I Would Like To Make A Firstperson View Movie Of How It Is To Be In Prison.

Why do so many people like Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban?

One reason is that Harry Potter finally stops playing catch-up.In the first book, he’s trying to figure out who he is and the rules of this world. He stops Voldemort almost by accident, through the manipulations of Dumbledore hiding the Stone in the mirror and the protection left by his mother. In the second book, he and his friends are manipulated by Lucius Malfoy and the diary of Tom Riddle. At one point, he’s even manipulated by Hagrid, who tells him to follow the spiders. And again, his success is a last-minute inspiration. But in Prisoner of Azkaban, he takes an active role in becoming the hero and he proves himself to be a powerful, if only partially-trained, wizard. He demands to be taught how to defend himself against the Dementors. He stands up to Lupin and Black and forces them to spare Pettigrew’s life. He and Hermione deliberately put themselves in danger and set out on a mission to save Black and Buckbeak. Dumbledore didn’t trick him this time, but openly entrusted him with saving two lives. And then he produces a powerful Patronus, advanced magic beyond many wizards’ abilities. In Prisoner of Azkaban, Harry becomes the wizard the prophecy spoke of.

How do people who aren't tough get by in prison?

Define tough. If you are emotionally or mentally weak, prison will destroy you and no one will recognize you when you get out. It won't matter one bit how physically tough you are. The best way to survive prison when you are not physically tough is to use your brains to protect yourself.Let me tell you about a guy named Ernie Preate.Ernie was the Attorney General of Pennsylvania until he got indicted and convicted for basically being a very corrupt guy. He actually had the temerity to ask to be placed in federal prison in Florida so he wouldn't suffer from the weather. He ended up in Minnesota.Imagine you were a career prosecutor who threw most of the people like your fellow inmates into prison on a regular basis. Ernie was not merely friendless but also very alone. No inmates would talk to him and most of the correction officers thought he was a corrupt scumbag politician. One day, an inmate was showing the guys in his unit the petition he had drafted to get his sentence corrected. The feds had miscalculated his time and he was sure that he was going to get a couple of months shaved off (the inmate only had a 3–4 months or so to go).Ernie couldn't take it any more and the attorney in him took the paperwork out of his fellow inmate's hands and after a while told the prisoner that he should already been released and asked the inmate if he would like for Ernie to rewrite his petition.Soon everyone was coming to Ernie for legal help and he helped everyone. He had lots of friends (I am using this term very loosely) and was no longer alone. There are plenty of people in prison who aren't tough. The only reputation you should have is that you aren't there to join anyone or make enemies.Working in the prison library and helping other inmates with their legal stuff is one way to survive very well.If you decide that the jailhouse lawyer route is for you, do everything for free without favor or payment.

Would the "beat up the biggest guy" approach work in prison provided you successfully beat him up?

So, it's your first day on the yard. You’re a little nervous, first time in prison. You walk out onto the yard and start looking the biggest, baddest guy you can find. You spot Bubba. Bubba has been in for years, lifting weights and getting shitty tattoos. You make your decision, that's him. Now it's time for another very important decision; sucker punch or announce your intentions first?Let's go with sucker punch. You stroll nonchalantly over towards Bubba. With every step he's looking bigger and bigger. That's when you notice that Bubba isn't alone. Being Big Man On Campus has given Bubba a group of lackeys (or his other gang members ). You get close, plant your feet and let fly the haymaker from hell. Down goes Bubba, lights out. Magically the guards get there before his buddies pounce like the hyenas from Lion King. After two weeks in the hole you're ready to hit the yard again. Ready to bask in the glory of your heroic feat.Oh yes, everyone knows what happened, you definitely have your 15 minutes of fame. The first person approaches you, he is not a fan of Bubba. He wants to be your friend. He wants you to be part of his clique. You know, the one always bumping heads with Bubba's group. What now? Say no and incur the wrath of yet another group? Say yes and become an even more of a marked man?Next comes the second meeting with Bubba. Or more likely 3 or 4 of his buddies. That doesn't end well. There are inmates just waiting to test you. Especially since you threw that sucker punch. They want to know exactly how tough you are. They will make you defend the title, so to speak. Now let's say you took the more honorable approach and looked Bubba in the eye and told him his mom says hi, and for some reason eats ketchup with her eggs in the morning. Now Bubba knows what's coming. The two of you throw down, and by some miracle his pals just hung back. You get the best of Ol’ Bubba as the guards haul you off.Same thing happens when you leave segregation. In my time. No one ever tried this. Not once. I saw a hundreds of inmates come and go, some multiple times (doing life on the installment plan ). I think most inmates would take an extra second before messing with you, so there is that. But you would definitely open a can of worms like no other.Best plan is be willing and ready to defend yourself. Try to avoid conflict. Stay away from risky behavior. Always remember, no such thing as a fair fight.

Good hostage/kidnapping/prison type books?

hello, I'm searching any time of hostage/kidnapping/torture/interrogation type of book. It needs to be from from the prisoners point of view. Please don't suggest anything from the pov of the interrogator, or prison guard or something like that. Also, I don't want any romance in it nor can it be specifically around some type of current event (something in the middle east). Fiction would be best but not fiction does still work.

Thanks ahead of time.

PS: I'm looking for a book like this to create a 'dramatic interp' which is a type of competitive speech topic. It kind of like a serious monologue but you take a full sized book and cut it down. That's why I'm so specific and being very picky with things. :)

Also please dont suggest using google. Trust me, I've been googling book name after book name for hours.
