I Would Like To Start A New Email Address

Is it possible to create an EMAIL ADDRESS starting with www?

I still don't know why this is confusing at all.

www.eeee on your email address is called a base. It's like the username on a server. The eee.com.jp is called the domain, aka, server. When you send an email, the protocol will look for the server on the domain and "tell" that server that it's user on the base has a message and then the server stores it on the user's mail log. Usually, the servers will communicate using SMTP. If the domain can't find the user specified in the base, it will return an error to the sender, which is the infamous MAILER-DAEMON@someplace.com message telling you that the message was not being able to be delivered.

When it comes to the HTTP protocol (web navigation), www.someplace.com is called a domain. A browser sends a request to a DNS server (your ISP has these) to look up that someplace under the .com top-level domain. The DNS server returns the IP address of the server containing that page you requested. The browser will then connect to that IP and request whatever is under the subdomain www (if configured like that, www is usually a vhost). The server then returns the HTML page to your browser and you can see the contents you requested. DNS servers have a higher restriction rate on what characters you can use on a domain name though. If I am not mistaken you can only use alphanumeric characters, but you really can't use any punctuation.

Regarding @ on your URL, no, you can't have it, that's a reserved character. The HTTP protocol allows you to pass a username/password combination to the server in question. The way to do this is to enter the URL as:

http://username:password@somewhere.somed...

Try out for example http://bad:credential@yahoo.com

Internet Explorer 6 and above disable this functionality because some people were falling for scams where others stole credentials using that method. Firefox will give you a warning if the site you are trying to access does not require credentials and will ask you if you want to proceed or not.

Having said that, as you can see, there is nothing weird on that one. Some email services don't allow you to have some characters on your base, some do. Reasons? They probably have one, I don't know. It kinda of amazes me though that many people find this fact surprising. It does tell me that most of them do not know what they are doing on the internet.

How do I delete all my emails and start over with a new email address?

Do you really never want to receive email from that address again? You have no games or business or banking that you want to get updates on? No friends that have your old email that you want to ever hear from?  If you do, you can forward email from your old address to your new one. If you truly never want anything from the old email, there is usually an option (usually used for vacations) where you can have the email held on the server. Then never check it again. As far as how to delete all your old mail, it depends on what email client you are using. Usually you can go to the menu, select all and delete whatever is showing. Keep deleting until it is all gone.Microsoft (Hotmail) and Google (gmail) both have free email for your new account.Hope that helps.

Yahoo email address - Can I change my email address but keep my yahoo answers account?

Since receiving too much junk mail is your problem, you probably want a totally new account in order to start fresh. If you remember to keep singing in every month or so to the old account, it will remain active - for Answers, and any saved mails there.

If you want a BRAND NEW account with all new details, click this link and fill out the form to create a new account. You can then import your Contacts list from the old account to keep them. Mail will go to either account, but they are separate. Sign out of one to sign in again at the other.

How can I delete my email and start over?

As I understand you want a new email and do not want to use the old one anymore. In such case, depending on your email provider I would advise you to visit Close your Yahoo Account or Delete your Google Account and complete the provided steps to terminate your account. If you use some other email provider I am sure you should find the steps you need by simply typing its name with keywords like “terminate account” into your preferred search engine. Then all you have to do is create a new account the way you did before. In most cases you can do it by pressing sign up link you can find on sign in page, e.g., on Yahoo mail sing in page there is a question bellow “Don't have an account?” and the Sing up link is right next to it.

I want to change my email address from @sbcglobal.net to @yahoo.com how do i do that?

You'll have to create a new account with Yahoo! https://edit.yahoo.com/config/eval_regis...

Any email you receive on one with be sent to the other. At one time, with sbcglobal.net you can merge the two account but if discontinue your sbcglobal account, you lose your yahoo! account. (that's the way it worked 2 years ago anyway) You may find your id is already in use. There is no way around this.
