I Was Threatened At Work By Another Co Worker Can I Request To Be Transferred To Another Dillards

What is attitude according to you? How does it define the life you live? Can you build a positive attitude? If so, how?

Attitude towards life:I am sharing my experience of meeting with an old man whose attitude towards life and work has struck hard on me.We (I and my friends) used to visit an orphanage house "Ved Mandir Balniketan" in our city Jammu (Jammu and Kashmir). The authority there (as they know I was a Web Developer) asked us to design a website for them.We decided to take on the project and I get time only on Sundays and sometimes Saturdays to visit them and have the information , images etc to put on the website. It was  during this project we met extremely wonderful kids there.Usually in Ved Mandir Balika Niketan (orphanage house meant for girls), Visitors are not allowed to enter.I was given the permission to enter and  click some of the pictures of the girls.I still remember I told the girls to say Paneer (cheese) and they laughed out so loud making fun of me and I clicked this shot.Their attitude towards happiness was amazing. Now after I clicked that picture. I happened to look at the gate of that Orphanage House. There was an old man sitting and polishing the shoes of the girls. I asked Sh Sudesh pal (Secretary of Vedmandir about that old Man)He told me this man comes to ved mandir every Saturday Sunday and polish the school shoes of these girls free of cost. The man actually is a cobbler and he helps those kids with what he is having. This is his way of serving them. This is an Attitude of an Old man to help those kidsNo matter What you are , What you do, but an Attitude like this does make a differenceHere is the website that we have designed and donated to them : Ved Mandir Balniketan We have tried not to use the word orphanage in the website as suggested by ved mandir committee. They do not let the children feel as orphans. If someone likes to donate them Donate to Ved Mandir Balniketan amphalla jammuWrite AnswerCharacter is what you are; Reputation is what people think you are. Thanks to Seema Ji for  A2A

Have you ever quit a job without having the new one lined up?

Yes I did and it was the best decision of my life.A little context can help here… I was working for a major financial firm and my bosses boss was driving the division to ground by cronyism and incompetence. Investigated the person for six months, brought in outside experts to testify on the persons ineptitude and corrupt activities (favouritism, bullying, cronyism etc). When board did not act on my counsel, in the last act of ineptitude of this person, I had a chance to intervene and solve the issue, but doing so I managed to get my bosses boss to threaten to fire me as I stepped on that person’s toe (on purpose of course). Unknown to that person I was in touch with board of directors at that point. In order to force action, I quit after giving a speech detailing all infractions I was aware of including the last one and sending an email detailing all that took place to the board, essentially forcing their hand. They investigated the person, put that person in effective demotion almost immediately (first person that person spoke to vent stress called me the moment that person left the room… how sad is that) and resulting in termination after a few months. Funny thing is, everybody around that person knew why this was happening and who was responsible (let’s say I dropped a few not so subtle hints to those that are known to be the busy bodies of the firm). Last time I checked that person’s career trajectory was halted… one less snake in suit sounded like a fair deal to the boring job I gave up.Within a few months moved out to another city head hunted by major tech firm and made life long supporters of my colleagues and owners of the major financial firm.I am slowly writing a book titled “Quicksand” on how to bait and trap incompetent, self-serving corrupt psychopaths passing for “corporate leadership” in their own game based on my real life experience. It is so easy and fun, it gotta be illegal :).Moral of the story: If you stand by your principles and act on them, especially when doing the right thing costs something to you, universe seems to take notice. As I told in the first line, this was the best decision I made… period. Paid out dividends financially, personally and reputation-ally.
