I Would Like To Know My Identity. I

Identity: How can I be authentic if I don't know who I am?

A far more difficult question to answer than it seems, eh? The ancient greeks had something to say about the matter. According to Pausanias (geographer) , the following words were inscribed at the Temple of Apollo at Delphi: "Know thyself." There are many interpretations regarding the meaning of the expression. I suggest you find out what the most famous of these interpretations are and attempt to thoroughly understand them. This, I think, is a priliminary adventure worth partaking in, and in the process will illuminate your path along your way to finding an answer towards your question, which is not at all easy to answer.

How do I find my identity and know what I am good at?

It’s kind of the wrong question. I know that “finding yourself” is a popular sport, but it’s a confused sport. You can’t find yourself, because you’re not lost in the first place. You’re just confused about the nature of identity. The mind has concepts of self. These are ideas, beliefs, narratives, images, etc.: you can envision this as a sort of bucket, into which the mind throws some things, and labels the bucket “me”.But that’s just a bucket of ideas, it’s not “true self”. It’s a bunch of concepts, and your mind is wired up to validate and distinguish and sustain that bucket of concepts, because, by default, your ego maintenance machinery thinks “this is who I am”.It’s wrong. That’s not who you are. It’s just a bunch of ideas. The question you’re asking is something like “what should be in my bucket of ideas?” But that’s the wrong question — there is no such thing as a correct bucket of self-concepts. All buckets of ideas are inauthentic, when you’re talking about identity. There’s no such thing as “my true self-concept”: concepts are not an appropriate box into which true self can be stuffed. What you want, if you’re interested in authentic self, is to start by building up self-awareness: learn to observe your own thoughts and feelings, so that you can get some “distance” from the belief that they define you. That opens you up, that cracks open the shell of ego, so that you can sense the larger spectrum of possibilities that resonate with true self. This is a very here-and-now phenomenon: it isn’t about having big, flashy goals — it’s fine to have goals, but you’re not defined by them. True being occurs when you recognize a very different kind of self, and live in the commitment to being that. First, you have to debunk the confused bucket of ideas, though. That’s all about awareness.

Do you know someone's secret identity?

I have known several co-worker’s secret identities. Most of these have all been related to a need to work under either anonymity or a cover identity as part of official business. Another couple I’ve known (although not really “secret”, just private) were unofficial pseudonyms or nom-de-plumes for online or other personal writing use.None of these were/are related to secret societies, superheroes, or the like. Many people use screen-names simply to protect their privacy.

How to find the identity of a gas?

You don't have enough information to make a definitive identification of the gas other than the obvious value of the molar mass.

You could make a wild guess. Since the molar mass of oxygen (O2 -- 2 x 16.0 g/mol) is 32.0 g/mol, then you assume that the gas might be oxygen. Or it could be gaseous sulfur atoms (32.1 g/mol). Or it could be CH3OH, methanol vapor (32.0 g/mol). The problem with the latter two are that sulfur exists at STP as a solid and is fairly nonvolatile, and methanol is normally a liquid. But methanol is fairly volatile, but I'm betting that at 20C it doesn't have a vapor pressure of 0.85 atm. So that leaves you with oxygen.

How can I find out if someone has used my identity to get Married-I lost my wallet years ago -I have already.?

Try contacting the Social Security office in your city to see if they can check your records for any marriages that might have taken place since you lost your wallet. If the person assumed your identity using the social security number on your card and birth certificate, and then used it to get married - the Social Security office would have the marriage on record. They might have to order information like that and it could take a few weeks, but go soon so that you can make sure everything is ready for your own, real wedding. Here's the Social Security website, just put in your zip code to find the nearest office and get those records checked:

Argh I feel like my sister is stealing my identity?

My sister is 4 years younger than me, but I feel like she's trying to become me. When I found out that I had a strong talent for drawing, that made me feel special and set me apart from her. But she's also become fond of drawing and does the same as me! I've also branched off from mainstream music and found a passion for alternative stuff which I love and makes me really different from everyone else. But then my sister decides she likes all the same stuff as me and wants it as well. This makes me mad because I don't feel different or special or set apart, just stuck in the background again. My sister is only 12 and hates it when I say she's copying me, because she feels that she isn't.
I don't know what to do because I don't want her to become me and this is really annoying because my art and my music is my personality and is like my soul.
And please don't say that imitation is the strongest form of flattery or whatever because that is not a helpful sentence.
