I Will Be Relocating To Houston Tx Soon. What Is The Averague Cost Of Living Electricity Water

I am Relocating to Houston. What is average cost of living in houston(rent,food,car,utilitie... etc)?

First of all, congratulations on the job offer and welcome to our country and state. I'm a Texan and even though I've traveled extensively in North and Central America as well as in Europe and Asia, there's no place I'd rather live than in Texas. I live in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, about 250 miles (about 400 km) from Houston but I have relatives in Houston so I'm pretty familiar with that city too. Here are my answers:

1) Apartment Rent (1-2 BR) : From $800 to $ 1000/month

2) Food (If mostly cooked at home) & groceries: About $600/month

3) Utility bills (electricity, water, gas): About $250

4) If you buy a car on installments : A new reliable car can be bought for $ 1000 initial payment (just one time) and then, $ 250/month. Car insurance, assuming you're over 25: add another $100/month.

5) Any other major expenses..Gasoline (petrol) is still relatively cheap compared to Europe: About $ 150/month on the average (about $ 2.25/US gallon).

How much taxes would be deducted from [your salary]? Your salary is actually $6,250 per month, about 25% in taxes will be deducted so that'll leave you with about $4,688.

After the expenses listed above, you'll have $ 2, 338 left for other expenses and savings.

Your salary, for a professional man [i.e. a university graduate with a few years of experience] would be about average. For a non-professional man, it would be a good salary. The average household income in Houston is just over $ 58,000/year so you're in pretty good shape.

Good luck and enjoy Houston and Texas!

Relocating to Houston.. what are the average monthly living expenses?

I am currently not living in Europe and I will be relocating to Houston in 4 months time.
I am negotiating on my salary next week, but I can imagine it will be in the region of USD 45K / year.

I am single and will be moving alone. Please could you help me with what you might consider to be the average costs of living and what I will expect to spend per month on the below

1) Apartment Rent (large 1 BR)
2) Food (If mostly cooked at home) & groceries
3) Utility bills (electricity, water, gas)
4) Health insurance / home insurance / car insurance
5) Any other major expenses..

I will be given USD 8K to purchase a company car, so this will be covered.

Further to all this, I don't have any idea about taxes.
If my salary is 45k a year (3,750 a month) can you help me work out how much I can expect to pay?
Also, will this be automatically deducted from my salary?

Any help will be much appreciated, thanks!

What are utility bills like in Houston, Texas?

Sometimes it can be outrageous….. Back in 90’s it was lot less. Houston area do not provide nuclear energy like, San Antonio, Austin, and the rest of South Texas. I have a small 2 bedrooms apartment. Summer electric rate can be $130–150 to run cooling air conditioning. Mine is having problems ( Goodman- Not recommend). And no matter how, I keep lights down. Fall and winter hot and humidity up and down…. Could be $70, 80, 100.Low income residents are having a hard time in getting assistance in various agencies. Including county. Long waiting. They do not give much. Could be $50 or less until money ran out. It’s tough.Living in Houston is very difficult. Cost keep going up since every decades it keep growing and keep prices going up and up.

Is 120k gross a good salary to live with my family in Houston Texas?

Definitely. We have no state income tax, so you get to keep more of your money. Land is plentiful and new, affordable suburban housing is widely available. Depending on the locarion, $500,000 would buy a small mansion. Be sure to check the schools first, though. Because of the recent flood of migrants, some districts have experienced over-crowding. Tip: When buying a home, make sure the a/c can keep it cool in August or you will be sorry. The first conversation you have with your neighbors should be about hurricanes. Does the neighborhood get a lot of wind damage? Does it flood? How long until the electric is turned back on? Stuff you can't get from a pamphlet. You will thank me for this tip one day:This spring, measure your windows and buy plywood sheets to cover them before a hurricane hits. Number them, drill holes in both the wood and matching ones into the house, then store them with the hardware you'll need to attach them. Don't be one of those idiots sitting for three hours at the lumber yard two days before a cat-3 blows into town.Houston is a wonderful place to live and has so much to do. From Galveston's beaches to its Dickens Christmas on the Strand, the zoo and aquarium, Hermann Park, the theater and museum districts, and a ton of water activities, there's always something going on. We just had the Super Bowl and want to snag an Olympics. We have bus service to the suburbs, but most either drive or Uber which is very popular. We also have two international all airports, including George Bush with five terminals, multiple colleges/universities, and are the home of the world class Houston Medical Center. You can drive to Austin, San Antonio, and Corpus Christi in four hours or less.Hope this helped!

How much does it cost to live in a trailer park?

In MI, you pay your own mortgage.

Site rent is about $350, and includes nothing. ALL utilities are paid by the residents. Taxes are only $3.00 per month, but in OH you pay them also, and they are based on the purchase price. Usually $1K to $2K

This is for a manufactured home community.

Trailer parks are about $25.00 per night.
