I Want To Sound Like A Man

I sound like a man....?

You should be happy with the voice that you have, because trying to sound like something or someone you are not is unrealistic or in lack of better terms, Fake. My voice is not high, I have sort of a medium voice, kind of raspy but I have learned to accept that.. because when you get older you're not going to be able to hide that and it makes you unique so why would you want it to be any different? Don't let what others say about your voice get to you, because it's your own and EVERYONE has flaws.

Your voice is fine the way it is, remember that =)

I sound like a man on skype?

How you sound to yourself is not how you sound to others. Your listen to your own voice through the bones and skin of your head rather than in through your ears.

How your voice sounds when you listen to it through the speakers is usually closer to how your voice actually sounds to others. To be sure its an accurate reproduction you can try the following:
1) Make sure the pickup microphone is not a piece of junk. You might have to spend a little more, but if sound quality is important, then you shouldn't mind too much.
2) Make sure the speakers are working correctly and are at least 8 ohms. You want to avoid those that reproduce sound as "tinny".
3) Make sure you haven't turned on any of the sound enhancements that come with Windows. If you must use one of the sound enhancements, choose "Vocal".

How to make me sound like a guy?

Do not dramatically deepen your voice or you're going to sound fake. Speak in much more of a monotone than you're used to--no inflections. Think the opposite of valley girl. Be curt. Don't laugh. Say "bro" or "man" once, if appropriate. Speak from your chest and not through your nose.

How can a transgender man best sound like a man?

I want to say something about this.  I sang a lot in high school and college.  In high school the choral director had me singing baritone (1st base).  In college I went and tried out.  The choral director was thrilled to find he had a "full blown first tenor" in me.  He said that the director in high school took the easy way out probably because he didn't have the time to work with me. I could sing alto as well when I was in practice. My ex wife of many years was a soprano and her speaking voice was high and squeeky in high school.  She had voice lessons to help her have a normal speaking voice and hers wasn't all that different from mine in day to day speakingSo my speaking voice is whatever I make it be.  A female sounding voice is different in other ways than just range.  And then there is Donald Duck's voice.  I can't do that as well.I suspect some voice lessons would suffice for most people, especially to change gender based intonation patterns.  I can't get anywhere near James Earl Jones and his rich rumble.  I have a huge chest and lungs, I can fill a hall but I just can't get anywhere near his low tones.

How do you tell a transgender woman that she sounds like a man? Is it a good idea to tell them?

(Anon for the privacy of my friend. To be honest, I'd love to have this recorded as my answer, but I also respect my friend.)Okay, I'm fighting to not to break the BNBR rule in defense of my friend. My friend is trans. They haven't gone through any changes yet, and haven't come out to their family. They still sound like a girl. They still sound like the person I knew as female before they came out to me and a few others. They pass pretty well as male. But, like your friend, they do not sound like the gender they identity as. Here is what I advise.Don't tell them. They likely know that they don't sound like a girl. They've probably heard it in a video played back at them, or they've simply just known it hasn't changed. To tell them would be upsetting, at the least. It's better to leave it. Do not tell them.Say this with me. “My friend knows that they sound like the gender they were born with, I do not need to mention it to them. To do so would hurt their feelings, and I like my friend enough to not willingly do so.”Remember that your friend is a girl. What her voice sounds like does not change that.TL;DR: Don't tell them. It isn't a good idea. They likely know, and to mention it would upset them.

I am a girl and my voice sounds like a man. Some people judge me for that and it makes me feel insecure. What should I do?

Something I know alot about. I downloaded one of those voice analyzer apps to my phone.Turns out my voice lies in the “androgynous” range between male and female. How has this affected me in life?Well, I find that over the phone, most women call me Ma'am, and most men call me Sir.The reason for this? Women realize that there are many women with deep voices, aunts, mothers, co-workers.Men, on the other hand, err on the side of caution. If the voice is a little low, they automatically think male. It's programmed into their brains: a sexy, high-pitched voice signals fertile female to the primitive part of their brains.I've learned to accept it, but it still brings me down a bit because I wish I had a prettier voice, and once men hear me over the phone, they're turned off.A positive, that I take advantage of sometimes, is when a guy thinks I'm a man over the telephone, I usually get treated with more respect. It's true; its like owning a penis for a few minutes.I know, however, that this is probably small or no consolation to a young girl who wants to be thought of as soft and pretty.I could suggest you try to create a sexy, smokey voice by imitating actresses, like Kathleen Turner, who have deep voices. But to be honest, most men think of Kathleen Turner as Chandler Bing's crossdressing dad from the sitcom, F.R.I.E.N.D.’s.I wish I could tell you to embrace your voice, dare to be different, and love the voice you have.I know it doesn't work that way; women are supposed to have high-pitched voice, and everytime someone calls you “Sir” it's going to bring you down.I've included a video of a young girl with a deep voice. She sounds like Minnie Mouse compared to me, so all I can say is that people have a very stereotyped notion of what a female is supposed to sound like, and it sucks.Good luck.

Why does Finn from the cartoon Adventure Time sound like a man in Seaon 4?

It seems like the voice actor grew up or went through some real life change because now Finn the human sounds like he grew up. This makes the show lose it's cuteness and it just seems weird now.
