I Want To Start Working Out Where Do I Start

How do I start working out?

I am 6'1" 150 pounds (im really skinny with long arms) and i don't know where to begin exercising. Should I get a gym membership or should i start out slow at home? and should i go to machines or free weights or cardio first? I would love to start working out but im confused about where to start bodybuilding.

I really want to start working out. Where do I start?

Hire a personal trainer! It's not terribly expensive and probably worth more than what it costs. Most gyms have trainers available or can recommend one. There are trainers who devote their lives to fitness coaching and many have a four year degree in fitness and health. So, they know what they're doing. The difference between having some basic training and trying to do it yourself is a total deal breaker. You'll only need 3-5 sessions with your trainer. The first session will be an assessment and discussion, then the trainer will design a custom program tailored to your current fitness level. The custom program will minimize your chances of injury and hasten your overall progress. In subsequent sessions, she'll show you how to do the warmup routine and use the weights and machines for best results. Once you get the hang of the routine you'll feel more confident, focused and intentional in your workout. Not only will you learn a lot, but you'll make a new friend (your trainer) and have a resource person for questions or problems. If you can stay at it for at least a year, you will be amazed at the difference it will make in your life! You'll look better, feel better, have more energy and an increased life expectancy. The second trick is to stay very disciplined for the first three months. Have a regular schedule for 3-5 hours a week at the gym and make it a top priority. Once you get into the habit it becomes almost automatic and possibly the thing you look forward to most in your weekly routine.Good luck and have fun!

Should i start working out? im 14?

I would think that you are ok to start working out. I believe the too young refers to people who have not yet entered puberty and it is not growth that gets stunted so much as too much muscle pulling on bones that have not yet got strong enough to hold the muscle.
Your body does need rest between workouts and so I would advise trying to set up a regime were you work the upper half of your body one day, then the lower half the next and take a day's break and then repeat that. So say upper on Monday, lower on Tuesday, nothing on Wednesday, upper on Thursday, lower on Friday and nothing over the weekend.
Also begin with doing lower weights for more reps rather than trying to push for the bigger weights. Working out is not a competition to see who can push the most. It is a system to gradually build the muscle tone of the body. Another thing that will help is to do keep fit and stamina exercises before pushing the weights. Like star jumps, crunches, running etc. start with about 20 minutes keep fit and then 20 minutes work out and gradually build to an hour of each per session.

Is 26 too old to start working out?

I'd say that too late to lift weights and get big doesn't happen until about age 50. Then your testosterone is really down and it's harder to put on muscle. If you look at guys after age fifty, they kinda start to shrivel up a little. Their neck will get a bit thinner. They won't have that full look. This is because of low testosterone and not being able to keep on as much muscle as easily.

Even 40 isn't too late. A lot of guys start lifting in their early or mid forties, they hit middle age and want to keep their youth and vitality and look good and so they start lifting weights.

You're not even close to too old. Just right into it. Read up. There's lots to know. It's fun. Girls love it when you're in good shape too. And it helps with self confidence. Enjoy it. Lifting is great :)

I want to start working out, but I'm 13 years old (UK)?

I've never really done anything impressive with muscle but what I can without money, I have lots of money (I sell things in school I make roughly £45 a month) I have alright biceps doing pressup workouts and I do pullups which are cool but is is possible for me to go to a gym at my age so I can work on my shoulders and stuff like that, how do I ask my mum to let me get the equipment?

What age should you start working out?

Im 14 now and i play soccer. Im just wondering what age can i start lifting weights and stuff like that. Im not that strong and i want to become bigger. How often should i work out and should i start now or in a couple years?

Is 13 too young to start working out?

I don't think 13 is too young to start working out but i think you need to do it the right way or you'll hurt yourself especially the weight lifting. have someone show you how to properly do these exercises, i see all to often where 40 yr olds come in my office and have been exercising wrong all their life because someone didn't teach them the proper way and now they have back issues or neck issues or their muscles are always strained. always remember to get a doctors approval first just to make sure you won't hurt yourself. don't over do the exercise because that could lead to sprains strains pulled or torn muscles, it doesn't feel good and your parents probably wouldn't want that medical bill. eat healthy lots of vegetables and protein. if you're not into eating meat you can have nuts and protein shakes research your food before you eat it. you should have at least one day off so only exercise like 5 to 6 days a week and try and balance your exercise with YOGA AND MASSAGE. from personal experience this is the most important, balance.

exercise is good at any age and better to start young so you have healthy habits all your life.
