their field of innovation, and most people who have a degree is something have never created anything new.It is up to you to find something new.  And there is no process or educational system that will get you there.

If you wish to invent something, what would you invent and why?

A better plastic waste sorter and processor. One of the greatest challenges in material recycling is dealing with plastics. Knowing the difference between hundreds of different kinds of plastics by chemistry, contaminants, physical properties and sorting it by the thousands of tons every hour. This would all feed into a couple of other new inventions that would make the plastic useful for product manufacturers as a feedstock. The other machines would flawlessly turn the specific plastic into flakes, fibers or pallets. Well thousands of people are trying to do this. Most will fail but a few successful machine to solve our plastic waste problem are just arriving. Plastic waste is one of out great environmental emergencies of our time and some countries are putting these new inventions to work recycling the plastics. I am living in such a place. Edmonton, Alberta. We are the plastics recycling capital for all of Canada and most of the USA.
