What are some good book suggestions to carry me away after breaking up with the girl I am still in love?

If I was your real brother, I would slap you first rather suggesting a book. Then I would suggest one book ‘The Secret’. There is a documentry movie on this. You can even watch that if reading book bores you.Learn life first than a relationship. It's just a biological process which we call love. Its not real.

Can I get some good teen book suggestions?

Try Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson.A epic fantasy with a very unique magic system. It is part a series of series. All of which are independent. If you liked it you will like the rest give it a try.The ExpanseAn Interesting Science fiction series also a tv series.Morganville Vampire seriesIt is in the same genre as Twilight but was quite different. What I found intriguing was it shows it’s heroine as very powerful further into the series but doesn’t make her a fighter or a schemer but rather a scientist with knowledge and influence.

"i wish i could find a good book to live in" - any suggestions?

I'm going to second "I Capture the Castle"

I saw it at Barnes & Noble yesterday and I read the back cover. It sounds like a great book to get lost in and I added it to my reading list.

If you haven't already read Inkheart and Inkspell by Corneilia Funke those are also good books to get lost in because that's exactly what they are about. The third one Inkdeath will come out in October.

How good is David Baldacci? Any book suggestions?

I have read a few of Baldacci's titles. I would say some are really good!!The bad : Most books would start off on a high note, intriguing situations and characters mostly from FBI, Secret Service or the like. But not all books I read were even limping around the same high by the time you hit 150-200. "Zero Day" could have lost some pages. Almost all plots were deciphered; although most were decent. "Split Second" could have done with a better ending and more lovable characters. Now to the good from among Baldacci books. Some very well developed characters and memorable stories; ones which you sure would read a second time. "Absolute Power" was amazing for great characterisation great situations and some really dramatic scenes in the midst of all action. You just cant help appreciating Luther Whitney. There are tears for his departure. At the same time Alan Richmond becomes despicable. Then there is Will Robie in "The Innocent". Amazing character, but the book is loved for its true page-turner capabilities. Is there even one chapter that you can put down the book after?? Its a you knew it kind of ending but still cant wait to read it. I recently purchased "The Target".PS: Try reading Agatha Christie for some "how the hell is that possible" endings. Poirot will make you forget or even ridicule Mr. Holmes.

Do You Have Some Suggestions For A Really Great Long Novel I Can Take On A Trip With Me?

I am sniffing around for something new to read, meaning I would prefer not to take something I have read before. I will be gone for three weeks, but I read like a mad woman, and will especially have plenty of time to sit in the sun and read, as I am going to see my father in the Middle East, and his garden is walled and private and perfect for naps and books.

I would like something long, and when I say long I mean approximately 1000 pages. I am taking Ken Follett's "The Pillars of the Earth," so I figure I will have had enough of the whole Middle Ages thing. And I've already read "Sarum," which everyone I talk to has recommended.

So, I would like suggestions which fit these criteria (yes, I know I am being quite picky):

--Long
--Interesting, a page-turner
--Not another book about the Middle Ages in England, please
--Escapist, and preferrably not historical
--I dislike romances, or thrillers with romantic elements, as well as science fiction and fantasy
--My ideal book would be a mystery or a thriller--if it's one of those, then an historical setting is fine, as long as there's blood and intrigue
--It's gotta be available in paperback--I would prefer mass market (pocket sized), but will take trade (large sized)--I just don't have room for a hardback

Any ideas at all?

Please keep in mind that I am a grown woman, not terribly sentimental, and think Clive Cussler and Nelson Demille are boooring.

If you know of any volumes where several books in a series have been combined, that would be fine, too. I have read two Mickey Spillane books, each of which contained three of the Mike Hammer novels.

Other than all those restrictions, I'd love to hear your suggestions.

Thanks!
