I Would Like To Get Running Schedule For 100m Sprinter

Best training shoes for Sprinters? (100m-400m)?

Hoi, first of all...... Nikes suck dong for track and cross country. Never ever buy free runs for training, they just give u shin splints and other stuff that sucks. I would recommend Asics, Brooks, New Balance. But before u buy a training shoe always put it through the worthy training test. First check if the shoe bends past 2/3 of the shoe, if it bends more then that, thats a no no. Next u check the heel of the shoe, not the bottom but the back of the shoe, if that part is flexible then thats not very good support. U want a hard heel support and a not so bendy shoe. Oh and never buy nike shocks or any shoe that looks like it or free runs.

How fast can u run 100m sprint?

Are you a freshman in highschool or an 8th gradeer. I'm also going off the assumption that your a guy. In my state qualifing for the state meet you had to run 11.8 Winning time last year was 11.02. our current state record is a 10.69. When I was running I ran an 11.6. But those are all high school times. You really shouldn't compare yourself to other people though. A better thing to do would be to set goals and try to achieve them. Try runing a sub 12.5 this year. Maybe a 12.0 the next. By the time your a senior you could have a goal in the upper to mid 11's. Be realistic, and set goals that are really acheivable.

Is it too late to start training to become a 100m sprinter at the age of 19?

I am a 5'7, 18 male, turning 19 in two months. All my life I have watched the Olympics and have been running since I was really young. I've always been the fastest out of my friends growing up and in year 11 (16 years old) I was running times at around 11.6 seconds without ANY training whatsoever. The olympics preparations this year are really motivating me and I feel like I can do it with a lot of training and dedication. I just don't know two things...

1. Am I too old to start training now?
2. How do I get into it? How do I find a club and apply for tournaments, etc?

Thanks if you can help.

I'm from the UK (Hammersmith, London) as well if that helps and if anybody knows any good clubs?

Also, does anybody know of any successful or near-successful sprinters that started late?

Can someone in high school run 11-12 seconds in 100m sprint without regular training?

yes it is possible to do it without training BUT....

their % of an injury is higher than someone who does train. Putting yourself under such activity without prior training can lead to hamstring injuries or even tendon strains.

Look at 100m sprinters like Tyson Gay & Walter Dix. They train everyday and they both still suffered injuries from moving the wrong way during an actual race.

Any wrong move can hurt. BAD.
