I Want To Keep My Email But I Would Like To Block Someone From Emailing Me

How do I know if someone blocked my emails on Gmail?

With respect to previous answers, Google now supports blocking emails, but it doesn't work like the method to blocking via something like a messaging service.  When someone blocks your email, when you send the email it goes straight to their spam box.  Most GMail users will never know to even look for it unless they're actively searching for it.  After the email has sat in their spam box for 30-days, it's then deleted.  This ultimately means unless they went searching through the Spam box looking for the email, they'll have no clue you even emailed them.  And on your side, you'd have NO idea IF you're blocked or even if the user has even noticed your email.  The second way of blocking is by using GMails built-in filters.  In short, the user sets instructions as to what to do when emails are received meeting a certain set of user defined parameters.  Actions can be anything from auto mark as read, automatically delete, move to another folder, in short anything the user defines.  That being said, in this case, unless the user sets an auto-reply, again you will never know you've been blocked.  Block unwanted emails Gmail has a new 'block sender' option Google's Gmail finally adds the ability to block email, but there's a better way

If you block someone on Hotmail and they later send you an email, do they get a notification telling them they have been blocked?

If you block someone on Hotmail, it’s called blacklisting them, and no: they will never know they’ve been blacklisted.Mail YOU designate “blacklist” never will reach you at all. Unlike “whitelist” mail, which will bypass all spam, and land safely into your INBOX, blacklisted mail will not even hit your SPAM account.Designating any e-mail account “blacklisted” is telling your e-mail host: “You know what? This e-mail is WORSE than SPAM. Consider it Ebola. I don’t even want it in my SPAM account.”You won’t ever even get near it, and since these processes are automated, and webmail servers and those who run them are WAY too busy to send alerts for these? No one will take a nanosecond’s time to tell the e-mail account who’s been designated too awful and contagious:“Hey: this person hates you more than SPAM. Have a nice day.”They MAY wonder why you’re ignoring them, of course, if they aren’t a SPAM bot, and if they’re desperately in love with you, this MAY be a good time for you to buy stock in Ben & Jerry’s…But if you’re concerned about the awkward situation of receiving an e-mail from yet ANOTHER account, saying “Hey, (tearful emoticon here) why’d ya block me on Hotmail? Was it all the OTHER tearful e-mails? Be honest!” …. be assured they will only be GUESSING.You may feel completely free either to ignore the new, pathetic e-mail, as the Casanova or Mata Hari that you are, or lie, like the 007-license-to-lie I now guarantee you have, either:“This user no longer at this address,” or “I’m sure I don’t know what you mean; I don’t even know HOW to block anyone…”Then go ahead and block the new e-mail, and so on, and so on.Still, I reassure you: unlike Twitter, or Facebook, where once blocked or unFriended, it’s obvious to a user they’ve been shunned, Hotmail (and also Yahoo) does NOT alert any blacklisted user they’ve been blacklisted.FYI: My sources for this are:Web Developer’s NotesPC MechHotmail(So you know I really checked this out for you.):::Here also is a link, if you want to block this person from Gmail (and everywhere else). There are helpful screen shots, and links at the bottom to just about every social media outlet.www.laptopmag.com/articles/block-someone-gmail

If I block someone's emails will they know?

When email is blocked using the blocked address list in Yahoo mail there is no indication to the sender that the mail was blocked.

From Yahoo help:
Are you tired of getting email from certain senders? Do you find it a bother having to delete unwanted emails or to move them into the Spam folder? Yahoo! Mail can help you out with a handy feature that lets you list email addresses that you would like blocked from your Yahoo! Mail account. When emails arrive from addresses that you’ve blocked, Yahoo! Mail automatically deletes them. The emails never make it to one of your mail folders, not even your Spam folder, and they aren’t bounced back to the sender. If you want to block messages from a particular source, just list the sender’s specific address or entire domain. As long as the sender always uses the same mailing address or domain, this type of blocking is very effective.

How can I do block unwanted email from my gmail account?

Since email is not controlled by a specific company, it is impossible to not receive emails from someone, similar to a phone call. However, gmail offers some very nice filtering features that will let you decide what you want to do with that email after it arrives in your mailbox, just like you can block a phone number on your phone. If you go to Settings, then the Filters and Blocked Address tab, you can set up filters to automate processing of certain emails that correspond to the rules that you selected.

Blocked Junk Emails Keep Coming Back!!!!! WHY??????

Stuff like "cheap insurance" and "your pharmacy"...I keep checking this stuff off as SPAM & deleting it BUT it keeps coming back!!! I've had this email address and account for several years...2007 has been the WORST as far as SPAM staying as SPAM. Yahoo is NOT getting "upgrade" money from me. This poor service only started this year. I no longer have junk in my Bulk or Trash folders to delete on this particular email acct. WHICH I am not giving up. I think someone wants it & it's not going to happen. WHY ISN'T MY SPAM/DELETE STAYING DELETED??????????????

I keep getting mail from someone and it says to undisclosed recipient. How do I stop them from sending me any?

First the block list and second the undisclosed recipient.
The block list.
You can go to the list on the options page and reduce the number of entries by using the domain option.
Rather than blocking someone@somewhere.com simply block somewhere.com
Better, if you do not have friends in the relevant countries, block com.br net.br org.br com.mx etc.
Simply manually remove the lengthy entries and replace them with short ones.
A few words of caution.
First, you will lose a lot of friends if you block yahoo.com, hotmail.com etc.
Second, com.hk will block yahoo.com.hk but ahoo.com.hk will not. Think it through if this sounds unclear.
Undisclosed recipients
This is simply what yahoo reports when a message is sent with a bcc entry.
bcc means blind carbon copy and is used where a lot of people are to be sent the same message and each need not know the addresses of the others. Usually it is a large list as might be used for a newsletter. It also has the advantage that the message itself is not overwhelmed by the addressee list.
Polite protocol would involve a to entry naming the sender.

Finally, If you did not solicit the email, then there is nothing you can do to stop what is actually spam. The spammers do not play by the rules and they change their characteristics to avoid spam filters. Do not unsubscribe from a spammer list that you did not subscribe to. Did I mention that spammers do not play by the rules.
You might be lucky, if say the e-mail came legitimately from Argos, Tesco etc. They will have included an unsubscribe option that you can trust.

Good luck and welcome to the community of spammer targetting.

If you block someone on Gmail can you later unblock them and their queue of emails will be available?

If you block someone on Gmail can you later unblock them? Yes you can…and their queue of emails will be available? Will be available in the spam folder. When you block someone, their emails are sent to the SPAM folder without ever reaching your Inbox. This folder only keeps emails for 30 days, after 30 days the emails are automatically deleted so these you wont get. When you unblock someone, its only the new emails that will now go into your inbox. All emails received when the block was in effect will be in the spam folder.
