Being a good looking chap he loved his hair but we decided that appearing for semester exams was more important.I waited outside till he got his hair shaved and we went to HODs office.When he came out he was very sad.Our department head had already granted him leave beforehand as he was a good student.Now he had a shaved which went waste..His expression was priceless. This is the first time I am sharing my experience with going bald. I shaved my head back in December 2015. I was 23 years old then. I am a PhD scholar and stay in campus for around 11 months out of 12.I had a reason to go bald. I wanted to overcome the fear of having no hair on my head and experience everything related to it. I had short hair back in school days but my head was never bald, not even when I was a baby. So, I decided to chop it all off with the help of my friend who had nothing better to do for the day ;). And trust me dear it has been an enlightening journey. The blissful showers, no extra expenses on all those shampoos, conditions and oils. And most importantly not giving a fuck about what anybody thinks about your appearance.I had decent long hair as you can see in my profile picture. So, before cutting all of it, I decided to go step by step. Reducing the length every 3–4 months. I had shoulder level length when I went bald. This is before.and this is afterI got comments that I look like a monk!!I did not tell my parents when I did this, but surprised them when I went home after 2 months with thisIt was fun for me to see their faces :). I am quite lucky that I have really cool parents. They didn’t bother about my appearance and that I didn’t look ‘girly’ anymore.Also, believe me dear I went to a wedding at my friend’s place a month after in January. I really enjoyed all the stares and all the ‘concerning’ looks. The aunties must be thinking, “ye pagal ladki kiski dost hai” (who is friends with this mad girl?). This is how I went to the weddingIt has been 1.5 years since and this is my current length after trimming 1 inch.I enjoyed this journey a lot and I might do it again someday.One suggestion, I did it in winter so I had to keep the scalp moisturized daily as I stay in Kanpur and it gets really cold here. If you are planning to do it in summers, shield it from direct sunlight while going out.

I have visited thirumala Thirupathi for the first time when I had just completed my Intermediate and was about to enter my BPharmacy 1st year.When I was very young about 2 or 3 years my mother prayed to Balaji about my brother’s heart surgery and if it is successful then she would make everyone in my family to shave off their heads. Ultimately we visited after many years.My mother had never forced me to shave my head because I'm in my teens and girls value their hair a lot and to everyone’s surprise it was me who first gave off my hair. My parents felt happy because I have given priority to God over external beauty.Everything was okay until I have joined my college. In the initial days I used to wear a scarf covering my head just like how Muslim women wear a scarf over burka. Later when my classmates got to know that I have shaved my head, then everyone started ridiculing me. In all my first year I have been questioned regularly about my hair and why did I shaved my head. This became a ritual and I used to get irritated a lot. Even they have given me a pet name GUNDU pilla.Later they have stopped bothering me because in the second year another girl of my batch shaved her head and they started ridiculing her.However because of my hair I wasn't an eye candy to any of the guys and no one has ever bothered me which was peaceful to me. But when my hair was fully grown which took about 3 years people started noticing that I was beautiful too and most of the girls envied me because I had straight and silky hair.Whatever it is if you wish to shave your head just think about the consequences you are gonna face. I am not warning you I was just saying to be prepared and don't give a f*ck to what people call you and scrutinise you.Be confident and no matter what if you have hair or not you are beautiful. Hair is just an addition to the external beauty.

All my aunts are complaining about me having long hair. What could I do?
So my dad's side of the family are old fashioned, in the way that they believe guys must have short hair, and girls must have long hair.I am a 15 year old guy, and I have been growing my hair out for a year (I used to have tight hair), and my aunts from my dad's side keep passing comments, complaining about it, and also all my aunts have bobcuts, so they are mad that I have the same hairstyle. It's really pissing me off cos anytime I see them together they tell me to cut my hair. Any advice?
