Should I wish my ex's mom a happy birthday or is that awkward?
My ex's mother's birthday is on the 21st. I want to wish her a happy birthday over facebook, maybe send her a message or post it on her wall, but I'm afraid that might be awkward. I was only with my ex for 3 months, but 90% of that time I was with his family. I got to really appreciate & care for his family; they were always extremely welcoming & I was very comfortable around them. But I haven't spoken to my ex since we broke up about 2 months ago. We're not exactly on bad terms, we broke up because it was too difficult to balance his freshmen year if college while having a girlfriend. But soon after his ex he's known for about 4 years & hadn't spoken to in around 6 months came back & asked to try dating again, & i was too hurt to try & be friends like he asked. Overall I do miss his family, & I would like to wish his mom a happy birthday. But is that awkward?

Should I wish my ex-boyfriend a happy birthday?
Unless you two still hang out as friends, I'd say no for your own sake. Trust me, I've been in similar situations before. You may find yourself getting really hurt if he gives you a cold or indifferent response. The worst thing that can happen is that he might think you're stalking him, no matter what your good intentions are. In the end it will only make you more sad, especially if you're trying to get over him. However, don't feel this will be the last relationship you'll ever have though. Always believe that you'll find someone else who will cherish everything you have to offer.
How to wish happy birthday to a girl I like?
A simple Happy Birthday right off the bat in the beginning of the phone call should really show her you care. Catching someone by surprise is always a good thing. Then you can talk about her after the surprise, like how was her day/how did her birthday go(late at the day) or what is she planning to do for her birthday (around the morning). You should know (you do have her number) what she likes, her personality, so go from there. Basically be yourself, once you start a lot taking advice from other people, you become a little like that person, and less like yourself. So listen to your heart. Face to face sounds better but if you can't then a phone call should still be appreciated.
