I Was F*cked In A Church After Service [part 2]

What are the differences between the Catholic Church and United Church of Christ?

First, in the efforts of full disclosure I must admit that I was raised in a UCC Church, am still a member of a UCC Church, and am currently a representative for the Kansas-Oklahoma Conference to the Wider-Church Ministries Council. So yeah, I love this church. I am afraid that I won't be very objective in these following paragraphs.

Fundamentally, the two denominations could not be more different. I will use the example of communion. The Catholic church believes that once you partake of the bread it trandsends itself and becomes the actual embodiment of the body of christ. In the UCC, we see this as more of a metaphor as our need to repent and be saved by a higher power.

This leads me to my next point, whereas the Catholic church lays down an absoulte doctrine that must be followed otherwise the action results in sin, the UCC is very... tolerant. We realize that we are not the judge of men. We are a "market place of ideas" if you will, a constantly changing and updating doctrine. We embrace our differences and seek to encourage each other so that we may be closer to God. There are many times where I disagree with my fellow church members, AND THATS ALL RIGHT! We disagree without becoming disagreeable. We don't seek to validate our opinions by the acceptence of mortal men.

Lastly, the UCC is a social justice driven organization where the Catholic is driven by theology. As congragationalists we are highly independent. Its like every church has its own flavor or personality. The experience you recieve at one chucrh will not mirror one from even a neighborhing church.

Now I hope I didn't disparage the Catholic church in any way. The fact is if a person wants to express their faith in any way its a very good thing and I'm happy for them. But to respectfully discent, I LOVE my church. If you want more informantion I linked you some websites. If you wish to contact me feel free to do so. I truly enjoy spreading the word. Best of luck in your travels, mate!

Part 2: Top or Bottom Celebs?

I found this very interesting question and realized it was the only one of its kind.

So I was curious to see if we could keep it going:

If these celebrities were gay, would he be a Top or Bottom?

a.) David Beckham
b.) Robert Pattinson
c.) Joe Jonas
d.) Drake Bell
e.) Patrick Dempsey
f.) Chace Crawford
g.) Ashton Kutcher
h.) Christian Bale
i.) Sean William Scott
j.) Colin Farrell
k.) Adam Brody
l.) Shia Labeouf

Time to Vote!

I want to go to church for the first time. What should I do?

It depends on the type of church. There are some churches that have congregations where jumping and dancing for joy is accepted/encouraged. Some can be quite toned down and almost somber (ahah, makes me think of an old cathedral). I personally go to one that's in between (we do dance actions with the pastor/youth minister for the younger kids sometimes). It's pretty easy to get a feel of a church, it's all about first impression really. The average age of the congregation may also be a clue. Older people may not be as interested or up doing the jig first thing in the morning, even if the kids are squirming in their seats waiting to be let out to Sunday school.I believe that it is a church's duty to be welcoming to all people, regardless of who they are or identify as—with complete knowledge of the Bible or zilch. There may not be flower petals showering you as you walk in, but you should't feel like sneaking out because you feel surprisingly uncomfortable. Some churches may even have a welcoming committee! It's also helpful if you know people who go there, even if it's just an acquaintance. Also, to know the background/denomination of the church. I see myself as a Protestant Christian and I attend an anglican church. I've been to other anglican churches—no two are the same. It's hard to generalize churches (is it a mass church? with a tiny congregation? does it rent out/share its space?) since there are so many types and its the congregation that make the church; the building can move or be knocked down while the church still stands!Sorry if I seem to be rambling, but I really would be sad to find out that your first time at church was horrible. If it's just slightly nerve-wracking, try it out again, especially if you haven't gotten to know anyone yet (chat with the pastor). If you have any more questions or think I wasn't that clear, let me know!Have a nice day, and God Bless :D

My parents force me to go to the Meetings! What should I do?

Okay I am 14 and my parents are Jehovah Witness. If your a Jehovah Witness I am sorry to say what I am about to say .
I really do NOT like going there..........
Because
1.I think its wasting my d*** Time
2.I don't think is worth it
3.My parents force me to go
4.Its BORING
5.I think its STUPID
6.My parents threaten to take away my puppy away from me if i don't go to the meetings and give him to someone else
7.I really don't get what's the point of it
8. I doubt what they say is true
9.I think my father cares more of his religion than his family and home
10.I can't stand it in there
11. My mom forces me in dresses and skirts and I am tomboy
12. Supposibly my father is a Witness and he can't even keep his family together he is always avoiding problems and changes the subject every time he may be my mom's husband but he is NOT my dad

Back Then I begged my parents to take to the meetings and now I am like this.

Some of these reasons are pretty stupid but those are my reasons

What should I do ?
This Friday in the Memorial of Jesus ..........if I don't go They will take my puppy and I already lost my dog Max my only best friend who died in the beginning of March and if my puppy goes I will feel lonely again

How did Kate, Sawyer, Hurley and Jack die is Season Finale of Lost? H bomb?

What i made of it was that, jack dies when he closed his eyes, most likely just of blood loss due to the stab wound. And Christian's 'some died long after' i think just means those on the ajira plane got away from the island and made it back to the real world. They then will all have died at home in wherever they went after they made it back from old age or however they died. So they made it back in other words. And for desmond hurley and ben, desmond was taken hoome via hurley and ben somehow, maybe he never went back but makes a nicer ending if he got back to penny. As for hurley and ben due to the fact i think the island was ( turned of sort of speak by desmond ) when hurley drank the water he didnt really become jacob and have any powers or long life, he just believed he did, he will have died on the island with ben of whatever they died of, old age, sickness etc just like those on the plane.

As for the church it was odd, no Michael, he died and was a main person, Walt most likely not dead and not really a big part for 6 seasons more like 2.Plus mr eko, ana lucia etc. I just think there were people who were avaliable or something im not sure. And richard just wasnt there due to the rest not really being friends with him to the point of the rest of them with each other.

Thats my idea though, i hope this helped

What’s the most racist thing you’ve seen happen in America?

This really isn't the single most racist thing that I've seen or heard ,but it's just something that popped up in my head.I remember, in the early 2000’s, when I was working at a famously named department store outlet and then 9/11 happened, right there, on the television, in the store, they closed the store while all of the workers watched on t. v. as it unfolded before our eyes. .The very next week, I went back to work one day and this f*cking retard comes into the store, goes to the jewelry dept. and harasses one of the most nicest and caring people who worked there. She was probably no older than 19, or 20 years old,. She was from a muslim immigrant family and she wore a hijab just on her head/hair but not covering her face at all.And she really was, honestly, the nicest person that worked in the entire store. But some dumbass came in, walked up to her and told her to “go back to where she came from. “I just remembered thinking about how wrong that was when I heard about it, and I was a little pissed off, even though it didn't directly effect me, because I knew what kind of person she was and I knew she really didn't deserve it.It was also a f*cking stupid comment for him to make, when the truth is, it reality, she actually had a brother who was in the US military and went over seas and ended up getting killed, seriously, fighting and ultimately giving up his life, for the U. S. and in service for the national U. S . government.Lol I, f*cking bet that faggot who made the comment to her when she was working at the store , didn't have the balls to join the military and then fight and, ultimately, give up his own life, in service to the U. S. government overseas.. LolI've seen where other posters might sometimes have a vaguely similar story
