I Would Love To Be A Successful Actress I Am 14 And Welsh But I Don

I would love to become an actress but don't know where to start?

Hi fellow Irish acting girl.
I'm 14 and I do quite a bit of professional and amateur acting mostly in the west. Since you've started taking acting classes has your confidence been building up? Because you need to be major confident if you want to take acting serious as a career in later life, you need to own that room in audition all eyes HAVE to be focused on you. But I'm gonna start off plain and simple I know A LOT of girls who want to do professional acting/dancing/singing but a lot of them are not good at all. Some whisper theirs lines, put no energy into their performance at all, turn their back to the audience, don't sound a bit convincing, don't even learn their lines and if they do they say their lines as if they are a plank of wood. You will never manage an acting career if you are like that, UCC, UCD, DCU won't even look at you if you apply there. Acting might seem like a glamorous jobs where you earn millions every year, star in box office hits and do red carpet premiers. The majority of actors are unemployed for most of the year they scrape by by doing the odd play or commercial or low budget film. You will need another degree if you want to be successful in life because if you do "theatre studies" in college you will be scraping by in life not doing a lot and looking for when your next paycheck might come in.

Anyways back to your question, for young teen actors male or female there is not a lot of want in Irish films because you need to have a guardian with you 100% of the time and that is a lot of hassle for studios who just want to get a movie done. Most auditions in Ireland are for people aged 18-40 and you are lucky to get the job because hundreds/thousands apply for them. Anyway I have a site below for auditions for documentaries/films etc. On my finishing note PLEASE do consider on what I said earlier about life as an actor, I know a lot of brilliant actors in their mid 30's who are unemployed the majority of the year and only see work every 6 months or so. If you do follow acting and do "theatre studies" the likely hood of you moving abroad to the UK or the US or some other country is very high. Take into consideration what I just typed

How to be a successful young actress?

Hello i'm Elle and am 14 years old from the UK , I really love acting and this has been a ambition from the age of 3. My parents are just normal working class so were not really that rich to splash out on money on stage school like italia conti but I do go to a theatre group after school on a wednesday for an hour and a half. My plan was to finish my GCSES and my BTEC Performing arts acting course level 2 at school. I go to a normal comprehensive school and wasn't sure weather I should stay on and do A-level drama or go to BRIT school which is a hour & half from where I live and do theatre studies which is a BTEC performing arts level 3? at 16 also I wanted to apply to join the National youth theatre and maybe do some plays to gain experience as I have no professional experience yet. Once finished at BRIT school or my normal comprehensive school I wanted to attempt to get into RADA or LAMDA or London central school of speech and drama for university.

is this a good plan? My university will have to be on a grant to I will have to get a saturday job to help , my mum & dad said they were going to help me out out the grant may be easier to get as my parents are divorced and my mum is a single mother.

Do you think I should stay on and do A levels? or do BTEC at BRIT school instead? then go to uni then while at BRIT and doing shoes at the national youth theatre try to gain a good agent?

I would love to be an actress any help?

You should find a talent agent.

One time, I got an invite in the mail for some talent agent searching for, "new inspirations". My mom kept on telling me that I should go and stuff constantly, so finally, I gave up. The talent agency's name...I think it was called 'American Model and Talent Search' or something like that. I know the 'Model and Talent' part belongs but I'm not sure about the others... All you have to do is show up, sign a form, wait in a LONG line, stand in front of the camera, and answer and talk to some people. They ask you questions and stuff to figure out if your fit to be acting or modeling. If you get in, you will get a letter from them in about 2 or more weeks. I got in. You had to go to this meeting and there, they tell you that you have to pay around $600 and then you have to go to another meeting in L.A. My dad didn't want to pay $600 for something I might not get so.. yeah.

The agency comes to different cities all across the nation to search for future stars so probably they will come to your city....maybe they will, maybe they won't.

Hoped this helped. =)

Linda Hunt (NCIS LA).Currently starring in NCIS Los Angeles. Has had a pretty successful film career. Even as a young woman, she wasn’t extremely attractive.Mayim Balik (Blossom, Big Bang Theory)She’s not ugly for sure, but she is not conventionally attractive per Hollywood standards.Rachel DratchDefinately the face of a character actress. At best, she is ordinary looking.Doris Roberts (Everybody Loves Raymond). Now, I think for a not-twentysomething woman, she looked fantastic, but that’s the point-any woman over 30 or so usually cannot find success in Hollywood.Laurie Metcalf (Rosanne, Big Bang Theory).Talented woman, but not a ravishing beauty.Sara Gilbert (Rosanne, Big Bang Theory, The Talk)Never a conventional beauty. But highly successful.

How could i become an actress?

I'll be blunt. You're no longer going to be a popular actress. The odds are extraordinarily stacked in opposition to you. Go get lunch in LA, and you're going to meet a couple of actress/waitress who desires to be the following famous person. To be sincere, your odds are even worse. Now that Sandra Bullock is a celeb, she can also be choosy approximately what she does. An actor who has no longer made it massive takes any and each viable function, hoping to get spotted. If that suggests making a song on a cat meals commericial, you do it. Only being in a single exhibit isn't a well begin. A few popular actors make massive cash, however the leisure are not able to even help themselves with performing. Are you going to be the only in 1 who hits it massive? Probably no longer. If you move the scientific monitor, you'll be able to make a well dwelling. Even should you are not able to relatively make it into scientific university, you'll be able to move to PA university or NP university or get your MSN, and you're going to make a well dwelling.

How to become an actress? im 14?

Your parents are the only one who can make your career at this age, without them you can't be a child actor. They are the only one who can get you to auditions as well as approve the release forms to allow you to work.
You start small by doing school plays and community theater and work up.

Get an agent by looking through a phone book, going on SAG.org, or googling it. Find a agency near you... not one across the country. Agencies work on commissions, if they ask you for money upfront then they are a scam

There is no end to the things you can do that would count as success. Fame and fortune are the measure of very few of them. You could be a kind and loving family builder who brings sympathy and warmth to people around you.You could be a social dynamo who brings joy and sparkle to every party you attend. You could be a teacher who nurtures learning and inspires hundreds to a lifelong love of poetry and literature. You could be a lawyer whose care and attention brings order and resolution to troubled people in troubled times.

I would prefer someone who has already had experience andis a successful actor or actress! Thanks!

The other answers are good. Work on your acting through theater and meet up groups and classes. Then you can get an agent, some headshots, and begin applying for work. But don't forget to study too. Many actors forget that you can prepare for your career by doing some homework. The main thing you should look into is what actor life is actually like. This is easy enough to do now in days. Just look up stuff on Youtube about what it is like to work on a set, or watch the behind the scenes of movies you like to see what the process is for everyone. It is fascinating stuff. Also try to find background extra's work for films. They always need people and it gets you right there in the action to see first hand. The bigger the production the better.Another great thing to look into is an Actors process. Study some of the specific acting techniques (Meisner Technique, Stanislavski’s System, Etc.) that are taught in acting schools. You don't have to do an in - depth study, but you should be familiar with their basic concepts. One of my favorite ways to study is to go on Youtube and watch interviews with my favorite actors. They tell a lot about their own processes as well as the experience and what they needed to be able to do while filming. Insider knowledge at the tips of our fingers. There are many other ways to study acting, and while practice is essential, so is knowing as much as you can to get an edge on other actors. So do your homework!
