I Work In Fast Food Industry And My Nail Are Horrible. Is There A Good Nail Polish That Will Not

Why am I not allowed to have nail polish at my job?!?

Sorry to say - it doesn't matter if you agree - or "get it" or not.

If it's their policy and you want to work there - then you have to abide by the rules they have.

Just because you bite your nails and bleed is no reason for them to change the policy. That's a personal issue - not one the big Taco Bell corporation is going to change for.

It's a concern because polish can chip and fall into food. It's a concern because fake nails can fall off into the food.

Yes, you may be doing what you can to minimize the risk. That doesn't mean EVERYONE does.

So your argument about scrubbing and all that doesn't hold water - so to speak.

Apparently they are making some kind of exception for you and the acrylics - why I don't know. Could be the local store choice - and they could be going against corporate policy.

So be grateful for that. And not to be too harsh - quit whining about it.

Why cant i wear nail polish at my fast food job?

I understand the 'because nail polish chips' axiom, but let me finish. At my workplace its acceptable to wear light nail polish- pink, french tips, nude, just light, natural colors. But i get dress coded if i wear navy, or bright pink, or white, etc. Is it okay to them to wear nail polish as long as the customer cant see it if it chips into their food?

Also, why cant the men wear earrings? Do the higher ups think they'll offend some faint hearted elder orsomething??

Does black nail polish look bad in a job interview?

It depends on where you are applying. If you are going to an interview at a skate shop, music store, fast food joint, grocery store, Goodwill, etc., then I would say black nail polish is acceptable. However, if I was a hiring manager at a respectable business/firm, where employees are expected to dress and look professional, I would seriously question the sanity of an interviewee that thought wearing black nail polish to an interview was acceptable. Even if it is for a job where there is some leeway in dress/appearance or you are not going to be seen by the public (ie, a call center), most non-idiots should know that they shouldn't go dressed up like Marilyn Manson to a job interview.

Can I wear small acrylic nails while working at Dunkin Donuts?

Well if she has them then I don't think it should be that big of a deal as long as they're small. I'm not too sure though cause I work at a fast food place as well and they don't let me have nail polish or acrylics whatsoever. But if they haven't said anything about your left over nail polish I doubt they'll say anything about small acrylics! And if she says anything you can always just come up with the excuse saying you thought you were allowed cause she was wearing them!

Is sniffing nail polish remover dangerous?

My dear , this is considered to be a kind of addiction if done regularly. And is very harmful, too. Many nail polish removers contain acetone, a chemical solvent that is very effective as a paint thinner, industrial cleanser and solvent. This clear, colorless liquid belongs to a class of chemicals called ketones. Ketones are produced as a byproduct of human metabolism, but they are also synthesized for industrial purposes.Acetone is generally considered safe when it’s used for its intended purposes, but for teens who deliberately inhale its vapors, acetone can be extremely dangerous. Available at drugstores, supermarkets, salons and convenience stores, nail polish remover is inexpensive and easy to obtain. When inhaled in high concentrations, acetone acts as a central nervous system depressant, slowing down vital functions like heartbeat, respiration and metabolism. Acetone is also highly flammable, which means that teenagers who inhale its fumes while smoking are at risk of life-threatening burn injuries.Young teenagers who are just beginning to experiment with drugs often start with inhalation, or “huffing.” Nail polish remover can be inhaled directly from the bottle, poured into a bag and inhaled by mouth, or sniffed from a saturated rag. No matter how it’s abused, acetone can cause adverse side effects, such as:Irritation of the throat and nasal passagesNausea and vomitingHeadachesDamage to the eyesConfusionDizzinessUnconsciousnessLong-term exposure to acetone can cause weakness, chronic irritation of the respiratory passages, mood swings and irritability.Reference: Nail Polish Remover Abuse

Is nail polish a health code violation?

Yes it it. Most health units or company food safety departments do not recommend or prohibit wearing of nail polish as it can lead to a food safety contamination as food mircoorganisms can get trapped in the polish and gorw.

Here is an example:

Food handlers must have the highest standards of personal hygiene
because they have the potential of making many people sick when
their standards are lowered.
 Wash hands properly, frequently, and at appropriate times.
 Keep fingernails trimmed, filed, and maintained so the edges
and surfaces are cleanable and not rough. Best practice is not to
wear fingernail polish or artificial fingernails.

How do I grow nails faster?

Well,3 Key Things That Make Your Nails Grow Faster1. Maintain a proper diet.As with all parts of your body, your nails are affected by what you eat — or don't eat. Dr. Debbie Palmer, dermatologist and creator of Replere, advises noshing on protein-rich foods including beans, fish, and nuts for stronger, healthier nails, while celebrity manicurist Holly Falcone recommends incorporating biotin, Vitamin E, and fish oil into your diet.2. Keep things neat and filed.Similarly to your hair, keeping your nails properly clipped prevents damage and breakage, thereby aiding their growth. New York City dermatologist Dr. Janet Prystowsky advises taking time to trim every two weeks, or more often if your nails already tend to grow quickly. If you frequently partake in activities that can harm your nails, such as rock climbing or lifting weights, keep an emery board on hand (see what we did there?) so you'll always be able to file your nails smooth when necessary.3. Take it easy with the gel manis. You'll never get longer nails if you don't think about their safety. "To keep nails healthy, hydrate them and minimize the use of harsh chemicals and tools," says Marsha Gordon, M.D., associate clinical professor of dermatology and vice chairman of the dermatology department at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. And beware of too many gel manicures. Not only can the UV light damage the skin around and below your nails, upping the risk of cancer, the polish can be tough to remove (read: it can take a lot of wear and tear to get it off). You can visit here For more Beauty Tips and products - True Cosmetic Beauty

Can I dispute a credit card purchase due to terrible service rendered?

From a legal perspective, the fundamental issue is whether you have a valid claim against the merchant for the product provided or the services rendered. As long as the consumer follows the procedures (meaning that they provide a timely and on-point response each time the merchant responds to the response from the merchant), then it will be decided in the consumer’s failure. What is “on point”? In the initial communication, you need to explain what the problem was and indicate what you did to provide the merchant with a chance to resolve the problem (and why any resolution offered was not satisfactory). In subsequent communications, you should address any points that were made in the merchant response.Be aware that a decision by the card issuer is not the end of the story. Either party can still sue the other in small claims court, and in a case like this, that seems fairly likely to happen. So I encourage you to see if you can work something out with the hair salon. It’s not really that unusual for customers to feel that the results were unsatisfactory, and the owners of the hair salon generally want to make all reasonable efforts to satisfy their customers. Almost surely, most of their customers are satisfied with the resultsthey get from this hair salon, and given a second chance, they can probably satisfy you as well.
