I Went In On A House With A Work Buddy He Has A Dog That Has D Rated The Value Of The House. What

Can puppies stay at home alone for 9 hours while I'm at work?

As long as the puppy is trained, this should not be a problem, though it is not the proper way to treat a puppy. Puppy's need playtime, and a lot of it. They will get into trouble when you let them out of the cage if they have not gotten out of the house. Puppies also like attention. If you do not give them plenty of attention, they will feel lonely and yet again become destructive.

I would suggest looking online for at least a dog walking service, or day care center that would give you a lower price, since it would be everyday. This will keep the puppy having fun, and occupied while you are gone, though happy to see you when you got home.

If you are not willing to to pay for a service, or bring the puppy to work with you, I don't think it would be a good idea to get a new puppy, for he would be miserable all day.

Hope this helps :D

Would you be annoyed if a friend let his dog into your house while he was housesitting for you?

When people do you a favor appreciate it. If the dog was a problem for you you should have asked him not to bring it in the house. If you two didn’t discuss such things it is your fault. If he didn’t clean up after his dog be upset. Never ask him for favors again if he was negligent with the care of your home. The purpose of housesitting is to follow specific instructions to maintain the household and to occupy the house to prevent theft. Here are 10 things you should do when you are house sitting.1. Know the house rules. For example, should you be using the A/C or not?, Is the dog allowed on the couch? etc.2. WI-FI password to stay connected . Do not use this as an opportunity to download files!3. Be organised. Choose a room/corner in the house to keep all your stuff.4. Emergency contact. Keep emergency contacts saved on your phone or stuck on the fridge.5. Lock every door and window whilst you are absent from the property.6. Stock up food you have eaten. It's okay to eat as long as you replace it.7. Daily Check list. Have a to-do list to water the plants, feed the dog, feed the fish etc.8. Don't be a stranger to the neighbours you may need their help and being friendly will keep them from calling the cops.9. Make your bed and change the sheets before you leave.10. Surprise the owner with a welcome gift. Flowers, cookies or a card. Now, here are the 10 Don’ts when you are house sitting:1. Don't have a house party.2. Don’t mess with the gadgets.3. Don’t try to change things. The house should be left the way the owner left it.4. Don’t offer to do more than what you have agreed. Changing a lightbulb or tightening a tap connector is not your job.5. Don’t spill anything on the carpet.6. Don’t stat wine tasting. Don't raid the alcohol at the owners place.7. Don’t invade privacy and personal belongings on the property.8. Don’t make long distance calls from their landline.9. Don’t leave the house in a mess.10. Don’t neglect your duties. Complete all house sitting tasks as agreed upon.

When did a dog save you?

I met Elto at a very low point in my life. I had just gotten divorced and my finances were terrible to say the least. I had very few friends and lived alone.About a year before calling it quits, my ex suggested I get a dog. I had wanted a beagle for years, but my desires always got put on the back burner for others in the family. So off to the shelter we went, looking for a beagle or beagle mix that would go with me hunting and fishing and all that other fun stuff. Long story short, we came home with a cat for her.So there I was, just about finished with my move when I heard s call in radio show called “The Country Sale.” A fellow had a 6 to 12 month beagle type dog that he’d found dumped. He’d tried to make him an inside lap dog, but it wasn’t working. He said the dog would be better suited to a 20 acre farm and someone with enough time and energy to handle him. Well, wouldn’t you know it, I was on 22 acres and had no job. So I went to meet him and the dog.For the next 6 years, Elto and I were inseparable. We went everywhere together. Elto loved to hunt and fish and would hop in the truck any time I wanted to go somewhere. So how did he save me? I had a friend. If he stayed home while I went to work, I knew he’d greet me when I got back. I never felt alone when Elto was with me. I had someone who loved me and I had someone to love. He helped me out of my depression and gave me reason to keep going.Sadly, I lost Elto in November of 2016.

Is it ok to leave adult dog alone for 10 hours M-F ?

i worked full time for seven years with two dogs and i was gone from the house the 8 hour workday plus an hour to get there and an hour to get home ... so ten hours monday to friday and my dogs were fine ... they were mellow in the house, not barkers, not destructive, they were just fine ... if full time workers were exempt from owning dogs, millions more would need to be put down each year, so buy yourself a dog :O) depending on the dog, i would suggest more exercise before leaving alone for that long and i would suggest more exercise when you get home ... but if exercised appropriately and loved and cared for, you can get a dog being a full-time worker ... i do leave the tv on for my current dog but i have no idea if that is helpful or just something in my own mind that is comforting :O)

Can a Newfoundland dog get along all right in an apartment?

Your main concern with at Newf will be hair and drool. They are very large but, do not require a lot of exercise. That doesn't mean they are lazy. They like to work and be occupied. The dog will be fine in an apartment as long as you keep it interested in something. Training, walks, toys and personal attention will all keep the dog happy. I have a small home and three of my dogs are Saint Bernards. They do not require the exercise that my Labs do. However, a bored Newf will become destructive and just as they are larger so is their destruction. Also, Large dogs do not make good running partners. Too much stress on the joints can cause problems. Walks and short runs are OK. I would check with the vet as to how much running would be alright for your dog. If the dog is not used to going for runs you should slowly work the dog up to reach that goal set by the vet. Good Luck they are wonderful dogs.

What is the fool proof way to house break a small puppy?

Try newspaper on the kitchen floor. You will need to clean it every time its used, however, it will train the pupply to use something other than the carpet. At 6 weeks you can then let the puppy outside to train it to use the lawn.

In your opinion, are cats or dogs better? Why?

It really depends on your lifestyle, what you value in a pet, your time commitment, etc....  Some people decide to get both.  Here are some things to think about.  (I'm not a big cat person, so I may have some cat facts wrong).Advantages of Dogs:Dogs are always happy to see you. They yearn for your affection, will follow you around the house, and will come when called. They are loyal and really enjoy your company.Dogs are more trainable.  Teaching them to do tricks is fun, although it does take some time investment.Dogs are great activity partners.  You can take them running, hiking, and walking in off-leash areas (some beaches and parks allow your dog to roam free). It's awesome having a running partner who's ready to go whenever you are.Dogs can be hypoallergenic.  If you have allergies, you can find breeds of dogs that don't shed.  Cats like to clean themselves a lot, and the saliva dries up and turns into allergy-inducing dander.Dogs are good alarm systems.  I feel safer knowing our dogs will alert us if there are intruders, especially the evil possums and squirrels.  I think I read a study somewhere that said neighborhoods with dogs have a lower chance of break-ins.Puppies are cute.Advantages of Cats:Cats are lower maintenance.  You don't need to take them on walks or runs to keep them happy and healthy.  You can also leave town for a weekend, and the cat will feed, water, and clean up after itself.  You'll need to board the dog if you're going anywhere.Cats don't require training.  If you don't have time to teach your dog good behavior, you're going to have a tough time with bad behavior.  Cats, on the other hand, naturally do the right thing (in general).  Also, cats aren't really trainable, so it's a moot point.Cats don't smell bad.  Most dogs do (not our labradoodles -- they usually smell like teddy bears).Cats don't need a yard.  Having a yard and doggy door is more convenient for dog owners.  Cats are good to go with their litter boxes.Cats don't bark.  They do, however, have a wretched meow when they're in heat.Kittens are cute.
