I Wonder What Would Happen If We Were To Disengage Our Troops From All Conflicts And Halve Our

How was the religion and economy in europe 1600-1700?PLZ HELP?

The religion was Catholic in France, Spain, Portugal and Greece. In The Netherlands and in England it was Protestant. Germany was not yet a nation, but numerous states, some of which were Catholic and some Protestant (Lutheran). This led to tensions and war. The Catholic inclined Stuart kings of England looked to France for inspiration - after Charles I had been executed, his son, the future Charles II took refuge in France. When James II ascended the throne as a Catholic there were tensions between him and Parliament which led to his eventual overthrow and the invitation to the Protestant William of Orange and his wife Mary to become joint monarchs. France began to take a harder line against Protestants during the century with Louis XIV repealing the Edict of Nantes which allowed religious toleration. Generally the century, throughout Europe, was not noted for toleration anywhere with constant conflict between Catholic and.Protestant. I'll leave someone else to comment on economy.

What would happen if the US Military unleashed its full might (except nukes)?

If the US Army, including the reserve components, was to launch an all-out attack (with the exception of nuclear weapons) against any opponent, the results would be similar to what we saw during Operation Desert Storm, EXCEPT, if the Opponent was Russia or China. These two countries are both capable of responding in kind, with Russia and China both willing to sacrifice far more human assets than the US would. Depending on the time of year and terrain, the battle would be fierce and sustained, and would rapidly escalate to involve all the other service components (Remember, the Chinese Navy is the People’s Army Navy) and most likely tactical nuclear weapons first, followed by strategic nuclear weapons. The US Army has not employed all of its assets at one time since the end of World War II, when there were approximately 8 million soldiers serving. None of the conflicts/wars we have been involved in during the past 70+ years has warranted an all-out effort, and hopefully, it never will.Side note to other commenters: The US Army had tactical nuclear weapons in its inventory through the end of the Cold War (I served in a couple of these units) and may have the capability today — see MGM-140 ATACMS - Wikipedia
