I Work At A Movie Theater And Was Recently Let Go. With No Notifacation Of It My Name Was Just Off

I recently found out that my son has been streaming movies for free from a site called 123movies. Am I going to be paid a visit by the cops? He claims that since he's only streaming the movies and not downloading them it's not illegal.

You won’t get a visit from “the cops” because it’s not a crime to stream or download movies, even if they’re “illegal”. Downloading unauthorized copies of a video for personal use is, in the United States, at most civil copyright infringement (and in some situations is not even that). It’s not a crime, and so the police will not be involved. You may get sued by the movie distributor, but there won’t be any cops coming to visit (except possibly to serve you with notice of the lawsuit). In addition, a stream is not a copy under US copyright law (US copyright law doesn’t cover what are called ephemeral copies) and so if he’s just streaming, he’s not committing any offense. The site providing the stream may be, and if they’re streaming illegally, they’re the ones on the hook for civil (and possibly criminal) copyright infringement, not you or your son. It is illegal to offer a stream (or download) of copyrighted audio or audiovisual content without a license from the copyright owner; it is not an offense to receive such a stream. The problem that people who download videos get into is that the tools used for downloading them usually also offer the downloaded content for further redistribution to others who want to download it. It’s this reoffering for further download by others that creates the legal problem for the downloader, not the download itself.Keep in mind that it’s also possible that what they’re doing is legal. Perhaps they generate revenue through advertisements embedded in or displayed alongside the stream, which they use to pay the royalties. Or they have some other arrangement that allows them to offer this content legally (or quasi-legally) without collecting a fee from their customers. If that’s what they do, it’s perfectly legal. (I have no idea what 123movies business model is, nor do I care.)

Donnie Darko questions? (people who have seen the movie)?

OK I will answer as many as I can, I wish you had numbered them lol.

The dude in the Bunny suit is Frank, Frank is/was a friend of Donnie's sister who attends their Halloween party Frank is shot by Donnie later in the film. In the film there are 2 Franks, real time Frank which is the one you see getting shot near the end and Time Travel Frank which is the one who is always talking to Donnie

Frank didn't have a bloody eye when he went over to Gretchen because it was real time Frank not the Frank that came form the future (think the Back to the future films when Marty meets his mom, they don't know each other yet etc). Frank in real time has never met Donnie before this moment.

No one was ever around when Frank was, think about it even when Frank is in the movie theater Gretchen is sleeping, no one sees him because he isn't around for them to.

I think that Frank came to see Donnie to prevent his own death. He does this by convincing Donnie that many other lives will be saved if Donnie dies by getting crushed by the airplane part (an airplane part that would not be there without Frank btw, since the part traveled through time as well)

The fat girls name is Cherita, she is in love with Donnie, which is why she has his name all over her book. She ran away from him because she likely thought he was either teasing her or she was nervous talking to a boy she liked so much

The teacher had cellar door written on the blackboard because she says it was called the most beautiful words in the english language and it was her last day and she wanted to share that with the class.

I do not remember 2 dudes in the cellar of the house sorry, I remember Frank and his buddy getting out of their car in front of the house after hitting Gretchen. I haven't seen the film in a few years, if there was 2 guys in the house then maybe it was because they broke in?

I think by "they" Donnie means more than just Frank I think he means all the people who are screwing with him.

You are right about Donnie's pills they are placebos, he was never hallucinating.

Is my roommate interested me?

Now I will tell you about myself. I am 37 and work in the IT field.

I have never been married, nor have children. I am not rich or poor,

but I would consider myself well for off living in Kingston. I would

consider myself a average looking guy with slim build. I just

recently built a beatiful house last year. I lived there myself until

Lisa moved in. Have recently been through a lot of stress past two

years. My sister tragicaly passed away in a house fire, almost lost

my mother 1 month previous to that, fell in love with a girl from

Russia almost married her (didn't work out), and finally stress of

buiding my house and working full time.

Now my question: "does Lisa like me".

=====================================

When Lisa first moved in I tried to keep my distance because people

always say "keep an arm's length away" dealing people you don't know.

The first weekend she moved in, she was in my backyard wearing a

bikini sun bathing.

Is it okay to go barefoot to the movies?

Good for you!!! Sounds like you prefer to go barefoot everywhere. I'm the same way. There are NO LAWS prohibiting people going barefoot anywhere. The "Health Dept. Regulation" is an urban myth. A place of business is well within their rights to decide who they will an will not serve, as long as it's not discriminatory. In this economy, it's hard to imagine a business turning away a paying customer because they're barefoot. How many times have you seen someone it pants hung way off their butt, and underwear or body parts showing, or how about offensive t-shirts? Why are those things alright, but someone who's barefoot is not?

I go to theater's all the time barefoot. In fact, I can't think of the last time I went when I wasn't barefoot. Actually, I think it might be easier in a crowd.

Keep 'em BARE!

Barefoot Tex
