Why does everyone tease me for liking asians?:-(?
Tease them for being like they are racist white folk bedsheet wearing KKK! Tease them for being taco stuffed border jumpers who lost their pants while jumping the fence!! Tell them to stop acting like children or you're going to have to spank them! Give them a timeout. Tell them they are crazy. They don't get out much and need to get out more. Tell them they're dorks. Just have fun with teasing them back. I thought I was getting better at not beng prejudice, but when you are surrounded by people who are prejudice it can be hard! My family was like that and people can be like that. I know its frustrating. But you have to try to not let it affect you until you can get out on your own. Be strong and don't let them emotionally mess with you! So that's why I suggest teasing them about things and working on your sense of humor. Humor is great for decreasing stressful situations and giving you the power. I box and am asian. So I was in a mostly latino gym and was an outsider. (Pacquiao beat De La Hoya by the way!! I'm happy =P) But once people get to know you a little better that stuff goes away. Its the same in the real world. If people actually try to get to know other cultures and people than racism, discrimination, and prejudice is decreased. That person will be less likely to be prejudice and contributes positively to the world. But most people are just scared of people who are different. So they don't do that. You are an open minded person, so you' re awesome! In the end I think you'll find it comes down to finding amazing individuals most! They are truly rare and valuable. I used to have "a preference," but it doesn't apply anymore. I just like people with real heart, who aren't too prejudice, that like to have fun. So have fun and I'm sure you'll find a great guy! =)
My 14 y/o son teases my daughter whenever they're in the bath because she's begun puberty and starting to show
My 14 year old son Mark has started teasing my 11 year old daughter Rebecca whenever they're taking a bath because she's started puberty and it's beginning to show. Mark has already been through puberty, and since he knows it's a tough time, he's been teasing her. And Lord knows that girls are overly sensitive about their bodies at this age. For example, he'll give her a "titty-twister" (that's what he calls it) or he'll yank on her pubic hair until she starts to cry. How can I get them to get along? I'm just at the end of my tether here. Their father walked out on us several years ago, so I don't get no help. What can I, as a single mother, do?
My 6year old son was recently prescribed glasses for astigmatism in both eyes. My husband wants a second opin?
A second opinion can never hurt. Astigmatism in general is pretty common, but not necessarily in 6-year olds. Astigmatism sounds like a terrible thing, but it really isn't. It's just that your son needs 2 different prescriptions in one eye. It's absolutely correctable with glasses or contacts. Other people have made comments about other kids teasing your son about his glasses. If he likes being able to see with them, is excited to wear them, and wears them confidently, he will have much less trouble with the other kids. Also, 6 is a little young to be considering contacts. As soon as you and he feel he is old enough to handle the responsibility of caring for contacts (and provided your eye doctor says he's a good candidate), contacts may be an option.
