I keep hearing this ringing sound in my head. what's wrong with me?
i am hearing this ringing sound continuously, 24-7, and there is nothing that's making that noise. no one else around me hears this. this started last night, and i though it would go away in the morning, but it didn't. what's wrong with my ear?
Hearing distorted in one ear?
For congestion I would take Robitussin. I think there is a head and cough remedy that should be good for you. But if you think you have fluid in the ears, a benadryl will dry it up. I have heard and have friends that swear by this but have never personally tried it, but it couldn't hurt. Cut a white onion in 1/2. Hold the 1/2 to your disturbed ear for 5 minutes. They say the onion changes color and the ear is totally fine after that. Once again I have never tried it, don't suffer from ear aches, but I don't see how it could hurt you to try. If you want a more natural remedy for the congestion, boil water, make a tea bag with generic thyme, the spice, doesn't have to be organic or the leaves, I just use regular spice rack thyme. Add sweetener if desires and drink the tea. It will loosen all the phlegm causing congestion. You should feel it start to work in about 20-30 minutes and be much better in about 4 hours. You can always make the tea stronger or another batch if you are not as up to par as you want. Best of luck, hope you feel better soon!
All of a sudden I can't hear with my left ear, why?
your ear could be glogged with wax. you can use an OTC ear wax removal kit, did the doctor look in your ear? they should have told you it was clogged. you can request an antibiotic as well as the drops to help heal your infection
Hearing loss in one ear?
To me it sounds like more internal ear issue. I don't know if its possible to get a q tip (or cotton bud as I call them) to the ear drum but maybe if put pressure on the ear drum. I was once playing with some ear plugs and put one in one ear. Later on that evening I blew my nose (I had the flu) and the ear that i the ear plug in filled up with fluid in a few minutes. It was rather painful for a day and took ages (weeks) for the fluid to drain away. Its POSSIBLE putting pressure on the ear drum while playing with the q tip has caused fluid build up on the inside of the ear. This causes temporary hearing loss (until it drains away) and ringing in the ear drum is caused (at least I am pretty certain) is caused when the hairs in the ...um coclea (what ever you call the snail like thing filled with fluid) are bent and send messages to brain detecting sound. Again this goes away once the fluid drains. When my ear filled up, I also experienced dizziness, which is a sign the inner ear is involved, but the fact that yours is gone is a good sign. Try chewing gum as it seems to help drain the fluid a bit. You might hear popping sounds or swirling sounds as well, especially as the fluid drains and there is more air spaces in the ear. Give it another couple of days, unless the pain gets worse etc as it may be an infection.
My neck popped, and now it hurts to look up and turn my head to the right. What can I do to help the pain?
Try soaking in a hot tub with your neck parallel to the bottom. Try to wiggle it gently side-to-side to see if it goes back into place. You can’t imagine the potential pain in the arse it is if you neglect this.
Can someone help w/ my TMJ/ ear problem!!!! please? 10 points to the most informative?
Brit, For years I lived with a *CLICK* *CLICK* *CLICK* in my left ear,that would come and go. It was irritating but I knew it would pass in time. I seen an ENT Dr. who told my there was a bone in my inner ear the was dislodged following a sever blow to the head and I would need major surgery to go in from behind my ear to repair and at great risk of losing my hearing. So Needless to say I opted NO Surgery. The over the next yr, the clicking got louder and louder and would last for days non stop!! It Was MADDENING!! It was driving me absolutely crazy! , then as it grew even louder it started to hurt when it came on, The pain got so bad that I would sit on my couch all night with my hand cupped over my ear ,rocking back & forth with tears in my eyes! Nothing worked I tried ear drops, Flushing my ear, I even tried cold & Hot water ,and Then stepping outside into the cold air, I was desperate!! My wife who had to be convinced she had a gift even after many examples of her healing ability, was reluctant to try placing her hand over my ear for fear of causing me even more pain,One night it started and I told her , I just can't take this any more!! Please just try to help me, I can't do one more night like this!!" she agreed to try, I laid my head in her lap , she cupped her hand over my ear and tried to visualize the bone twitching and slowing to a stop,after about 15 min. the clicking got softer and softer and slowed to a stop, At 1st we both thought it may have just stopped on it's own like it usually did, But a 1/2 hr. later HER EAR started clicking!! She couldn't believe it, She said " OMG! If this is what you have been living with you must have been miserable!" Her ear click for the rest of that night and it stopped by morning, I did not have another episode of clicking for over a yr, Now it will start softly foe a few seconds and stop every few months or so. How this will help you I don't know, If you have a loved one who would be willing to just lay their hand on the side of your face and imagine it being healed, You may be as amazed as we are!
26 weeks pregnant and woke up with a blocked ear??
so i am 26 weeks pregnant. and just yesterday morning i woke up with one of my ears clogged up or blocked, where i can hear myself inside my head.. :O!! ugh, its driving me nuts.. what can be causing this? i got a minor headache but thats it.. no fever or runny nose... could this be synus related.. one of my nurses told me to take tyleno synus... but i didnt know a clogged up ear was due to synuses.. is there any other way to get rid of this??.. its really annoying!! anyone else have this during pregnancy??
