of course your taxes will be more if you normally worked and got $500 but worked overtime adding another $250, your gross is then $750(rather than $500) and the tax on that amount is greater than the regular amount
Does Walgreens pay time and a half on holidays?
no they dont. i work there, i worked there 8 hours today too. but you will get your normal pay and then you get paid for it being the holiday (whether you worked or not) they will take your weekly average of hours and divide that by 5. so if you work 40hrs a week, you will get an extra 8 hrs of pay. so its actually better than time and a half cause you get an entire extra day =)

Depends on what state and company policy. In Illinois, they don't have to pay overtime unless you actually work more than 40 hours in one 7 day period (as defined by the company).

I am considered a part time employee. My question is, does my employer have to pay me holiday pay today, July 4th, for working, plus overtime, or can my employer simply pay me my regular hourly rate, regardless of the fact that it is a holiday and I am working the overnight shift. What does Massachusetts law require my employer to do.
